This welcoming cottage for couples, family or friends is located on the edge of the quiet village of Dacre within the Lake District National Park. It is just 2 miles from Ullswater where you can take a trip on one of the Ullswater Steamers or enjoy some water sports. There are many beautiful walks available right from the doorstep, and the popular Ullswater Way is nearby (a 20 mile walk circumnavigating lake Ullswater). Enjoy days out at Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens (2.5 miles), Aira Force waterfall (7 miles), and Helvellyn (10 mile), the third highest mountain in the Lake District. Locally, you can walk alpacas, enjoy an exhibition or film at the Rheged Centre, Britain's largest grass covered building in a former quarry (4 miles) or why not take a trip across the border? Head to Glasgow or Edinburgh from the local train station, less than 6 miles away, to enjoy a fabulous day out shopping or looking around the museums and art galleries. Step through the front door into the country kitchen, put the kettle on or open a bottle of wine, take off your shoes, and enjoy a comfortable seat in the lounge which is next door. Open the garden door in the lounge and you can listen to the chorus of birdsong and the babbling beck at the bottom of the garden or cosy up and enjoy the hypnotic dancing flames of the log burner. The open staircase from the lounge takes you up to the first floor where you will find the bathroom and two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both of which have views over the garden. The cottage is just 300 metres from the owner s working dairy and sheep farm, just along the road; if you would like a tour or want to feed the lambs in spring, this can be arranged with them directly. There is an enclosed lawned garden to the rear of the property which leads down to the beck (children must be supervised at all times).
