Area
Situated between Llanberis and Caernarfon lies one of the most beautiful areas of North Wales: Llanrug. Although one of the largest villages in Arfon, Llanrug is still relatively small, with only 761 houses, many of which are farm buildings and renovated cottages. There are only a few shops in the village, including a butcher, two pubs, two grocers and a chip shop. Should you require any further amenities, Bangor and Caernarfon are only a short drive away. The village has its own attractions, such as the 11th Century church of St. Mihangel and the Memorial Hall, built in the early 1900s. Llanrug's most famous neighbour, Llanberis, is only a few miles away. Llanberis has been christened ‘the Gateway to Snowdonia' and offers access to Mount Snowdon and the unspoilt wilds of the Snowdonia National Park. Llanberis also has a variety of restaurants, shops and inns, serving weary walkers with local fare.

Region
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Very disappointed with cleanliness and shabby furniture, not worth the money I paid for the property..

August 2020
It was a great break.. The house was. A great size which allowed our big group to come.tocwther when needed aswell as spend their own time in their own spaces. All facilities were available that you would expect in a holiday home. Mount Snowdon was only three miles and many other attractions were close buy. Would definitely reco.

The owner of the property was a very nice lady.. We were, however, expecting the general condition of the house to be better. The bathrooms are very small and ill-equipped. The communication with the landlady is over a landline only. This is harder to convey any problems such as our master bathroom shower did not work ( did not manage to communicate this forward to her) especially as my network did not have full coverage in that area. We had to take the property one hour later and leave it by 9.00. This is not the luxury or comfort we expected. No large TV screen and bearly any connection to Wifi so working from there or streaming movies for kids was very difficult. For this amount of money spent I was expecting much more. Wales, however, was beautiful and we are looking forward to coming back.

Great big house, fantastic for group holidays.. Loads of space inside and out Great location for getting to all the attractions in the local area. Could do with another set of plates and cutlery etc as when you have used one you have to wait for the dishwasher to finish Or have 2 dishwasher's? TV in main room could do with being a bit bigger. One of the showers caused a leak but we told the owner who said she would sort it. We had a great time, brilliant cottage/ house in a great location.

Barbara was very helpful in deed, with it being Christmas she put lovely decorations up and Christmas tree, the children loved it.. the pottery was very good, moving forward for the summer maybe a bbq to use outside would be considered.. also some more larger lamps for the main room, as found it a little too bright with all the main lights on. apart from that it was very good. thank you Barbara for all your help.

A perfect location and facility for a multi-generational holiday - the house, like the owner, makes for an easy and relaxed experience - not luxurious, but everything we could have possibly needed in terms of kitchen equipment and kindness.. The conservatory and garden were a joy in the May sunshine, and an evening painting in the pottery gave us more happy holiday memories. Barbara's local knowledge was considerable - there is a master baker and an award winning butcher tucked away in the village environs, and we ate wonderfully well!!

We rented this house as part of our golden wedding celebrations, so that we had enough space for all our family to visit during the week.. The house was ideal, plenty of space and with excellent views. The area was very pleasant, Llanberis is very near with lots to do, and we also had a good day in Anglesey. The weather was also kind to us, with the warmest Easter on Record! The piggery pottery provided some hours of entertainment especially for the younger members of the family - and also for some of the older ones! Barbara was very friendly and very welcoming. All in all an excellent week.

Stayed for a surprise weekend for husbands 70th birthday. House was wonderful with lots of room for all. Brilliant location. All grandchildren loved painting pots at Barbara’s (the owner) piggy pottery. Even got to throw a pot. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Thank you Barbara for all the welcome goodies you left including milk and cake. Also for making us all so welcome. Would recommend this farmhouse to any large family.

Spacious and comfortable house.. So good to come back to a well equipped and cosy accomodation after a days walking in snowdonia.
Mrs Burrill
November 2018
The pictures in the advert were clearly taken a few years ago.. There is mould around some of the showers and the house did have a slightly run-down feel to it compared to other holiday houses that we have stayed in. Nevertheless it is excellent value for money with plenty of space to socialise in. The host was lovely and the pottery barn located next door was fun. Every bedroom had an en suite which was beneficial considering the size of our group. It’s a really good base for climbing snowdon (snowdon is a 10 min drive away).
Mrs Marchant
August 2018
This is a very beautiful house in a magnificent setting.. We had a fabulous celebratory 60th birthday for my husband. It enabled family and friends to meet together and enjoy everything that North Wales had to offer. We were near enough for many of the attractions such as walking up Snowden (or going by train) as well as the longest, fastest zip wire in the world. A local hotel facilitated our desire (as non-residents) to use their pool. We enjoyed many walks in the area as well as visiting Caernarfon Castle; Conwy Castle and Bodnant Gardens which were stunning. Barbara was very accommodating and nothing would have been too much trouble - she responded quickly to our requirements. We especially loved the garden which had a stunning view. The house was comfortable for our needs with plenty of hot water available for everyone.

July 2018
Great house for a family reunion as there's plenty of lounge space for the different generations to sit and talk or play games; especially useful given the Welsh weather! Good value for money and plenty of facilities and activities nearby for a range of age groups.
Miss Bellenand
May 2018
A great location and good number of common rooms for a group.. Also nice to have decent en suites although some were better than others and good to have extra shower and toilet downstairs. Linen would be better in white, coloured linen never looks clean enough. Mattresses on the soft side. Despiote these slightly negative comments, a great place and location and a lovely landlady. Will return quite likely next year!!

