Those looking for a slower pace can explore Mirehouse (2 miles) and its rambling gardens, adventure playgrounds, a wildflower meadow, a heather maze, and woodland walks. Just 3 miles away find the Lake District Wildlife Park for a great family day out or for a spot of grown up pampering treat yourself to a spa day at nearby Armathwaite Hall, 2.5 miles away.
