Derwent Cottage is a nicely-presented barn conversion, set in a peaceful and rural location, just four miles from Malton, and can sleep four people. This ground floor cottage has a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen with dining area, a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside, there is ample off road parking and a large decked patio with furniture. Derwent Cottage is a wonderful holiday base. Note There is a £25.00 charge for use of the hot tub per visit. As the hot tub needs to be cleaned and emptied for each new set of guests, the water may not be fully up to temperature on the first evening.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with woodburning stove.

Area
The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Please note: This property only allows Monday and Friday Check in's. Please note: There is a £45.00 charge for use of the hot tub per visit. As the hot tub needs to be cleaned and emptied for each new set of guests, the water may not be fully up to temperature on the first evening. Please note: It is the guests' responsibility to advise Sykes or the owner if they wish to use the hot tub for their stay, please ensure this is done at least 2 days before your arrival date.

The photos do not show how spacious the cottage is, it is in a very peaceful location with a magnificent view.. Beds and sofas very comfortable. Everything provided to ensure stay is comfortable.

The cottage was well equipped.. We had access to excellent laundry facilities as well as extra food storage space near to the property, by way of fridge and freezer. Hot tub clean and well maintained. Ocado delivery arrived promptly just after our arrival and did not have a problem finding our location.

Beautiful location, tea, coffee, milk & biscuits on arrival which was good.. No looking around for a shop! Another cottage next door but didn't see them, quiet location about 10 minutes away from Malton. Would definitely come again

We have just returned from a week at this absolutely beautiful cottage, it is even better than the pictures. From the moment we arrived we felt instantly relaxed, the views are out of this world and the cottage itself was just perfect and we felt so at home. We really didn't want to leave and would 100% return and recommend. The accommodation is very spacious and the hot tub was amazing and so relaxing after a day out. The host was very friendly and helpful providing knowledge of the area. Could not find one single fault we had an amazing week away.

The cottage is more than expected, lovely scenery in a quiet location.. The hot tub is an added bonus after walking around the local area or after a day out exploring. Excellent cottage with all the facilities we required.. Superb location with stunning views. Owners were friendly and helpful. Only negative for us were the small 2 seater sofas in the lounge. A larger corner sofa with poofs would have made for a comfier experience when chilling out!

Great cottage.. Everything we needed for a quiet weekend retreat! Amazing views. The hot tub is fantastic and extremely clean and well maintained. Super comfy beds - everything is top notch. The only thing we felt could have made the cottage absolutely perfect was different sofas. They were quite small and not very comfy for snuggling down in front of the lovely log burner! We are being a bit picky because everything else was so fabulous! Malton is a lovely little market town with some great shops to browse around in. We love it here - we stayed in the next door cottage last year. We will definitely be back.

The photos and description just doesn’t do this cottage justice.. Absolutely beautiful! Such a warm welcoming feel, and spacious. Lovely welcome when we arrived, and advised how to use the hot tub (which was amazing at night under a blanket of stars). Will definitely be back, and recommending to others.

The cottage is set in a wonderful location.. Everything was spotlessly clean, and in first class condition with all the utensils and facilities required. We would totally recommend this cottage for a relaxing and stress free visit. We will definitely be staying again. The owners were were extremely pleasant and helpful and also they cleared snow from our cottage area and the lane to ensure that we had safe passage throughout our stay. We stayed in the cottage for 7 nights, lovely and clean....lovely and comfortable although it was a wet few nights we didn't need to light the wood burner as the cottage was warm.... the hot tub was amazing and used every night. Two slight downsides... as the people pass to the next cottage they can see into the hot tub and the garden could benefit from a strim and a path clear. But that said we will recommend the cottage and we would not hesitate to book again.

4 of us have just enjoyed a nice relaxing break away. Photos do not do it justice. Cottage was lovely and clean and a decent size for 4 adults. HOT TUB IS AMAZING...and got a lot of use. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because while we have been out one day to coast and left the heating on so weren't coming back to a cold cottage and also to allow our swimsuits to dry, when we returned the heating had been turned right down and the Windows had been put on vent meaning someone had been in while we were out, for what reason we don't know, when the owners were asked by my friend they denied being in but didn't appear overly concerned that someone had accessed the cottage. Also I think more wood should provided for the log burner without having to pay £7.50 a basket. Overall very enjoyable and would use again. Only criticism is mentioned above.

As a family of four there was more than enough space to accommodate us all with all the baggage you need with two children. The owners were very nice helpful with regards to local tips for tourist days out etc. Fully recommend Derwent Cottage we will be enquiring to return in the near future.
