For walkers or climbers, the Old Man of Coniston and Dow Crag are in view and accessible from the house or for those who prefer a flatter walk, the old railway line path takes you from Torver all the way to Coniston. For those seeking a more leisurely experience on the lake, numerous boat excursions are available, including "The Gondola" an exquisitely restored Victorian steamer or Coniston Launch which actually stops at Torver Jetty. Entering the property through the spacious porch, you have plenty of space to hang up your walking gear.
