Wonderful cottage with delightful courtyard, could not be more central within the village
Dr Cresswell, September 2020
Tired, needs some TLC, Sleeping difficult due to old mattresses, springs could be felt even on sitting.. Aware pet friendly place On booking but dog smell needs addressing, quite unpleasant.
Well equipped, Gr8 location. Was a shame really, but definitely has potential to be a Gr8 place.
Mrs Sands, September 2020
Our 3rd time at this fantastic cottage - perfect for our extended family and dogs..
Mrs Dunling, August 2020
Loved its quirkiness
Nice back yard for kids to play to
Brilliant fir hide n seek lol
Middle of town so easy access to all facilities
Some of which are still trying to recover from COVID.. Lockdown
Recommend you book before staying to eat out
Plenty to see and do in the area
9 of us and we didn’t have TV on once
This cottage was booked as a Christmas present from our twins & we combined it with their birthday celebration. Old, creaky & quirky well presented cottage that served to 9 of us well. Annex did have a problem with the boiler but a phone call to the owner it was sorted it quickly. Kitchen does need some up dating as cupboard doors hanging down & oven temperamental, however it was well stocked with utensils. Really handy having the Coop next door. Great bathroom, showers & wood burner, very cosy after wet walking! Wifi worked well for us all.
Only real problem was the parking to empty & pack your cars as double yellow lines outside on a one way system, however parked on The Three Horseshoes car park and put a donation in the box.
Ingleton is a village pretty, with plenty of cafes, pubs & Indian restaurants and the Falls are just down the road & there are lots of good walks from the cottage.

Mrs Grimshaw, January 2020
Excellent place to stay, very spacious, cosy and Comfortable.. Location is perfect for walking and visiting local attractions and villages. The village itself has everything you need for a weekend away. Would100% recommend
Miss Dack, November 2019
Just back from a lovely long weekend, 5 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs.. Fountain cottage is a lovely place to stay in an ideal location.close to the shops and the pubs and the beautiful walks. The cottage has everything you need for a home for home place to stay, its well equipped and clean and a comfortable cosy place to chill out after a day sightseeing and walking. And the lovely enclosed courtyard was perfect for our two dogs. We all loved it and would highly recommend it.
Unfortunately kitchen smelt of vomit since the day we got there, despite mopping the floor 3 times and washing down the cupboards.. Stains on both pillow cases in kids bedroom, main light and 1 touch lamp did not work in that bedroom also. King size Bed very uncomfortable, gave us both a bad back. The two singles in the annexe did not push together to make a double which was inconvenient for the couple staying in there.
The cottage was spacious and had everything we needed.. The location was perfect with everything in walking distance. We had a perfect holiday and cannot wait to return. I am already recommending Fountain House to friends and family.
All the family loved the cottage.. The cottage was cosy and warm. It felt like home from home. Everything was available within the cottage and places to visit were close. Really enjoyed staying here. Would go again but for longer. Would recommend.
Really lovely cottage, had everything we could possibly need.. Very comfortable and cosy, we will return
This was a perfect cottage for our annual family get together, there was 8 of us including two children and two dogs. The additional annexe made this property spacious yet really warm and cosy. The location is fantastic and everything is within walking distance. The Three Horseshoes next door was ideal pub in which to watch the rugby. My best part was climbing Ingleton Falls as it is beautiful yet incredibly close. Thanks Claire for being so helpful and friendly.
Fantastic cottage - 2nd time there and would definitely return again.. Ideal for our diverse family of all ages - our dogs loved the location as well. Lovely lounge where we could all chill out together in front of log fire playing games and sharing time together. Would highly recommend.
Lovely old cottage in a great location (middle of the village but totally secluded! ). Only thing we didn't like was the bed … a sprung mattress and a really low bed - reminded me why we switched to memory-foam a long time ago! Really secure garden was important with three dogs (including a Working Cocker who likes to jump) so the high wall gave privacy and security.
