Just back from a weeks stay here. If you book you will NOT be disappointed. The Cottage is massive, rooms so spacious, loved the 2 with en suite, the showers in these rooms were brilliant, so powerful. The place was spotless and had loads of wee extra touches that you wouldn't normally get (dish washers tablets, soap powder, fairy liquid, salt etc) Great views from the Cottage too. Spent ages at the windows watching the waves smashing off the rocks. If you have kids there's loads of outside space too for them to run about mad, really safe as it's all fenced and gated with only the Cows for neighbours. Had a fab night in the local pub just a short walk down the road, the locals are so welcoming and the grub is fab. Crab claws and fish n chips are to be recommended. I genuinely can't speak too highly of this place. I'm just grateful to the owners for letting us rent it and to whoever looks after the place, you're doing an awesome job. Thsnk you

Pros: Property in a beautiful location, clean and kitchen very well equipped.. Cons: Despite being advertised as including all utilities, heating was rationed and fully controlled by the owners daughter (timer locked away) which was extremely frustrating as I could not set it to my convenience, this meant having to wait to shower until I could get warm enough to do so. First night I was absolutely frozen and had to go to bed at 8.15pm to get warm. Morning was freezing and had to wait until 10.15am (when owners daughter arrived to set the heating again) before I could shower, this meant I couldn't get out until later in the day when I usually go out around 8am. I couldn't get the fire going (never started a fire before) but was told to do that instead. Owner initially told me she had to lock the timer away because it kept getting broken by renters, but daughter told me the truth - her mother doesn't like the heating on for long because the oil is expensive. Sofa is rather uncomfortable Needs a coffee table badly Overall a lovely property but I wouldn't stay there again for the sheer fact the the owner controlling the heating, something I've never experienced before in many of the other properties I've stayed it.

Fabulous cottage, 4 bedrooms, large kitchen and open fire.. great location for touring the area and walking distance to a great little beach. only issues - towels provided were less than needed and quite small. other issue being the central heating - unable to change it from that set, ok in the mornings but made the house quite cold at night.

I absolutely love this house, the only thing I don't like is the fact I can't pick it up and take it home lol. Had a great week here, house is very comfortable, clean and warm with fantastic views. Everything you could possibly need is here. We came as a group of four and all of us would return again.

Superb holiday home which is a credit to its owner.. We spent the first half hour just walking around Cunna Ban admiring the place. Very comfortable accommodation and located in a great position for peace and quiet. Close enough to either Fanore, Ballyvaughan or Lisdoonvarna for supplies. O’Donohues pub is about 300 metres away as is the shop and Vasco the deli/cafe. But just to recap, Cunna Ban is probably the best 3 bedroom detached holiday home on the Wild Atlantic Way. This property is even better than described in our opinion. Many thanks, Steve, Konstanze, Tony and Lyn.

Key collection arrangements rather convoluted and unnecessarily so as they were left under a stone by the front door anyway! The interior of the house is very modern, stark and minimalist - not at all cosy. No provision for hanging up wet weather gear near the door - an essential in the west of Ireland. All appliances worked well but the timing of the the heating system did not allow any adjustment and did not allow for damp, cold afternoons and early evenings, although it was possible to light the peat burner. Much of the crockery is very chipped and cracked and cutlery would be in short supply if there were 6 people staying. Great location and views

The location of the Cunna Ban cottage was fantastic with excellent views on the Atlantic Ocean.. Close to (15 km) the Cliffs of Mohair and to Doolin with the famous music pubs and Doolin Pier with the ferry to the Aran Isles.

Sea view out the front window, the Burren hills out the back! The cottage is lovely, three double bedrooms (2 ensuite), lovely furnishings, kitchen, all the bits and pieces you could want. We stayed with two children, 4 and 7 years, who were very happy to have their own double beds. There is a lovely pub about 300 yards away where we ate three times. We also went to Aillwee Caves, Bunratty Castle, Lahinch, Spanish Point and Galway. You need a car, unless you are specifically coming for a walking or cycling holiday. Peace and quiet is easy, if you don't have young children, as we did! The one problem we had with the hot water was sorted within a day. Highly recommended.

Cunna Ban was the best holiday house we ever had.. It was absolutely cosy and the scenery we looked upon was overwhelming. One thing to improve: Regulate level and time of the heating by ourselves.

