Whizz from the treetops at Whinlatter Forest (3.5 miles) or take a leisurely walk around Borrowdale (4.5 miles), a great backdrop for holiday photos with Ashness Bridge and the aptly named Surprise View. Or explore lively Keswick (1 mile), where you ll find a wealth of shops, pubs, and eateries, along with an art cinema, theatre, and pencil museum. Step inside and kick off your hiking boots in the hallway before walking through to the rest of the accommodation, decorated in a farmhouse style. Settle in for a cup of tea and chat in the living room, which has two cosy sofas, slate floors, a selection of books and the perfect armchair to curl up in with your favourite book stay warm from the heat of the cosy wood burner. Or, plan film evenings here on the TV with Sky, a DVD player, and soundbar. Cook up a storm in the well equipped kitchen which features an electric fan oven with ceramic hobs, fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher there s also a breakfast table for informal dining and morning coffees while the dining room has a large table and chairs by a vintage dresser.
