Stayed in Cae Caled as Covid restrictions were eased so that we could visit family living in Bodfari. My son and family also joined us in another cottage in the grounds. Our four granddaughters thoroughly enjoyed all the outside space and both cottages were very comfortable with beautiful views of surrounding countryside. Cae Caled, in particular, was roomy with a lovely bedroom and adjacent bathroom. The properties stand at the end of a long lane and offer a very peaceful and quiet environment. Ideal for separate families meeting up as there are different size properties. A larger one is currently being renovated to accommodate larger groups. Owners were very friendly and live on site should you require anything. Great position with both sea and mountains a short drive away.

After a loud busy family Christmas, the two of us and dog wanted somewhere of decent quality that’s quiet and peaceful. After looking at several places on Sykes site, we fell upon this place and booked. So pleased we did as well. Great communication from the owners prior to our stay. Directions to the place (it’s well hidden away) were perfect. The owner was there on arrival to show us around and told us a few places we might want to visit The Prosecco in the fridge for new year a really nice touch. The place itself is largely open plan and very spacious Lovely wooden flooring Large fully equipment kitchen and a Very comfortable 2x2 seaters leather sofa Tv and DVD player as well as a music system. Some lovely wooden stairs to the open bedroom above and a huge super king size bed - really comfortable. Now the bathroom has a superb bath (see pictures on the trip advisor site) Talk about luxury after a 15 mile walk with the dog. I’m 6ft and this bath was ample !! A shame lone shower cubicale as well. The whole cottage was lovely homely abs clean and we will definitely stay when we next venture to North Wales. Highly recommend, you’ll not be disappointed

I booked Cae Caled for 2 nights on October as we were going to a wedding at a venue close by. We arrived on a very dark and rainy Friday night but were given a warm welcome by the owners who came out in the rain to greet us. The cottage was lit and the heating was on making it nice and cosy for our arrival. A bottle of red wine left on the table for us was a nice touch. The cottage was beautifully finished with solid wood floors, a full kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, a beautiful wooden spiral staircase and rustic wooden bed frame and a log-burner which had been prepared for us ready to light complete with extra logs and kindling. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and the en-suite bathroom had a gorgeous free standing bath and separate shower. The bed was super comfy and huge so we had a great couple of nights sleep. We couldn't appreciate the setting until daylight the next day but the views from the cottage are of the gorgeous Welsh countryside and I would have loved to have had time to explore- that'll have to wait until next time! Tahnks for a lovely stay- we will be back soon I am sure!

Had a beautiful stay with my girlfriend( now fiancée) Views were stunning as you can see from one of many photographs we took! This was a superb sunset, and view from a walk up on the hills (can’t remember the welsh name moul fammu?) Cottage was clean and airy in the heat wave and warm in evening. We had a couple of bbq’s , the kitchen had all bits and bobs we needed. Bed was massive and very Comfy, bathroom was luxurious. The whole place was decorated with some beautiful hand picked antiques and we loved the staircase!! Very special weekend I popped the question and she said ....YES!!

Absolutely gutted our week here went so fast. Just absolutely stunning. The cottage and the location and views. So many walks to do and not enough time. Everything you could want for a nice relaxing refresh. Highly recommend taking a hot soak after a day of walking! The owners were great for help and recommendations. We're definitely coming back.. sold Wales to us!!

We have a totally wonderful stay , such a bonus to find a lovely dog friendly cottage, the views are picturesque the cottage has a amazing bathroom, if you like a relaxing soak in the evening and a powerful shower for the mornings. The bedroom is large and airy with a massive bed. The owners could not have been any more helpful, and brought us temporary deck chairs as the new outdoor furniture was being delivered the next day. The outdoor swimming pool was a great bonus as the weather was extremely hot. We found plenty to do in the area, lovely towns nearby and some great nature walks. loggerheads country park is only 15mins away, this has long or short walks with a great licensed cafe and gift shop. There is also a fantastic pub close by which serves amazing food and has great views plus is also dog friendly . We are looking forward to our next visit.

The Cottage was a peaceful haven for me and my dog. There are beautiful views from the Cottage and one can walk down to the river through the fields.

