November 2019
Lovely cottage great base for walkers and explorers alike.. A heated towel rail would be an advantage. Myself and the two dogs had a great holiday and the weather wasn't too bad for November.

It stated in the advert that there was a garden so we could sit outside with the dog.. There was no garden. The mattress on the bed needs replacing, springs coming through. It also needs a outdoor light. Very lovely place, people very friendly. It would benefit from having Wi-Fi. Lovely little village, lovely church.

This is a very quaint cottage in a beautiful small village.. The cottage its self does not have all the mod cons like wifi and sat tv but is very warm and comfortable. If you want to get away from everything and have a very relaxing holiday this is the place to be.There are some great walks right on your door step and the village has two very nice pubs.a wonderful cafe who do great coffee and cake and a very friendly shop.We had a wonderful holiday and we will be back.Heather,Neil and Oz the dog

Dent is a Beautiful cobbled street village that we have visited on a couple of occasions before, Cobble cottage is not worth the price you charge for it at Sykes , I have booked two other cottages with you in the last two years that were much better quality , cobble cottage needs alot of work doing to it , as you enter the cottage thire is a very strong dog smell that i guess is expected seeing dogs are allowed but its very strong , also it smells of the mould that is on the out facing walls , the cottage needs new furniture , new blinds , new curtains , new carpets new lampshades and a new coat of paint for starters to make it more comfortable for paying guests , I also believe it had a wiring problem and needs re wiring , the electrics dont look safe , it also needs a new fitted kitchen and bathroom upgrade , im not sure what the owners plans are long term for the cottage but it needs lots of work doing to it , i cant believe he rents it in the state it is in , we also got no towels and tea towels until Tuesday after arriving on Saturday, also the bed linen is sprayed with some thing very toxic making it hard to breath at night please just wash the bed lined and dont spray what ever it is your spraying on them , Dent is Beautiful and two great pubs , locals friendly , has some comments from locals about cottage owner , we would not go back to cobble cottage but would book another cottage in dent , was very unhappy with our booking this time with sykes after two previous beautiful cottages in the past ..

Cosy cottage in the beautiful village of Dent , booked as a half way stop off on .... Cosy cottage in the beautiful village of Dent , booked as a half way stop off on our way to Scotland & ended up loving Dent The cottage was ideal for the two of us plus a dog (child gate was very useful to keep a nosey spaniel down stairs) Beautiful walks available straight from the front door plus small drives to the Dales & Lakes Two great pubs within stumbling distance from the cottage that do food plus a shop & a couple of cafes Would happily visit again

The village is beautiful.. The traffic through can be very quick and so a little scary with dogs and young children. The cottage is a perfect base for exploring the local area. It is a little rough around the edges but suited us perfectly.

2nd time staying in Dent for new Year - 1st time at Cobble Cottage and it was just perfect for us! The cottage is quaint as cottages should be, not too fancy but cosy, warm & welcoming. We have 3 small dogs who were happy here too! Staying in Dent is like stepping back in time, good for the soul!

Sykes does not say that any well-behaved pet must stay downstairs, which wasn't a problem for me and my dog.. However, I fee that this information should be available from the outset, and not when the information letter from the cottage owner arrives, about a month before the holiday is due to start. Some pets are more anxious than others, so this rule might cause problems. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable, but some TLC is required - a coat of paint and improved lighting would make all the difference.

Cottage could do with an update.. Brighter decoration would go a long way.

Well equipped cottage ideally situated for walking from the door pub across the cobblestones road and cafe down from cottage both serving food.. Shame there wasn’t a wood burning stove as there was a chimney it would have been the icing on the cake. Overall an enjoyable break weather not very good but will defiantly pay another visit.

Lovely location in beautiful Dent.. Parking was an issue there wasnt any next to the cottage and although we were provided with a permit for the nearby carpark unloading a car and lugging it all up the street was a pain after a 3 hour drive. The cottage is lirerally on the main road through Dent so noisy at times. Please buy some new towels as well they were well past there lifespan. Positives - Amazing location beautiful local walks Flintergill was brilliant . Lovely cafe at Meadowside. Food was dissapointing in Sun Inn. Good for exploring Lakes as well. Overall we had a fab week and enjoyed our stay.

Cobble Cottage in Dent is beautiful, it has excellent facilities , including microwave, washing machine, cooker, small fridge freezer.. Everything you need is supplied. The bed linen is spotless and fresh. Towels are also supplied and excellent hot shower. Magnificent scenery and walks from the cottage, many good places to eat, only 20 seconds walk from the dog friendly "Sun Inn" for lovely real ales and fantastic food. Local shop near by. FREE parking permit for local car park was a great help. We hope to visit this cottage again.

The cottage was comfy and cosy and had plenty of information regarding how to use all the electrical appliances.. The crockery, pans and utensils were clean and the bedding and towels were immaculate . It was obvious though, that the cottage had not had a 'deep clean' for a while, as there were cobwebs in some of the rooms and the light shades and skirting boards were very dusty. All in all though, we had a lovely holiday in a beautiful village and surrounding areas!

Cottage in a lovely village and a great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and/or The Lake District.. Cottage facilities basic (and no wifi) but adequate. The permit for the village car park was essential and much appreciated.
