The cottages I've stayed in were both lovely

The cottage was delightful, cosy yet had every thing we needed.. The owner came to see us on the first morning to explain some details to us and couldn’t have been more helpful. We woke to the sounds of birds chirping and sheep bleating...a refreshing change to car noises!

This Cottage was very comfortable and warm.. The views from windows were beautiful. Lots to do in this area . But it was great to get home to our own bed! Mattress was a little tired in double room. Cream tea to welcome us. Thank you. Very helpful owners.

It was a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.. Everything was perfect apart from one small thing. We were unable to use the dvd player as neither us or the owner could get it to play. He was going to fix it, but didn't. It would have been very useful on our one wet day.

We had a good time, the hosts are lovely and it's a great place to stay - the only reason it doesn't have a full smiley face regarding facilities is that we always book a place where internet/wifi is available.. We won't go anywhere that has not wifi because we use internet photo editing software, I have to be in touch with my work and for many other reasons. We were very disappointed (and had to use my husband's phone as a hot spot for two days) because the internet was patchy and intermittent - you can get internet but you have to be in a certain place in the building which isn't useful if you want to use your laptop to edit photos that you've taken! The laptop doesn't easily perch on the lovely beams!! But having said all that, we would like to reiterate that the place is beautiful and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. We did speak to them about this issue and they told us how they hope to resolve the issue in the near future. That would make it a 10/10!

The cottage was wonerdful, obviously built to a high specification.. It was warm, cosy and well equipped. The beds were extremely comfortable and together with the quiet surroundings, I had the best nights sleep I have had in years! We were fortunate enough to visit when there was no moon in the sky, because of the cottages location, the milky way was clearly visible in the sky at night, unfortunately there are not many places left in the uk where you can see nature at it's most awesome.

The peace and countryside views, together with the quality of accommodation. This is a delightful barn conversion with every possible convenience. The upside-down nature of the building gives a splendid outlook towards Torrington with stunning sunsets.

This upside barn conversion took advantage of the countryside views. It was clean and modern inside. Situated in a very peaceful spot yet within easy access to the beaches and attractions of Barnstaple and surrounding areas. The barn was one if three with the owners living in the detached house to the side providing B&B. The children loved to see the chickens and new born lambs.

Liked the peace and quiet, the glorious views, the sunsets, eating on the patio every evening and the friendliness of the owners, without being at all intrusive. Very good value for money. It really was a lovely place to come back to after a long day out. A real home from home!

We stayed for 1 week in early July, we had great weather and although the cottages are fairly remote, they are within 3 miles of the nearest town. The owners are in site and run a b&b in the main house. We have a 3 and 2 year old and they loved the setting with chickens and other small animals that were on the smallholding. The accommodation was of a high standard and there is a terrace which we used everyday. It is perfect for a break or holiday, so peaceful and yet very close proximity to local towns and beaches, we plan to return and highly recommend. David and Jenny, Crawley, West Sussex

The views are fantastic. The cottage is extremely comfortable with plenty of space. Although it is in a tranquil spot, it is very easy to reach the coast and other attractions. It was just what we needed to rest and recharge the batteries, and would have no hesitation in returning to Hartland View, or in recommending it to family and friends.
