Lovely house in a beautiful part of the Peak District
The cottage was much more spacious than we had expected.and we found it cosy, clean and well appointed. The access roads were narrow and challenging, but there was a good parking space in front of the cottage.
We had excellent BT wi-fi and the property had good mobile signals for O2.TV's in all the bedrooms were great for our teenage grandchildren.
The local fish and chip was vert popular, but check the opening times.
We all enjoyed our stay at Longmor and had the added bonus of lovely fine weather!
Longnor is a very attractive village and Heathylee offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.. The interior of the house is very well appointed, with an amazingly high open-beam ceiling in the first bedroom. The first floor bathroom and the ground floor shower room are very nicely finished off. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room and sitting are both very pleasant rooms.
Cottage was excellent and very clean indeed.. The cottage contained everything that was required and ideal for a week's holiday. It was located in the middle of the peak district with easy access to everything we wanted to do and see. An ideal family cottage.
The cottage is amazing and longnor is a nice quiet village so if your looking .... The cottage is amazing and longnor is a nice quiet village so if your looking for a peaceful break this cottage is perfect we will be returning next year
A lovely cottage in a quiet location, almost centre of the Peak District so most places of interest can be reached quiet easily, the only minor thing is that we had no mobile phone signal in the village (this may have been a blessing)..
A lovely cottage had everything we needed great location.. Biscuits, milk and flowers in the cottage when we arrived . Owners live next door always on hand if needed . Very good fish and chip shop in village and general stores everybody so friendly. We are hoping to return next year.
The house was beautiful, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the showers were lovely.. We had a fabulous time and would like to return in the future
Lovely cottage, clean, comfortable and with everything we needed for a self catering holiday.. The owner had left cream eggs, milk, tea bags, coffee and a packet of biscuits as a welcome. All very much appreciated. Good location for lots of sightseeing.
The cottage was excellent, very well kept and very well equipped.. The setting is lovely and there was plenty to entertain the family in the area. The bedrooms were ample in size and the downstairs rooms were comfortable. The owners were very helpful. The setting is very rural in a lovely small village. The nearest reasonably sized town (Buxton) was about 10 minutes away along roads typical of the peak district. The access road into the cottage is very, very narrow with dry stone walls on either size but I did see someone drive a Toyota Hilux along the road. All in all, an excellent holiday.
The property was comfortable and clear instructions were left re:equipment and refuse. Nicely positioned in the village with lovely views from the two main bedrooms.
This is a lovely cottage. Clean and well kept. Exactly matches the description. Would recommend.
Well equipped and meticulously clean holiday cottage, just perfect for me and my three friends for a weekend escape. Great location to enjoy some beautiful views and walks around the Peak District. Owner very helpful and friendly. A lovely weekend.
A lovely cottage with everything needed.
Heathylee was well placed for exploring the area.It was very peaceful but also handy for village amenities.Bedrooms were very spacious and the cottage had plenty of space for 6 people.
Heathylee Cottage was a very good size, in good condition and with comfortable beds. The upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room were excellent. Heathylee Cottage is in a good location for exploring the Peak District, as all the main towns were within easy driving distance.
The cottage was excellent for us as a party with a toddler, lots of useful equipment was available. The cottage was spotless and the location was great.
The cottage was amazing and the owner could not have been more helpful.
The cottage was perfect, well-furnished in all aspects, spotlessly clean with wonderful views.
We stayed at this lovely cottage for the half term week end of October, there were 6 of us in total which included the 2 Grandchildren and all of us agreed wow, great cottage and great location. The cottage was of very good size, the bedrooms were very good sized and comfortable, and to have 2 separate bath rooms/toilets with young children was a great bonus. The general condition was excellent, separate boot room with washing machine was very handy, and overall the facilities were top notch and glad to say everything worked perfectly which is not always the case with some properties. This is in a great position for exploring the Peak District, as all of the main places seemed to be within 25 - 30 minutes drive. I cannot speak highly enough of this property, you would be proud to call it your own home. Will definitely be back for more of the same next year all being well, we had a fantastic stay thanks.
The cottage was stunning - spacious, amazing views and the extra bathroom was great, especially the power shower!
My partner and I Stayed here for a week with our respective parents and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The property is classily decorated, spacious and comfortable (although I did have to learn to duck when entering doorways since I'm 6ft 3!). The dishwasher, cooker, freezer, and washer dryer worked perfectly. There is fast Wi-Fi however the stone walls made this patchy in some of the rooms. Mobile reception was very poor.
Our parents are both over 70 and one of the things that sold us on the property was the walk in shower in the downstairs bathroom, however one minor niggle was that there was nowhere to put shower gel / shampoo other than on the floor which wasn't ideal but they both managed - if I'd have known I could have brought my "hanging basket" from home. The property is up a very small but steep hill, however this didn't prevent our Mum's getting into town. There are 2 parking spaces directly outside the property which was ideal for us.
We chose Longnor as there are shops, lovely tea rooms and a pub in the village, and nice walks nearby. My partner and I also rented bikes from Parsley Hay and cycled along the Tissington and High Peak trails which we thoroughly recommend.
All in all a lovely break and we would definitely come again.
Gorgeous cottage. The owners left the key for us and the cottage was decorated with fresh flowers on arrival with tea/coffee, milk and biscuits. Stayed with my partner and our mothers for the week. Plenty of space and it was very convenient to have the use two bathrooms and two toilets! Due to being higher up above the village there were lovely views of the dales out of the front windows although it was only a two minute walk to the post office and main village market place. Very scenic walks from longnor going towards villages of crowdecote and hollingsclough. Only one pub in Longnor appeared to be open the cheshire cheese which appeared to be busy with locals although did not sample the food. Excellent fish and chips from the fish and chip shop. Would certainly recommend cobbles tea shop (which sells local ice cream) and the craft shop tea room, both sell homemade cakes!! Pub food we went to The Royal Oak at hurdlow - twice both times excellent. the pack horse pub at crowdecote (1 mile away) is supposed to be very good but was fully booked for sunday lunch and closed Monday and Tuesday! Would certainly return as there is so much variety of activities in the area even without children..
Very warm and cosy, and well equipped. An excellent centre, and close to the village with shops, cafe, pub and very good fish and chip shop. We had a lovely week despite the weather.
The house was lovely, beautiful views and everything we needed.
Good house in a good location.
The owners were very helpful. The cottage was beautifully appointed, with every amenity. There were good walks straight from the property and the view from the front of the house was excellent. The village was quiet and it was pleasant to walk round it in the evening.
The cottage was beautifully presented and very comfortable. We found that the area was extremely interesting with more than enough to keep us busy for the whole week.
The cottage was very homely and had everything we needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great. Very comfortable and a friendly and helpful owner next door.
Spacious, attractive property that easily accommodated five friends. Good location within easy access of some nice towns and villages and a well-appointed village for supplies. Excellent fish and chips from the local take away and a delicious Sunday lunch in a pub about a mile away!