We have had a great time in this very comfortable house. We were here for 2 weeks and saw the beautiful nature of Ireland: - cliffs of Moher, - the Carron walk in the Burren, - Doolin and the Pier, - a walk at Flaggy shore, - citytrip to Galway, - roadtrip to Kilfenora, Dysert O'dea castle, Lemanagh castle and Ennis, - Bunratty castle and folkpark, - Lahinch beach and promenade, - coastal walk from the cliffs to Doolin, - teatime in Ballyvaghan, - and ofcourse the beach in Fanore. The weather was in the first week fine, some showers, sometimes sun and clouds and a little bit cold (10 C). The second week we needed sunprotection, what a lovely sunshine (20C). We will tell our family in Holland about this great house in this wonderful country.

The quality of this cottage was simply exceptional. Over the years we have stayed in many good cottages, but this one must rank as the best. The cottage is so spacious and well furnished throughout and we had a thoroughly relaxing restful two weeks. At the end we didn't want to come home. The location is beautiful on a remote stretch of coast, although there is a shop, pub and cafe/bistro close by and we received a warm welcome in all three. The cottage is an ideal base to explore the Burren and this area of County Clare and there is spectacular scenery wherever you go, which is constantly changing with the weather. We simply cannot recommend this cottage highly enough.

Cunna Ban is a truly exceptional holiday cottage which offers spacious, comfortable accommodation which we thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage has space for several generations to stay together and is very well furnished and equipped. The location on the Atlantic coast overlooking the Aran Islands and Galway Bay is stunning and changes with the weather and the cottage is an ideal base from which to explore the Burren region and part of the Wild Atlantic Way. Close by there is a shop, pub and café/bistro and you are guaranteed a warm welcome and friendly Irish hospitality in all three. We cannot rate this cottage highly enough and would return tomorrow if we were able to do so!

We stayed in Cunna Ban for two sunny weeks. The quality of the accommodation is outstanding and its location would be hard to better. The house is warm and sparklingly clean. Everything is finished to a very high standard, bathrooms and the kitchen are excellent, dining and sitting rooms airy and comfortable. The front windows look out over the ocean and side and back window give views of the Burren. I have already recommended the house to several friends.

We stayed at Cunna Ban for 3 nights. The house was beautifully decorated and VERY big :) would recommend this for a family due to the size. The house is located a 5 minute walk from O' Donohues Pub in Fanore which is probably the best pub in Ireland :) Only complaint would be that the house was very cold in the evening. The heating was timed and we could not adjust. The owners left a starter fire which was very kind of them but we could not manage to get a fire going! I'm sure had i let the owners know that there was an issue with temperature they would have been very helpful. So our mistake here. The facilities in the house were great, lots of games, DVDs and CDs also if you didnt have much to do. The kitchen and dining area was lovely and nice to cook in. Overall we had a really lovely stay and the house was a highlight.

I have been along the Coast Rd. and know just how beautiful the scenery is, and wanted to stay there for a week, and chose Cunna Ban much to my great satisfaction. Since it is a quiet time of the year, and my flight from the states arrived about 7:00 the owner was kind enough to let me check in early just to make it easier for me especially since nothing is really open at that time of the morning. After I arrived at the property, and met the caretaker Ann-Marie, (more about her a little later on) I realized it was exactly as described on the web-site, and quickly knew how wise my decision was to stay at this property. It was in pristine condition, and nothing was lacking in this beautiful home. I snuggled under the beautiful comforter at night, and slept soundly until the next morning when I could plan where I would go that day. Ten minutes in either direction will take you to Lisdoonvarna or Ballyvaughn which are lovely villages, and from there you can venture to Galway City. A little beyond that I would suggest visiting the beautiful Kylemore Abbey that has a wonderful history that one should read up on, then venture on to Clifden and visit Walsh bakery just for a few erxtra pounds, and I can prove that. Next, thank goodness for Ann Marie who answered endless questions about this and that with a smile on her face every time, and probably wondered what planet I came from. For instance, I was surprised to find the stove had a gas burner, and an electric stove as here is the states its either one or the other. I left Ireland knowing I had made a friend that I will surely keep in touch with. If you find you need something in a hurry there is a small convenience store/post office right down the road that will take care of emergency needs. Do yourself a favor and stay at this beautiful home.

This is a recently built property and we were privileged to be the first guests. We were really delighted with the cottage and the surrounding area. We were warmly welcomed and found the cottage to be superbly equipped and pristinely clean. The rooms are spacious with wooden floors throughout and lovely views. It's set in a peaceful location on the beautiful Burren coast. It's worth knowing that it takes about 40 mins from Fanore to join the main Galway road, so this is definitely a location for peace and quiet rather than easy access to Galway / Limerick etc. That said, the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin and Lisdoonvarna are all just a few minutes away by car. It's also worth bringing lots of cash as not every restaurant/shop takes a card and it was common for us to be told that the nearest cash dispenser was 15 miles away! We would definitely recommend this cottage and the Burren area.
