Hendre cottage was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The setting is amazing with beautiful views, even on drizzly mornings. The hosts were excellent even leaving a very thoughtful and delicious welcome pack.

We fell in love with this place.. Cottage had everything we needed (we were surprised with how well equiped it is) and was very clean. Outside there is patio with chairs and also bbq area we could use. The host is lovely and very helpful. If I ever go back to Snowdonia, I will book Hendre Cottage.

Hendre Cottage is a lovely small barn conversion with great facilities, extremely well presented and is perfect for a family of four, two couples, or three people if two are willing to share a room.. The cottage is situated next to the owners house on her delightful smallholding. My friend and I found the location, which is literally 4 minutes from Coed Y Brenin Trail Centre, to be ideal as we were riding bikes the entire weekend. It would be ideal for anyone wanting to enjoy the spectacular scenery of North Wales. The owner is a charming and helpful woman that went so far as to loan us her slow cooker so that we could leave a meal cooking whilst we went riding. There are a couple of points to make that I feel people should be aware of. Firstly the cottage is next to the A470 which is in regular use, even during the night. I am a light sleeper and wish I had bought my ear plugs, if you are a light sleeper I suggest you do the same. Secondly, there are a few very curious cats in the area, if you have any allergies to cats then I suggest having a discussion before booking.

The owner- Mrs Jarett- was exceptionally friendly and helpful.. Our children were able to feed the hens and help collect their eggs which was a new experience for them! Location was perfect ( very close proximity to Coed y Brenin which is where we were each day!) and the bike storage facilities were good too thus making our holiday even more relaxing as a result. We would highly recommend this cottage. Thanks.

The owners were lovely, so friendly and charming and they took our kids off to feed the chickens and collect their eggs every evening which they really enjoyed.. The cottage is in a great location and was nicely decorated throughout. We would definitely like to return.

The cottage is perfectly situated in the heart of snowdonia just off a main road which was handy for quickly getting to where you needed to go but certainly not a problem with traffic noise.. We were made very welcome with cake and eggs by the owners who have a working smallholding with cows sheep and chickens. The cottage itself was nicely decorated and furnished to a very good standard with everything you need and more, a real home from home. We really enjoyed our time in Wales and wouldn't hesitate in coming back in the future.

A wonderful welcome, the homemade cake and eggs from the farm were much appreciated.. The owners could not have been more helpful. For an activity holiday the location of the cottage is ideal. Plenty to see and do but not enough time to do it all. Would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to friends and relatives.

This was our first time staying in a cottage through Sykes, we had an excellent service from start to finish of our holiday.. The cottage was brilliant, and lovely scenery, set in a very convenient location for our needs. The owner was great, ensuring we had everything we needed and very approachable which made us feel at home. Our week went very quickly we didn't want to leave. We will definately be re booking this cottage. I can highly recommend this cottage.

This wonderful cottage is located in the fresh, beautiful valleys and mountains of Snowdonia.. The owners were very welcoming and kind towards us and welcomed us home with a batch of delicious, home-made chocolate brownies, yum! The cottage was cute and very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing holiday in the indoors, as well as outdoors. The living room had a range of fun boardgames and a variety of leaflets proudly displaying all the amazing local and distant places you can go and explore in Snowdonia, from mines to adventure central parks and farms. Outside of the cottage is a small working farm with chickens, sheep, cows and even a cute ginger kitten called Macky with her mummy! We had a fantastic holiday here, exploring the beautiful countryside locations and relaxing in this warm home. Thanks to the wide range of activities and fun, we were always kept busy and every day was another adventure through the many wonders of Snowdonia! Thank you very much for everything, we will definitely be considering rebooking this holiday!

We wanted to stay near the Brecon Beacons for a New Years walking break and we're nearly out of places to stay and we were so lucky to find this one and appreciated we could stay at such short notice. This cottage was in a perfect location - 25 mins drive to Brecons and it'ss also 20 mins to Forest of Dean. It was a homely, warm cottage with everything you could need. The woodburner was a real treat and underfloor heating made it so cosy. Valerie was incredibly friendly and hospitable. She settled us into the cottage and made us feel at home. This is a great find. I'm almost tempted to keep it a secret!

