My sat nav took me to the wrong farm to begin because of the postcode being the same but I was kindly directed to the correct farm.. I had an amazing stay in the quaint little cottage which was perfect for me being a solo traveller. It had everything I needed and was very cosy. I took most things with me but there is a garage with a shop nearby which is handy if you run out of anything. The views from the farm are just stunning and I loved that it was a working farm. Mike the farmer is a lovely friendly man. I absolutely loved staying there and can't wait to return!

Fantastic holiday cottage far from the madding crowd on a proper working Farm.. Mike the Farmer is a lovely man and nothing was too much trouble for him. The cottage was very clean and warm with a comfy bed and a well equipped Kitchen area. We made all our food in there from breakfasts to three Course meals. I came home after staying at Gable View and rebooked the same day. I highly recommend Gable View if you want a holiday to get away from it all.

Like anywhere different to your own home it takes a day or two so to settle in, that didn't take long and it was a very comfortable stay at Gable View.. Everything you might need that you may have forgotten to bring with you seemed to be there. Great location too for the fells around Wast Water Lake including Scafell Pike and Great Gable, which you can see from the property, hence the name 'Gable View' presumably. You know when you have had a good week when you're not ready for coming home!

The location of the cottage was an ideal base for exploring both by car and on foot. The view of the fields and mountains from the front window was breathtaking. Seascale and its long, clean sandy beach makes for an excellent dog walk. I loved the fact that the cottage is on a working farm and the owner is a lovely bloke who was very helpful.

We had a fabulous long weekend in a cosy little farm cottage with everything we needed. The setting is tranquil and far enough removed from routine and large conurbations to allow you to step out of the rat race and relax, time to recharge and rediscover ourselves. Close to Muncaster Castle and the Western Lake District coastline. The host Michael, is charming and thoughtful, eager to meet his guests needs. Look forward to returning next year.
