The building that houses Flute & Snug is one of the oldest in Stratford-upon-Avon, but the way that Carl has done it up marries the new interiors perfectly with the old structure. The slanted walls, wooden panels, and beautiful tiles wouldn’t seem out of place in a Lewis Carroll novel, and for a place with as much history as this, that feels apt. We could go on about the grand dining room, the wonderful bathrooms, the wall painting from the 1600s, or the location in the very middle of town, but there’ll still be plenty you need to discover for yourself.
Home truths: *The age and character of the house are part of its charm, but it does mean that there are some low ceilings, small doorways, and uneven floors
*As the home is very close to the centre of town, you get a bit of noise, and there's a police station just behind it
*The garden feels very secluded, but the fence is rather low
