Dolau Farmhouse is a beautiful, large detached property situated just on the outskirts of Lampeter a village in the Wales region of Ceredigion and can sleep fourteen people. There are eight bedrooms within a main house and annex comprising two king-size doubles, one double, on small double, two singles and one family room with 1 double and 1 single with en-suite, as well as there being two bathrooms and a shower room. The rest of the property has two kitchens (one with open-plan dining area and table that seats 14), two sitting rooms and a utility. Outside there is ample off road parking, enclosed lawned and gravelled areas with patio area and furniture, as well as an external games room. Located in a tranquil area, Dolau Farmhouse is the ideal getaway for a large group of friends or family! Please note: No EV charging at this property [local charging points available]

Area
Lampeter is the smallest and oldest university town in Wales, and boasts a fine selection of small, locally-owned shops. It's also home to a museum, a Welsh quilt museum and has a wealth of tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, regular markets and a fine food festival. Surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and rivers, the area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.

I've just stayed here in may 2019 with 13 other friends,this house is in a quiet location off the main road approximately 1 mile from Lampeter the owner John is very helpful and is happy to help arrange or give advice you can walk to town but road doesn't have footpath all the way or you can just walk via the farm fields and tracks. The House has everything thing you could possibly want from games room and games for the kids to hairdryer in a couple of room to iron ironing board dishwasher washing machine etc and a great place to stay and entertaining you're group of friends or family our group are very well traveled and stayed in some fantastic but also some beautiful places and I believe if this place doesn't make you happy with everything it offers I think you must then be the type of person who wouldn't be happy with anything it's just such a beautiful house in a lovely location....

Thoroughly recommend Dolau Farmhouse for a large family or friends get-together. Lovely rural setting with lots of space for children to play (lots of games equipment provided) within easy reach of the coast, NT attractions and lots of beautiful countryside. Easily accommodated 3 families (totalling 13) with a very well equipped kitchen with dining table that can seat 14 and plenty of bathrooms and showers. Plenty of space for chilling out including a sunny terrace with BBQ. Loved the Easter decorations, yummy Easter cake & chocolate treats plus tea / coffee / milk on arrival. John the owner was very helpful and welcoming with tips for places to visit etc.

The owners were so generous in providing a cake, card and balloon for Yvonne's 70th birthday celebrations.. The accommodation is very clean, spacious and very well equipped. It was perfect for our big family get-together (14 of us from aged 70 down to 2 months!). Would have no reservations about coming back for another family celebration.

Three generations (11 people) came together for a special week to celebrate a couple of birthdays and share some time together.. Dolau with 2 lounges, 2 kitchens gave us ample food preparation and relaxation space. The beds and bedrooms were comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The large dinning area seats 12 easily and is an asset in the large farmhouse kitchen, we all fell in love with its generous dimensions. There is a lot of outside space both grass and tarmac for the children to run and play ball games in between outings. On our day of arrival our journey was diverted due to a motorcycle accident, I had a Tesco delivery booked and it contained most of what we needed to feed the family. When I phoned the owners they drove the 2 miles from Lampeter to the house to wait for the delivery and then put the food in the fridge and cupboard. This was above and beyond the care and attention that a renter can hope for from a property owner. Thank you so much. thank you also for the welcome package that awaited us when we finally arrived. Thank you John for the barrel of farm scrumpy! We had a great time with it. The kids really enjoyed trundling around the spacious courtyard on their ride-ons and the games room was a great bonus given that the weather was pretty wet. We would recommend the mountain roads past the reservoir for a spectacular drive.