February 2018
This accommodation was absolutely superb and suited our needs to a tee. Owner Barbara was extremely polite and helpful. There were eleven of us all on motor cycles taking a winter get together and finding such a welcoming site was amazing. Three of our group took the opportunity to make use o the adjoining pottery studio where we could decorate our own pots and see what an extremely talented lady Barbara is. Cannot wait to return

May 2017
This farmhouse was amazing. The perfect location for the beautiful scenes of north Wales and so close to so many incredible activities. Everything in the farmhouse was clean, and plenty of utensils for all of us. Barbara was also amazingly accommodating opening up to allow us to paint at piggery pottery next door to suit our timetable of action packed fun and games to celebrate our friends 'last fling before the ring'! Plenty of parking space copious bathrooms and we were so lucky the amazing weather allowed us to enjoy the garden as well as the beautiful house. Would love to visit again. The perfect place for an action packed weekend.

The cottage had an ensuite to all the bedrooms which worked well for us, as did the number of reception rooms. The location of the property was superb and gave us easy access to a number of places to visit. The owner was very welcoming.

December 2014
Stayed at this 5 bed farmhouse for a weekend away with friends and teenage kids (14 people in total). We had a great weekend, and traveled down after work on the Friday evening. The farmhouse was comfortable and is in a great location. The farmhouse has plenty of room downstairs, plenty of hot water, was lovely and warm (we even turned the heat off at times) and decent size bedrooms - all with en-suite shower room. We took a trip down to Llanberis on the Saturday morning. The 'girls' all went into the on site Pottery Centre for the afternoon and had a great few hours painting Xmas themed pottery mementos, whilst the 'lads' went to the local pub which is 5 mins walk away. This was a great weekend at a good price.
Miss Dubiel
October 2014
This cottage was amazing; in a great setting, with big bedrooms, kitchen and living rooms for us all to hang out in. We might come back every year! It also had a pottery place next door run by the lady that owns the house which was lots of fun and super cheap.

July 2014
I loved the size of the property and the garden. The location was perfect for us too. The pottery was a great place to spend time with the family. The owner of the farm house was very accommodating and a really nice lady. I would love to go back as there was a lot that we didn't get chance to see.

June 2014
Our group of 9 all enjoyed our weekend away. The accommodation was excellent, great location, beautiful setting and the owner was so helpful and even offered to take us to Llanberis to the start of our walk up Snowdon. She provided us with a welcome pack which was very thoughtful. We had a go at painting a pot at the Piggery Pottery on site which was great fun. Can't fault the location ,the village and accommodation. Could you please pass on our thanks to the owner for making us so welcome. We are sure to recommend the farmhouse to our friends, colleagues and family. Hope to go back soon.

June 2014
Booked this 5 bed farmhouse for a weekend away with friends and work colleagues, a group of 9. We had such a great weekend, we travelled after work on the Friday a bit of a delay on the A5 but apart from that easy to find. The farmhouse looks impressive and a great tranquil location. Mrs Winrow was very helpful and left us a welcoming pack, which was very thoughtful. The farmhouse has plenty of room downstairs, plenty hot water and decent size bedrooms. Barbara even drove us down to Llanberis on the Saturday morning for our walk up Snowdon. We had a meal booked at the local pub which is 5 mins walk. Where we found friendly locals and a good choice of food. We decided to have a go at painting a pig at the Piggery Pottery Craft Centre which is on site. We spent a couple of hours there which we all enjoyed. We all agree that it was a great weekend and would definately return.

May 2014
This was a family holiday with a total of 8 family and friends staying. It is in a great location for exploring the northern half of Snowdonia and we had good road access to Llanberris aswell as Bedgelert and the Ogwen valley, all within a 20 minute drive. This was great for days out on the hills. The accommodation is as described on the Sykes site but I would say that the decor is looking a bit tired and worn but overall still functional. The kitchen could do with a refit as it does'nt cater easily for large groups, there is plenty of pots, pans etc but the cooker hob is next to useless as you cant fit 2 large pans on at the same time! Its a great place for active people looking for a base rather than a luxury break. The pub up the road does good food at reasonable prices. All of our party would stay here again, just wish the kitchen was a bit more user friendly.

March 2014

Great base for discovering the Snowdonia area, good property for large family or friend groups. Plenty of room to spread out with each bedroom being en-suite.

January 2014
Really disappointed with this place pictures look great on web but in reality nowhere near as good . Taking plates and pans from cupboards only to find dirty from last guests is not a good start. Water leaking through ceiling from one bedroom . Shower thermostatic valve not working so got scalding showers ( unless you are more than fifth to use as there is no more hot water available ) which is strange for accommodation for 15. We book large houses each year for new year for the last 10 years and this is way below what we expected Felt like it really needed a good scrubbing

House is very comfy, warm and welcoming.. Own entrance and parking. Ideal kitchen for entertaining and lovely conservatory with fantastic views over the countryside and mountains. The big sofa in the living room was very snug! Lovely! Barbara was around when needed and was very welcoming. We had a night in the pottery with her making pots and painting Christmas decorations which was hugely enjoyable. Great location.

December 2009
The directions to the cottage were excellent, we came from 4 directions and everyone got there with no problems. We were greeted by the very friendly owner, who showed us around the house. Facilities were excellent, and we all looked forward to our meals overlooking mountains and glorious scenery. The rooms were good, comfortable and provided all we wanted. They had workable showers and I think the TVs worked although we did not use them, there was too much to do and see in the area. The cooker provided a challenge, but we cracked it quite quickly although this I believe is being changed to a simpler one. Th owner told us of the many walks from the door and nearby. Everyone was sad to leave but we will all be back.
