The Cottage was beautiful, fully equipped, in a perfect location, with the viaduct above and river opposite the cottage, and was a great location for The Lakes and Yorkshire Dales etc.. We visited many places. We are lovers of steam, so went to visit some heritage railways. We went for a ride on the Emsby and Bolton Abbey Railway and North Yorkshire Moors Railway to Goathland, Two brilliant trips. The steam gondola on Coniston Water, a lovely trip and so beautiful. Had a look too, at the Little House at Ambleside. Skipton for the canals, if you like boat trips, we did two. I loved the old traditional canal boat. Haworth is a must, the village is very steep, but well worth it. While there, go to see The Cabinet of Curiosities, excellent!. Fantastic shop. The Bronte Parsonage, with chickens running about with their chicks, in the churchyard. Many other sights to see, in surrounding areas, including Ribblehead Viaduct, which has 24 arches, a perfect place for walkers. Kirkstone Pass, near Ambleside and the Lakes. its the highest pass, open to traffic. Very beautiful scenery and very high with the inn, at the top. Thorton le Dale near Pickering is one of the most prettiest villages and is well worth a look at. Plus as, there are many other places we visited, were. All in all the most perfect holiday.