The good: • There was a Peahen and two Guineafowl that live by the cottage. They're very tame and a fascinating addition. • The wi-fi was stable with good speed and coverage • The cottage is in a lovely area with amazing views! The bad: • While the decoration is good it feels like a cottage that was decorated well a few years ago and left relatively unloved since then with lots of dust and cobwebs, and lots of light bulbs dead and unreplaced. • The bed was uncomfortable. • The boiler died twice during our stay. The first time it happened we had a very difficult time trying to find someone to help us and when we did they couldn't help and told us to text/call the owners who were abroad. This was all deeply unsatisfactory! • The interesting birds are cool but they do... leave their mark. The outdoor table and chairs were unusable because of this. The owners dogs also contributed to this problem, though not on the table and chairs.

A faultless cottage. Clean and well equipped, warm and inviting. Perfect for a week away from it all. Plenty big enough for the 2 of us and our 2 border collies. Lovely garden area for the dogs to run around freely. This area of North Wales is stunning. The views from the patio doors both in the living area and the bedroom are awesome. You are never far from the remote hills, quaint villages, or bustling towns. The cottage is ideally located whatever your pastime may be. The owners were delightful and helpful and have a clear pride in their beautiful property which is immaculate. I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to anyone. We will definitely return...hopefully soon. Richard & Sue

The cottage is beautiful and well equipped and the location is little short of perfection. The owners are on site and friendly and helpful. If you need to get away and have a complete break then this is the place to go. Take plenty of books and good food and wine, walk the spectacular scenery in the day, light the log burner and cosy up at night. It was a wonderful experience and I shall return.

A very cosy, warm cottage & a Warm Welcome from Hugh to match ! Set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings Cae Caled is the perfect escape from the hustle & bustle of city life, yet Denbigh is only a short drive away. We took our dog along, he loved roaming safe & free in the fields & gardens surrounding the cottage, Hugh was more than happy for him to do this. We didn't get chance to take a dip in the pool, hardly the weather in October, but we could see the pool would be very tempting during the summer. The open plan design of the cottage was lovely and if the weather had been kinder to us we'd have loved to throw open the large patio doors and sit looking across the fields over breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening. As it was October we chose to snuggle by the log burning fire, we lit some candles and created a home from home - perfect ! As for the bedroom - what a huge comfortable bed, we struggled to leave its snugness especially on one winters morning while we listened to wind & rain beat down around us - the bath is also large & deep and perfect for soaking your aching muscles after a long day walking. The cottage was very clean, homely, warm and perfect to return to after a long day exploring North Wales and everything Wales has to offer. We would definitely return and highly recommend to others ! Thank You Hugh & Linda for providing a much needed relaxing time & Thank You for the drinks you bought us at the Kimnel Arms - a very nice touch and Zac loved the fact they were all so very dog friendly - We found the food & hospitality there was perfect too !!

The owners were present but unobtrusive and very relaxed and friendly. The setting was beautiful and so peaceful. After several years of heartache and difficulties, I returned from my holiday in Cae Caled cottage feeling relaxed and refreshed. It is a haven and one we will return regularly over the years.

The cottage is beautifully situated and very well equipped. There are wonderful views from all windows and a great sun-trap outside where you can bask in the sunshine. The owners live in the adjoining farmhouse and were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed trips to Snowdonia - check out the Welsh Slate Museum at Llanberis (free entry) and Llangollen has plenty of attractions.

This is a beautiful cottage attached to the main house and has lovely views of fields and hills from the french windows and bedroom balcony. It's at the end of a long narrow country lane (lots of potholes, so drive very slowly and carefully!) and is so peaceful. The cottage has been tastefully renovated, with a hand crafted wooden spiral staircase and 6ft bed. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we would thoroughly recommend this place if you want a quiet and/or romantic getaway. (Although the guinea-fowl was a bit noisy in the morning sometimes!) Plenty of places to visit nearby, castles, walks etc.

The cottage is the most perfect place for a romantic get away. The wildlife are very entertaining, chickens, guinea fowl and swans sharing the garden. Even though it wasnt that warm, we were still able to enjoy a swim in the pool. The hosts are about but dont bother you. The bathromm is fantastic massive double bed. Its just a very magical place. Loved it, cant wait to return

This cottage was so perfect, relaxing and romantic I brought my plans for a proposal forward from next year to this week away. The grounds of the farm and the surrounding country side were beautiful and I proposed down by the river, which was the perfect location - and of course she said yes! The cottage could not have been more perfect. The bed is amazing to look at and even better to sleep in!
