It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many popular events such as the annual Dart Music Festival, Dartmouth Food Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This historic town boasts interesting landmarks, such as Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College, and the National Trust’s Greenway House just a short ferry ride away. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through the rolling countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat or ferry trip across to Kingswear, on to Brixham, or down the river to the village of Dittisham. For those seeking sandy beaches, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular beaches just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.

It would be a good if you put not for suitable for people who are unable to climb a lot of steep steps.. The cleaning of this cottage is not great, duvet covers not even buttoned up I guess thats to save time. We cleaned the cottage extremely well before we left, so I think the next person to use it will rate it as very clean, I think that's what's happening with the write up comments.I also think that you should remove the words off road parking with this cottage. Off road indicates that its on the property site. Off road does not mean park and ride, this is misleading. The cottage does have woderful views, but again the photo that sells the cottage is a bit miss leading, it doesn't tell you its up 4 flights of steps, up the cliff side! we only went up there once. There isn't anywhere suitable for dogs to go. Thank goodness a very nice man allowed us to unpack the car in front of his garage. But even then it involves quite a walk up several steps to the front door. we did enjoy our stay but once down in the town you wouldn't want to of left something behind at the cottage and have to go back!

The house was lovely - clean and well furnished.. Fantastic views from the front window of the lounge and nice touches of communication and advice from the owners, plus some tea and chocolate treats on arrival The views from the upper deck are amazing and the lower deck is a little sun trap. We will definitely return to this property