Whilst the house was lovely, very rustic and quaint, the uneven floors upstairs and the badly fitting, squeaky, creaking doors we feel we should have been warned about.. We were a family of 6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs and though the living area was a good size the kitchen was barely adequate for us all to cook and eat in though there were plenty of pots etc. We did not have enough towels for us all so it was a good job we had taken extra (for swimming) which we had to use for bathing/showering. The beds in the annex were not particularly comfortable and condusive to a good nights' sleep. The general area is beautiful and Ingleton Falls and the outdoor heated swimming pool are not to be missed.
Had a wonderful time here.. ....would definetly recommend.
Enjoyed my stay here, situated in a great location with pubs, restaurants and walks all on the doorstep..
The cottage was well placed in the village and had a lovely courtyard .. Unfortunately we all felt it needed a good deep clean and a complete overhaul decoration wise. It was comfortable and roomy for 9 people but the oven was nowhere near up to standard and if we did use it it took forever to heat up !!!!!! Such a shame as ingleton is a beautiful village and as I said the cottage is perfectly placed but wasn’t as nice as we expected. The utility room and annex are fantastic though , just the main building could do with some tlc, maybe to bring it up to the standard of the bathroom in the main part , as that is lovely .
Lovely cottage and annex.. Plenty of room for 8 of us plus dogs, suited all ages from 9 to 68. lovely central position to shops restaurants and pubs and lovely walks right on the doorstep.
Fountain House is an ideal base for walkers.. Everything is on your door stop. The cottage is fab, lovely, warm and spacious. This is my second visit and I couldn't fault anything. The welcome card and chocolates were a lovely touch as well. We will certainly be back.
Lynne, John and Alan the dog from Bury, Lancs
Great location for pubs and shops and great for the Ingleton walk.. Cottage warm and cosy. Like others have mentioned cooker a bit small for cooking for 4 or more. Had a great weekend.
One of the best cottages we have rented in recent years, perfectly located in the centre of Ingleton overlooking the church. Stayed with friends and both bedrooms in the main cottage were beautifully presented and the bathroom can only be described as stunning. The modern central heating and boiler system made the cottage cosy and warm with the added bonus of a real log fire for us traditional types. The annexe makes this perfect for a family break while a fully enclosed courtyard was ideal for our pet dog.
The owners Richard and Claire answered all our questions before arrival and it is clear that this cottage is very much a labour of love. Would highly recommend for both a winter and summer break.
Lovely house in a great location for walking.. Delighted to find the house trimmed up for Christmas for our New Years stay. Spacious rooms and gorgeous bathroom. A little lacking in cupboard space to put food etc. Owner very friendly and helpful. Would def book again if going to the area.
2 couples and 3 dogs ! We spent a very happy week here at beginning of July. Plenty of space and well equipped. Lovely bathrooms. Really appreciated the outside laundry room as we are walkers who can get rather muddy at times. Rear courtyard nice and private, ideal for bbq's, would be even better with a hot tub !!! We also struggled with the small temperamental cooker as did a previous reviewer but managed. Ideally situated for walking in the dales and Ingleton is a beautiful village as are all surrounding areas.
What a fantastic cottage and area
We will definitely be back
loved the house and the location, the only down sides was the oven and the lighting in the kitchen ,the oven is tiny and it takes twice as long to cook anything,as the house and annex sleeps up to 9 you couldn't cook a family meal it was more like a small caravan oven ,and the lighting is very poor in the kitchen we bought a new bulb for one of the lights but it didn't work .lovely big court yard and the house has everything you need in it but it would also benefit from a large freezer. i would have given 5 stars but for the oven
Thanks we had a great time. The property is in a perfect location for walking - ideally placed. We felt really comfortable in the house and would love to come again. The annexe accommodation was a really good arrangement for our family.
The cottage has been sympathetically renovated, in keeping with original features whilst incorporating modern facilities. It was warm and welcoming and situated in an ideal location within the centre of the village. The furniture, soft furnishings and ornaments made the cottage feel homely and enhanced a very comfortable break. We would highly recommend this cottage.
It was a beautiful cottage, loved staying there.
