Fowey Cottage Torquay, Devon

We found this cottage spacious, clean, comfortable and well-equipped.. Nice to have the garden. Good location away from the hustle of Torquay town/sea front/harbour but within easy reach by a very punctual half hourly bus service that stops virtually outside the property and terminates at the harbour. Good if you are holidaying without a car as we were. Co-op within five minutes walk and large Asda slightly further afield, still within walking distance. We enjoyed our short stay and this cottage was a good base for visiting Torquay, Brixham, Paignton and Babbacombe without a car.

Accommodation very good,nice area,easy access to roads for travelling to other areas outside Torquay especially to the South Hams beaches,only minus for us because of our disabilities was the stairs leading up to front door but we managed quite well.. We enjoyed our stay there.

Very comfortable quite a good place to relax amenities (shop pub and takeaway)near by, with the added convenience of a bus route going past the house..

Everything fine bus outside very frequent but takes longer than you think to reach the centre no problem if you’re not in a hurry.. Bus fares very reasonable

We stayed at Fowey cottage for two weeks whilst visiting Torquay. It is a good base for exploring we had days out in Paignton, Brixham, Exeter,Totnes and Dartmouth. We found the beaches limited in Torquay mainly due to the tides and pebbles so our days out at the beach were mainly on Goodrington sands in Paignton. The cottage looks good on the photos but close up inside it does need some attention. The area for most attention would be the bathroom with its terrible shower curtain and water that seems to change temperature whilst in the shower.

Our stay at Fowey Cottage was fab! Right from the beginning with a welcome text from the owners through to the last day and a thank you email. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need for time away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Lovely elevated position with good distant views, however cars and busses passing at some speed occasionally! Quite steep steps to front door.

Excellent accommodation spacious and clean.. Patio suntrap,highly recommend. Excellent communication with owners.

Very cozy, very clean.. Ultra modern but comfy and inviting. Great communication from the owners prior to the holiday. I will definitely be back!

Very nice and clean house.. Lots of utensils and was very happy to have a washing machine. The heating came on when needed and the electric fire came in handy when it was a bit chilly. There were plenty of shops nearby and lots of beaches and places to visit within half an hour.

This bungalow was perfect for us.. There were 2 adults, a 12 year old and an 18 year old staying here. The whole place was spotless and was really comfortable. The kitchen had all the utensils, pans, pots etc to make self catering really do-able. There was a large fridge freezer and a large washing machine. These things made it so much better than staying in a caravan which is what we have done on previous holidays. There were fresh towels and all the bed linen was supplied. The outside space was particularly lovely. There was a private suntrap at the back with patio table and chairs and a bench and a lovely gravelled area. It was so nice to sit outside in the sun in the morning and have coffee. The bungalow has a private driveway for parking, which again was perfect. It is a quiet area but on a main bus route if you don't want to take the car. The local shops are a short walk away. There is a really good fish and chip shop that caters for all, including vegans (perfect for my daughter). There were even some board games and paperbacks in the property. There is a large tele with all the extra channels, and a dvd player. The bed has a memory foam mattress. There is a big Asda supermarket a few minutes away in the car and a Morrisons in Paignton. There is plenty to do nearby. Paignton Zoo is a really good day out. The beaches are lovely and there are loads of traditional seafront arcades to spend your money in! Totnes is a lovely little old fashioned town not too far away with a hippy, arty feel to it, lots of quaint shops and bakeries. All in all we would recommend the accommodation and the area for families and singles alike.

The weather makes all the difference to the holiday itself of course but, the flat has all that is required in the way of facilities.. It is a pleasant place to come back to after a day out: spacious, clean and comfortable. It is one of the best holiday lets I've been to. S.N.

Nice, single floor house above a garage.. Lots of space for family of four. Master bedroom had lots of room. Nice and clean house. Everything we needed. Good strong shower. Well situated nears shops and then short drives to the beach and nearby locations. Really fast internet so could stream our own shows online to watch.

The property was in a very quiet position but the Bus services were excellent which made travelling into Torquay very easy.. An excellent property with all the facilities we needed.

Fabulous holiday bungalow great only thing massive we found the mattress on double bed very uncomfortable to hard,great location all in all was great would definitely stay there again..

The Cottage is in a great location central to the many facilities that Torquay has to offer, it is also next to a frequent Bus Service. The cottage is well laid out and we were made very welcome by the owners. We will definitely return to Fowey Cottage.
