Situated on the River Teme amongst the countryside of the Welsh Marches is the market town of Ludlow. These events take place beneath the impressive castle and showcase a range of local goods - from cheeses and fresh produce to books and crafts. Ludlow is renowned for its shopping, with a number of high quality antique and craft shops, along with several Michelin-starred restaurants, numerous tea-shops and pubs. The castle itself is over 900 years old and the Linney Riverside Park provides boat hire, a putting green and children's play area. Ludlow is within easy reach of Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Hereford, as well as popular attractions such as Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway and Berrington Hall.

Ludlow is a super town and Harris House is a short 5 minute walk to the centre. The house was exactly as described and very well equipped in the kitchen. The surrounding area is beautiful, eg Long Mynd and Shrewsbury.

This was a great property.. It was close enough to walk into Ludlow Town Centre, with the added advantage of off street parking. The property itself is very spacious and well equipped and we would be more than happy to stay there again.

Harris House is an excellent holiday house in an excellent location.. This was our second holiday based at Harris House and all that anyone needs to know about the property has already been said in the reviews below. Ludlow town is a gem in itself and within walking distance. The train station is nearer and only 7 minutes walk away and we used the train for visits on our 2 holidays to: Worcester, Hereford, Aberystwyth. We also took advantage of Heart of Wales Circular Day Ranger. This ticket takes a circular route. We departed and arrived back at Ludlow travelling via Craven Arms, the rural 100 mile Heart of Wales Line with its spectacular scenery and 29 stations, Llanelli, Cardiff, Abergavenny. We also visited the National Trust properties: Croft Castle and Berrington Hall.

Ludlow is a lovely place to visit, for walks, eclectic shops and pubs and a very relaxing break. Harris House is everything you have read already, superbly well equipped, comfy beds, lots of room, every consideration covered. Loved cooking here as I wasn't short of any equipment (with most self catering places they've missed something unusual). 10 minutes maximum walk to town and walks beyond but still extremely peaceful.

This house is a really lovely place to go on holiday.. It had everything you would need and was extremely spacious and comfortable and very well equipped. The garden was fantastic, I met the gardener and had a nice chat with him about the plants. It's a great place to sit out in on a sunny day and even has some herbs you can use for cooking. We would definitely recommend Harris House to anyone wanting to visit Ludlow. The local area is great, it has got castles, a market, museums and good walks, as well as all the local amenities and a market and good restaurants. We went to Hay on Wye for the day which was absolutely wonderful for people who love books. Also my partner found a great vinyl shop in Ludlow that he says is worth visiting if that is your thing. Overall we would recommend this holiday cottage without hesitation, as well as the area. It would suit families with younger children and older family groups as well.

So Glad we found Harris House, Ludlow.. Wanted to take my 83 year old father away for a relaxing week as he had been poorly. Luckily we picked the Early May Bank holiday that was the hottest on Record. Our family has never rented a holiday home before so we really did not know what to expect. I am now afraid, because our expectations were exceeded, Harris House has now set the Gold standard bar for future holiday lets in other destinations. In fact – we may not go elsewhere and carry on going to Ludlow every year because this house had everything and our time spent there was lovely and relaxing. The owners sent a lovely email a few weeks before our due date (05.05.18 - 12.05.18), and from the tone of that you could tell that nothing was a problem – just to contact them had you any concerns. I want to repeat everything everyone has complimented and mentioned on the sykes cottage website, i.e Spotless, quiet location, stones throw away from Ludlow town, handy to A49 to reach other desitnations, household kit / appliances to very good standard, everything to hand, everything thought of. It also felt actually felt very homely and very peaceful. You did not feel out of place or scared to move. My father has difficulties with his mobility - but this house was perfect for anyone with these issues as everything was spaced out and it was not cluttered, so nothing to bang into and the stairs had a solid banister to help him. The shower was a power shower – so that made me very happy, and the view when doing the dishes out the window – money could not buy. Even doing dishes made me happy that week. It truly is a great place to stay.

Harris House was beautiful in every way so spacious and comfortable we felt at home straight away. We had great weather while there so took advantage of the well kept back garden. Ludlow is a great bustling market town with so many places on the doorstep to explore. We look forward to returning and sampling more of it's fabulous cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Extremely well equipped and so spacious.. So very much provided that we didnt expect but the one thing that was missing and would have been most welcome was a pint of milk. Still, we didn't have far to walk to remedy the situation. And considering all that was provided it seems a small point to mention. The details sent by the owner were most comprehensive and everything was as he described.

This is a very comfortable and well equipped house in a quiet area of Ludlow only a short walk from the town and the station; it is ideal for walkers as there are lovely walks in Ludlow by the castle and along the river.. There are many attractions a short drive away, e.g. Croft Castle, Stokesay Castle, views from the Clee Hills, Bridgnorth and Arley Arboretum. We travelled by train to Shrewsbury and to explore Church Stretton and walk on The Long Mynd. We had sunny Autumnal weather and enjoyed a fabulous holiday.

Harris house was exceptional with regard to how well it was equipped.. It had everything you would normally expect and then some. I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone visiting Ludlow. Our main reason for visiting was the food fair and it was also very good.

Harris House was cosy, comfortable, spacious and light. The house is conveniently located for the town centre and all the local amenities. There is plenty of off-road parking which is handy. Ludlow is a beautiful little town. Great independent shops and restaurants with friendly, helpful staff. There is plenty to do and see locally.

We spent a fantastic week in Ludlow in this house. It is just a few minutes walk from central Ludlow, a beautiful ,small town in south Shropshire, surrounded by countryside perfect for exploring and walking. The house has enough space for three cars parking. Three bedrooms fitted out with wonderfully comfortable beds and duvrets. The kitchen has plenty of space to eat in, is perfect for every level of chef or cook and a great view from the widow to the hills and church. A formal dining room and a very comfortable lounge go with this house as well as a great garden . Yes we loved this space. The owner was always available to us by phone and though we did not meet with him sounded very helpful. A highlight of our visit to Britain.

We stayed at Harris House to celebrate my Mother's 60th Birthday with 3 generations of family. The property was excellently equipped, there wasn't a single thing we didn't have available to us. Bedding and towels were included as was washing up liquid, hand soap and basic kitchen essentials such as tea, coffee, salt, pepper etc. The owner offers use with a request to replace what you finish off. The kitchen had everything we needed plus more. The property is very spacious and great for all ages, lots of room for an under 2 to explore with stair gates, high chair and travel cot provided. Short walk to Ludlow town centre, with lots of cafe's, pubs, restaurants and independent shops. Would definitely stay again.