Well, where do I start.. .The hosts were amazing and couldn’t have been more accommodating! They were very welcoming, with a lovely card and cake. Everything was fresh and clean, and there were even many comments about the beautiful flowers on the dining room table! Little touches really do make a difference! There is so much I could say about our experience so I will bullet point to save the waffle: * Naomi spent time sending us a list of recommended places to go before we arrived - this was useful * great spacious rooms * great shower on 1st floor * great kitchen appliances, enough cutlery and crockery - even the knives were sharp!! * dining room table fitted 12 adults and 7 children! * great outdoor space - bikes were used a lot!! So much more to say.. a real gem! Local to a lovely town and great place for a local walk - which was suitable for all ages and abilities! We had a great week, thanks to all at Dolau - Naomi, John, Olive and the amazing team who are there on the Saturday to turn everything around for the next lot of residents! Just some feedback to Sykes: I rated accuracy of listings the highest, however Sykes cottage do need to update their website as they reference more rooms than there is - this led us and the host confused. We had to request the 2 single beds in one room to be zipped up to make a double (as we thought we had enough doubles with a spare room to be singles), however we were a double bed short. Although, the hosts were straight on it and back around rejigging the furniture! They could not have been more accommodating! Oh and I nearly forgot to mention.. one of the little ones left a beloved toy behind, Naomi was straight on it and sent it back to the rightful owner. Certainly made a little one happy! Thank you!!

Dolau Farmhouse was perfect in every respect.. High quality bathrooms, linen and soft furnishings. A lovely touch was the fab chocolate cake and beautiful flowers. Outdoor space was ideal for our annual extended family gatherings with barbecue, hard surface for tennis etc and gardens that lent themselves to games. Peaceful location but still accessible to towns and beaches. John - what a star ! He could not have been more helpful and informative. Altogether a great week .

The farm house was perfect for our family holiday.. Big enough for everyone to have space but also to be together. The kitchen dining table is lovely big enough for everyone to sit down for meals together, Dolau house is a fantastic house for family get together's. The owner of the property John checked on us regularly and gave us driving instructions to Pembury park which was a wonderful day out for all at a beautiful beach. Anything we needed was there the next day, Dolau House was clean well equipped and a delight to stay in, the games room was a big hit with everyone and with wonderful weather we could not have asked for anything else to make this holiday anymore perfect, would highly recommend Dolau House.

The owners of this house could not be more welcoming and accommodating.. We stayed over Easter and they had decorated the house in Easter decorations, and left chocolate eggs for the kids and a chocolate cake as well. They were extremely helpful and answered all our questions about the house ensuring our stay was comfortable. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and very well equipped. We will definitely be coming back!

Just returned from a 2 night stay for a family 50th birthday and everything could not have been more perfect.. The house is wonderful, clean and well equipped. It was more than big enough for 14 of us and although we spent a lot of time in doors we were not on top of each other. The owners are friendly and accommodating and had left a cake and card for the birthday girl of the family. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend booking this house, it really was lovely and we hope to book again in the near future.

Everything was perfect, we had a fantastic new year break there were lots of little touches that added to the holiday.. The farmhouse was decorated with Christmas decorations and had a lovely Christmas tree. There was a bottle of Prosecco and a box of chocolates, even tea, coffee, sugar and milk.

The house was ideal for a large family, plenty of room, easily fit in 3 generations. It was spotlessly clean with all you needed in the kitchen. Although weather was not ideal there was plenty to do indoors, pool table was a hit along with extra televisions! Would recommend this house and would love to come back.

Stayed here with 14 of my family members absolutely fantastic..so many lovely little touches that made us feel so welcome.it was my mums 70th birthday she lives in lampeter so it was an ideal location.they left flowers a card for her,anything we needed we just had to call and they helped straight away.. Lovely big farmhouse rooms were all very comfortable.would definately be going back next year.

The Farmhouse was absolutely wonderful exactly like the pictures and was beautifully clean.. The interior and decor exceeded our expectations and the fantastic kitchen with a table to seat everyone was ideal. The owners were most helpfull prior to our holiday contacting us and accomodating our requests re cots etc. The little touches on our arrival were a delight a welcome card, cake, fruitbowl and flowers, it felt like a home from the minute we walked through the door. The directions to finding the property were excellent as were all the helpful tips i.e. how to get a food delivery from the local supermarket. The location close to the coast is excellent with so many lovely beaches to choose from. I would strongly recommend this property to anyone wanting to book for a large family gathering or party of friends.
