It is also a hub for walkers, with easy access to the surrounding hillsides, Black Mountains, Hay Bluff and Twmpa. Some of the most popular local footpaths include Offa s Dyke and Gospel Pass. The market town of Hay on Wye is just 6 miles away, a bustling town with a weekly market, arts and crafts, and a year round events calendar that includes the famous book festival in May and June and smaller Winter Festival in November. Hay is set on the Welsh Borders and banks of the River Wye where you can embrace the wildlife, wild swimming, pony trekking, cycling and canoeing. Access to this charming cottage is via a front entrance hall, which has storage for coats and walking boots. From here, guests can access the heart of the home, the kitchen/diner. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, with everything you may need for your stay, and there is a table and chairs with seating for six people for dining. One of the two working spaces is opposite the kitchen. Further into the cottage and up a couple of steps, there is a welcoming lounge with comfortable seating and a Smart TV with DVDs, as well as Bluetooth speakers and a selection of books and games. A wood burner provides a cosy warmth. And for planning your next adventure, there is a wealth of guidebooks and maps provided by the owner. The ground floor also offers a spacious bedroom with a king size zip and link bed (that can be made into twin 2"6' beds on request at the time of booking), and a cloakroom with an additional WC.
