Throughout the beautiful countryside visitors can find a maze of tracks and footpaths whilst nearby Levisham station is a stop on the North York Moors Steam Railway. The area also hosts a number of castles, historic houses and moorland villages, as well as a variety of fishing facilities.

Great location a stones throw from the moors, nice comfy cottage.. Easy to get out and about and only a short walk to the pub which did excellent food with friendly and helpful staff.

We had a great week in Harvest Cottage.. It is a very sweet cottage with everything you need for a break away. We were given a lovely welcome by Heather and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and clean. We have been to many cottages around the UK with our dog and this is definitely one of the best. Levisham is a lovely village with a fabulous pub (The Horseshoe Inn) but make sure you book beforehand, they get very busy (especially at Sunday lunchtime). Lots of great places to explore in the area and the North York Moors Railway is wonderful.

Heather gave a wonderful welcome with a personal touch of giving us home made cakes on arrival, this gave a more personal start to the holiday.. The cottage was clean, comfortable and we'll equipped. The welcome for both us and the dogs in the Horseshoe Inn was very friendly and the food was amazing. We had wonderful different walks on the Moors each day in the most glorious settings. Our whole holiday experience was amazing and we will be back again.

A beautiful, clean, well equipped little cottage and a warm, friendly Yorkshire welcome; we arrived to a tea tray set with delicious home baking.. The village, like the cottage, is immaculate and the pub serves great food and a range of beers and wines in a traditional, homely environment. There are numerous walks around the area, for every ability and it’s not far to the coast to visit Whitby. Heather, the owner, is cheerful and friendly and we felt that nothing would have been too much trouble if we’d asked, but we didn’t have to because it was already perfect! We highly recommend this cottage; a home from home and a haven of calm and tranquility in one of Britain’s most beautiful areas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay at Harvest Cottage. The cottage is tastefully decorated, cosy and never felt cold. It was amazingly well equipped beyond what we expected. To find it had working Wi-fi was a pleasant bonus. The surrounding area is peaceful. For a short get away it's perfect.

Myself and my husband Mick have just had the best ever holiday in Harvest cottage at Lilac farm Levisham North Yorkshire , truly Suniing. We were greeted by Heather a lovely lady , the cottage is so suited to our needs as we have 2 dogs . There is a lovely garden area secure to let them play in and for us to all sit in ,the morning for peace and quiet no road noise , only the peaceful sound of nature, It is a great base for visiting lots of other places within easy reach is Whitby ,Robin hood bay Staithes , NYMR in Pickering , Thornton le Dale to name a few places. returning at the end of a great day out to the tranquillity of Harvest cottage , The Horseshoe Inn is a great inn to have a drink and a meal.if you don't feel like cooking, I didn't on 4 occasions and the food is gorgeous, and washed down with a drink of your choice, ,To summice Best holiday Ever

Levisham was a great location for us, lots of walks for the dogs and not too far to travel to near by walks too.. There's only a pub in the village and it's very nice and food is great and not too costly either.

We spent a week in the lovely village of Levisham in January 2017 with our medium sized dog, Bert and Harvest Cottage was excellent. Heather was the perfect host and had made us some biscuits on arrival. Harvest cottage is perfect for a couple and their dog/dogs. There is ample off street parking and a garden to let your dog out into. The cottage is suitably equipped to stay for more than a week and was very snug and warm when the snow was falling outside. The area is lovely and quiet and perfect view of the stars - in other words, lovely for getting away from life and walking on the moors, that start at the end of the road. Hope to see you again soon.

I think it would be a good idea to include a single easy chair in addition to the double seated settee in the lounge as the settee was rather small.. Apart from this it was a well appointed cosy cottage, always warm and in a super location.
