The log-burning fireplace, though modern in style, is the only nod to the rustic heritage. To top it off, there's a smart bedroom complete with a rather fetching floral chaise longue and a sleek greyscale bathroom.

The home sits within the county of Rutland, which is both one of England's smallest and most underrated counties. Rutland Water Nature Reserve is only a quarter of an hour away by car and offers superb walking routes and birdwatching opportunities. The town of Oakham and its castle sit nearby, as well.