The cottage was like the Tardis, small on the outside but when you go in it opens up. The owner of the cottage was a lovely and helpful lady. We had a lovely stay.

We stayed here in June last year and we loved our week! The cottage had everything we needed including a lovely package of goodies on arrival. The lounge area upstairs is very cosy and the kitchen is compact but just right (even with a dishwasher!). The bedrooms are big and have their own bathrooms, there's lots of space for bikes etc and there's plenty of space for parking. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. They are available if you need them, but also will leave you to it if you want! We loved the location too - nice and quiet, on a working farm and within easy reach of Snowdonia, walking, local shop etc. We would definitely go back :-)

A beautiful cottage in a great location come rain or shine. We felt completely at home and looked forward to returning every evening after a days outing. The close proximity to Coed y Brenin was fabulous and we would definitely book this cottage again. Can't recommend it highly enough.

April 2015
A brilliant cottage with breathtaking panoramic views from the living room and kitchen. The interior was modern, spotless and very well equipped. Warm and comfortable with a great wood burner with all fuel provided free. In a good location for exploring the local area including Snowdon etc. The friendly family made our 10 year old son very welcome 'helping out' on the farm, he loved it! One of the best cottages we've stayed in.

March 2015
We have been to this area many times before so have stayed at various properties. We found this one to be of the highest quality and would have no problems recommending it to other people. We could not fault it in any way and look forward to returning here again soon.

February 2015
The cottage was ideal for the two of us. We had mountain views from the balcony, a plentiful supply of wood for the stove, good WiFi and brilliant showers. In the middle of February it was so warm and toasty and central for so much that we like. Your hosts are so helpful and generous, like making new friends. We will definitely be back one day.

September 2014
Our hosts were really helpful regarding the surrounding area and attractions and places to visit, along with inside knowledge about the surrounding area, we fund this information absolutely essential bearing in mind that we had only one week to explore! Lots of attractions within easy reach, we will certainly be returning for more adventures in the future! They also provided us with a Welsh baked cake, and some fresh eggs from their farm organic chickens, these are really something to be tasted!

Excellent location. A chance to get away from it all and leave the stress and worries behind. A good base to explore the walking trails locally and for sightseeing further afield. The owners of the cottage were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

May 2014
The hosts were particularly friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The accommodation was very good with everything that you needed. An excellent location for all activities that we enjoyed to do, such as walking and cycling. Plenty of information in the cottage and the owners were very knowledgeable of the area, with plenty of advice of things that could be explored around the area. We will definitely return to do more.

The location was ideal for us to do all the sightseeing and walking we had planned. We happened to be there in lambing season and the view from the kitchen window, with the lambs playing in the field, was wonderful.

April 2014
The owners of the cottage are fantastic hosts, they really made us feel welcome. The location of cottage is superb. Great access to all that North Wales has to offer. We loved the fresh eggs from the free-range hens (they really do taste better!) Our children couldn't believe they got to see a lamb being born and then being able to help out on the farm added to this special experience. The cottage is the perfect size and well designed with spectacular views from the back garden. The wood burner is a lovely addition and made the cottage really cosy when the wind and rain was beating down outside. All told, a great holiday and at the right price. At the end of the week, we were really sad to leave, but we aim to come back soon.

March 2014
Very warm friendly welcome, the owner was very attentive but also respects the guests privacy. The cottage was lovely and had all mod cons whilst still having loads of character. Spectacular views of the surrounding mountains can be seen from the veranda straight outside, lovely to sit out with a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery, would definitely recommend it.
Mrs Mackman

A little gem of a cottage, so well laid out with ample space for boots, coats, bikes, climbing gear etc in the excellent utility area. Everything you need for a relaxing break, we were really comfortable and cosy here and appreciated the friendly welcome. The upstairs living / dining areas are light and surprisingly spacious and well designed. The cottage is very clean and modern, every appliance you could need. A great value property , I'm sure you should be charging more ! Thank you for the lovely tea loaf and all the really tasty eggs.

This cottage was very functional and homely, in a wonderful part of North Wales and being just off the A470, in a great location for holidaying in this area. Everything was wonderful, both bedrooms having an en-suite was really handy, and the accommodation was spacious and homely, with a nice balcony from the living area providing outdoor space from which to view the scenery. The owner was very friendly, and supplied us with eggs from their wonderful hens which came to greet us each day, and also provided us with the most heavenly Bara Brith cake on our arrival. We will definitely return.

