Great little cottage, all we needed, simple welsh cottage.. A little disappointing we couldn’t use the lovely private seating area at the back. Only negative was the main bed, felt like a camp bed!

This is a lovely cottage and the fire is fab! It's a really quiet area and close to lots of lovely snowdonia villages. However we went in a wet february half term and there is NOTHING to do really indoors anywhere at this time of year so we came home early. Overall the cottage is really nice but the beds are uncomfortable and need new mattresses we felt.

We stay in holiday cottages twice a year and this cottage is easily amongst the best.. It was spotlessly clean with everything you could need for a home from home. A very thoughtful welcome pack for us and also one for our springer spaniel was left by owners Angie and Rich together with logs and coal for the wood burner (which we used every night) and even some lavender sleep spray in the bedroom which I loved. The information file must have taken hours to put together with everything from how to work the tv and central heating to places to visit, where to eat and detailed walks to do. Really helpful and useful which We referred to often. There is nothing negative I can think of to say about this cottage. Would very highly recommend.

We had a very relaxing stay in this well equipped and immaculate cottage.. The welcome pack was excellent as were the special doggy items. The little garden was lovely for coffee and reading with very comfortable furniture. The stairs are steep,an additional hand rail might be useful ,but I got used to them.We had a great stay and are planning to return.

This was a brilliant little cottage, very warm and cosy with lots of period features.. The cottage is situated on a very quiet cul-de-sac lane with a stream running by the front. There is a parking area, and the lane is well lit at night. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and the beds very comfy. The owners left a welcome pack which included treats for the dogs as well as the humans!! The cottage is an ideal location to several local attractions, which are also featured in the in depth information guide which the owners have clearly put a lot of time and effort into compiling. I would recommend this cottage and would definitely return.

Our last night at this cozy cottage. Only a short break but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lovely views to the front of the cottage, some great walks too. Central to places of interest and we would recommend Beddgelert, a beautiful village about 30 mins drive away. The accommodation itself has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The owners also going that extra mile with little welcome extras! Much appreciated and we would highly recommend. Thank you for a relaxing stay!

The kitchen is small but functional.. The living area is a good size, it felt really comfortable. Bed rooms are also are also a good size. Would and probably will visit again. The yard out back is very small but there is also a small yard at the front and an area opposite which can be used for dogs.

Amazing little cottage, our second stay in 2018.. The owners go the extra mile to ensure your stay is lovely-this time we were left a host of Christmas goodies, treats and even crackers for us and our dogs, milk, butter, wine and pop in the fridge is perfect too! We love staying here.

Such a cosy cottage in an idyllic setting.. It is very well presented and is well equipped. We really appreciated the comfy beds and the wood burner to stave off the chilly evenings. All in all we had a brilliant week and we would love to return in the future. We would highly recommend a stay at Glan-yr-Afon cottage

We had a nice holiday and it was a nice cosy place, but unfortunately the mattress felt uncomfortable, which led us to have slight lower backache..

The owners of the cottage have gone to great lengths to ensure their visitors have everything there they might need.. The bathroom and kitchen were generously stocked with items to give visitors a good start to their holiday and the welcome pack of wine, crisps and biscuits were a nice touch. There were even goodies for the dog. This is a very comfortable and well equipped place to stay while enjoying the stunning surroundings.

It is the little touches that make this fantastic cottage a home from home.. A shelf full of the spices / herbs you always forget and then try to do without as you don’t want to buy a whole jar, the wood and coal to get the fire roaring and oh yes, the Easter Egg. There are great walks direct from the cottage to be enjoyed for all abilities. We would certainly return.

We have had a truly wonderful break.. The cottage is perfect in every way and we didn’t want to come home. The cottage is a real home from home. We had wine, crisps biscuits and milk on arrival and the dogs even had blankets and treats left for them. We arrived late and Angie had left the light and heating on for us which was so kind. The cottage is so cosy the children loved it and we had real fires every night. The local area is so beautiful and we did some amazing walks, for hours and hours all from the fabulous guest information folder that had been put together by the owners- we loved reading the history of the house too. All in all a perfect break and we have booked to go back for New Years. Thank you.

A very homely cosy cottage that is well equipped. We really enjoyed our time here and would go back.

The Cottage was an excellent 'interpretation' of an original slate-worker's home in a slate quarrying village. It carried the sense of that way of life into the modern idiom without losing touch with the original. You could feel the history in the slate and stone. Ideally located for everything the area has to offer, which is a huge amount.

September 2013
The cottage was very warm and inviting. The standard was very high, and little extras provided that you do not get in a lot of places. There was a wealth of information on attractions, which proved to be very useful. All in all this cottage is one of the best we have stayed in, and we hope to return in the near future as there is still so much more to explore.
Mrs Burton

The cottage was comfortable and pretty, and the front garden was nice too. The bedrooms were a good size and had plenty of storage space.

May 2013
There was so much attention to detail by the owners. Loved the effort they had put in to suggesting activities, restaurants, local walks etc. It was great to have extras like OS maps and compass, tea, coffee, milk, wine and especially bara brith! There was literally nothing that we wanted or needed which wasn't already in the cottage. We needn't have taken so much stuff!

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage, ideal for us. Lovely situation, conveniently located for day-to-day supplies in Blaenau. The Visitor Information manual gave us a clear idea of the thought and care which had gone into the restoration of the cottage, (beautifully done!), which was of great interest and most entertaining. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Apart from the sofas which we found too low - we are both 70+ - we had every comfort we could hope for. The area was lovely with interesting early morning walks around the village. We found a delightful cafe nearby and enjoyed the trains and slate mines. Everyone we met was friendly and kind. Super

Everything we expected. A delightful two up/two down terraced cottage, with a downstairs extension containing a well equipped kitchen and a decent sized bathroom. Rest of the house was neat, tidy and certainly the best rental we've stayed in. Nice welcome pack, umbrellas in the hallway, log fire, Satellite freeview TV, games, books, maps etc. We would definitely visit again and recommend to friends.

The cottage was ideally placed for a lot of the local attractions and had some great walks from the doorstep. The welcome gifts from the owners were a particularly nice touch.

April 2011
The cottage was fantastic to come back to at the end of the day. We had two different types of weather, very bad and very good, in both styles the cottage was immense. Everything and extra was taken care of, tea, coffee, compasses, extensive tour guide, games, dvd's, accouterments for the bathroom and bedrooms and 2 nights log fire requirements. Everything and beyond was thought of even a washer dryer. All was well thought of. Thank you.
