Take a ride through the rolling countryside on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway (1 mile), visit the popular Lakeland Motor Museum (0.5 miles), or enjoy a peaceful walk along the River Leven. Ulverston Safari Zoo (11 miles) is a must for all ages, or why not head south to the coast for a day at the seaside. Just a few miles away from neighbouring village Newby Bridge is the southern tip of Windermere, England s longest lake and a hugely popular Lake District destination at Lakeside (3 miles). Hop aboard a vessel with Windermere Steamers for a tranquil and relaxed exploration of the water and head up to Bowness (9 miles) or Ambleside (14.5 miles). Walking into this traditional Lakeland property you will feel relaxed and ready for your holiday. First is the porch area, perfect for those muddy boots and for hanging your coats and dog gear.