September 2013
My wife, teenage daughter, mother in law and me spent a week in August at this wonderful upside down, lambing barn conversion. The cottage is in the perfect location, in the grounds of a working farm, for exploring Snowdonia and the surrounding area. When we arrived we met by friendly owners and once inside the cottage were welcomed by a warm, freshly baked, delicious cake and fresh eggs from the resident chickens. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything you could ask for including 2 bathrooms which was a godsend with a houseful of women!! An obvious amount of care and attention has gone into the conversion, which includes a log burner in the lounge for those chilly evenings. We were blessed with wonderful weather for the week of our stay so we didn't need this. The views over the farmland and Welsh countryside across to the mountains of Snowdonia were wonderful. We all felt totally relaxed and unwound at the end of our stay and were very sorry to leave. We will certainly return in the near future and I can't recommend this cottage highly enough. Thanks again for a wonderful week.

The cottage was amazing and the welcome from our hosts made us feel very much at home, along with the fresh eggs and the fresh baked Welsh fruit cake. The cottage was well appointed and central for the places we visited. We would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to our friends and we hope to return sometime in the future.

We rented Hendre Cottage for a short 3 night break and we would all have happily stayed longer. Immaculately clean; fully equipped; modern; convenient and a very pleasant and generous owner. On the downside this cottage is not as "stand alone" as it might appear and traffic noise from the main road is apparent. Bedroom 2 and the dining area are cramped, whilst there is a very tight and narrow spiral staircase between floors. Anyone with mobility or serious weight issues should appreciate this before booking. That said we would all happily return.
Mr Marshallsay

The cottage was warm and cosy with plenty of hot water and logs for the wood burner.

We had a fantastic holiday! Hendre Cottage has been excellently renovated. It is in a lovely peaceful location for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales, with a multitude of great walks nearby. The owners are very thoughtful and helpful, with considerable knowledge of the area. We would recommend this property to anyone seeking an enjoyable getaway to North Wales.

It would be very difficult to find fault with Hendre Cottage. From the moment that we arrived after a six hour drive, we were made to feel very welcome by our wonderful hosts. First impressions are always very important and Hendre Cottage did not disappoint. It was scrupulously clean and tidy and we found a delicious bara brith waiting for us to enjoy with a much needed cuppa. The weather was kind to us at the beginning of our stay and we enjoyed some spring sunshine but it deteriorated as the week went on. However, not once did we feel chilly in the cottage. It was incredibly warm and cosy and the log burner added charm and character. Wood for the burner was plentiful from our hosts as were fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm. Hendre Cottage is a good base to explore the Snowdonia National Park; Snowdon about 30 minute drive, Coed-y-Brenin Mountain Bike Centre about 5 minutes, Mawddach Trail and Precipice Walk Dolgellau about 15 minutes to name but a few. We cannot recommend Hendre Cottage highly enough. It has left a lasting impression with us and we cannot wait to return in the very near future.

Staying in Hendre Cottage is a wonderful experience. You feel at home right away in this little house with modern and new furniture, an obvious love for the detail on part of the owners. The kitchen offers all you need to self-caterers,and so does the cosy living room.Even a homemade cake and biscuits were waiting for us as a welcome. The location of the cottage next to the farm house allows a quick sneaking over to find out about things in question. You will also receive helpful information on walking paths in the area- a variety is available!-, and the fact that you are staying on the farm of extremely helpful and caring owners brings about easy access to eggs and milk. The eggs come from hens you can see running about and picking, also cattle you can watch from your windows. The really only thing that is not perfect with this cottage is that it is a bit difficult to find.A sign at the roadside would help here a lot- but is not allowed to be put up as we were told.

Fully furnished kitchen, even washing machine, and ever so friendly and helpful landlord and landlady (picked us up when we just couldn't find the farm, welcomed us with a beautiful home made cake and biscuits). The cottage was very well presented by the owner and very comfortable - an attractive property. The location is excellent for touring North Wales, and the owner was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the high quality kitchen white goods and the comfortable beds, and the decking and views were fantastic. Would be happy to use again/recommend!
