Keen walkers/cyclists will be pleased that Blencathra, Helvellyn and Skiddaw are also nearby, where a range of routes and trails lead to spectacular views. Grasmere is also worth a visit for its gingerbread and Wordsworth connections. This stunning, sympathetically restored cottage built in the 1500s is immaculately presented.
