Area
The small village of Milson boasts an 11th century church and beautiful unspoilt countryside. The nearby riverside village of Neen Sollars dates back to the Saxon times and is home to the popular 'Live and Let Live' pub serving real ale and home-cooked food. Just three miles away, beneath the shadow of the mystical Clee Hills, the pretty town of Cleobury Mortimer provides a refreshing selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in an array of Georgian and Tudor architecture, along with a striking parish church with an unusual, twisted spire.

Region
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Ham's House is very comfortable and made a wonderful location for our Christmas holiday.. A good range of beautiful walks are available locally, including a number that pass nearby. The property is also within easy reach of some great market towns, including Cleobury Mortimer, Tenbury Wells and Ludlow. Clare and Richard are great hosts and ensured that we had all that we needed. The Live and Let Live Inn in nearby Neen Sollars is not to be missed, offering lots of history, a warm welcome and a great menu. The cottage is well equipped and the only addition we would welcome is a washing machine, if this were possible.

Farther away then expected.. Only 1 key provided & had to have it to even lock yourself in so you either all left at once or you got locked in & couldn't get out when others left & took key.

We had "syked ourselves up" to enjoy the luxury (on our Golden Wedding celebrations) of Underfloor Heating.. However, the installed system decided otherwise. From our arrival @ 1520 on Fri 26/10/18 we had NO UNDERFLOOR heating, upstairs or down, until arriving back @ Hams House @ 1545 Mon 29/10/18. ( The expert plumber, Mr Thompson [needed for such a complicated system ] was not available until Mon 29th. And my, what a difference it was from Monday eve ! Just liked we'd paid for and expected from a reputable company ! Yes, Clare Venner provided us with an oil filled radiator heater. But this of course, still meant bare, cold, timber flooring, purposefully installed to enhance the underfloor heating experience - when it was working. As this experience was listed in the features, it was obviously a consideration in the pricing and something which attracted us to this property. If the property had been listed with oil-filled radiator . . . well, it wouldn't have got a look in. Therefore, we only received 4/7 of the stated highly important feature for an October/November holiday break. It's about now that you should be offering about £50 refund as a tangible way of showing your concern. I'd have emailed sooner but this alternative google a/c of mine, is not visited very often. Yours Ron Taylor

Unfortunately, although the cottage looks very attractive, it doesn't show the proximity to the owners house.. The seats were in effect in the owners drive/car park.

Lovely cottage in a quiet location.. The cottage had everything we needed and a just a short drive to Tenbury Wells and Cleobury Mortimer, or Ludlow a bit further afield. Would definitely recommend, looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely cottage in peaceful setting but disappointed in outdoor facilities.. No privacy and no outside area in which to relax.

This really is an excellent property in first class condition.. Would very happily go here again. Worth waking early for wonderful sunrises straight on to the bed - incredible. Only nit-picking comment - washing machine would be far more useful than dishwasher. All in all a most enjoyable stay.

We booked this cottage for two nights. The location is quite remote and lovely with really nice views. We briefly met the owner when we first arrived and although the cottage is within the owner's land we felt we had space and privacy. The cottage was clean, bright, warm and very comfortable with everything you might need. Also, the owner had left some fresh milk, eggs and apple juice which was a very nice gesture. We had a lovely time.

Spent a few nights in Hams House. Everything provided by the owner including a welcome pack. Property was well maintained and clean. The only item we could not find was a hairdryer but other than that everything was fine. Great location a peaceful and ideal retreat.

An absolutely brilliant one bed barn conversion in a really lovely setting. There is lots to do in the area when you have a car - I was told the walking in the area is also excellent. If you want a quiet location, this is the place for you.

A barn conversion that has been thoughtfully planned and implemented to a very high standard and finish. The location is very rural and peaceful which provided a very restful break.
