It's great that the cottage is on a managed site as there was a warden on site who was really helpful when we found the heating was not working properly..

Great cottage in a beautiful location.. My husband and I were visiting this part of the country for the first time and were not disappointed, stunning countryside and as the weather was kind we were able to do lots of walking. Lots of eating places in the picturesque village of Cartmel which is just over a mile from the cottage. Would definitely recommend the cottage to friends.

Excellent property, lovely location, very helpful owner.. The car parking spaces allocated to the properties are far too small and fortunately the owner, Bridget was able to guide us to an alternative parking area within sensible walking distance to the cottage.

My husband and our adult son and daughter only stayed for 3 days, we wished it was longer! The Coachmans was absolutely perfect. So homely! The furnishings and fittings are of exceptional quality. The bedrooms spacious and beds so comfy. Everything thought of.throughout the cottage. A perfect setting for exploring, yet off the beaten track. Plenty of safe parking available on site. Cartmel is a short walk away and great for eating out. Plenty of walks from the door, many 4mls circular, we did the walk to Holker Hall and also the fell walk to Grange, which takes you through the golf course. We're looking forward to returning and continuing the local walks! Can't wait to stay again and it'll be for longer next time!

After staying in May for a week we came home and booked back up for another relaxing break at the cottage. We walked this time to Holker Hall through the racecourse which took around 2 hours, great walk and plenty of information if you fancy of other lovely walks in the area. The cottage has everything you need including mini torches which were very handy this time with the dark nights as we made our way back from the village. What more can I say, this place is a gem with everything you need.....looking forward to booking up again for next year. Thank you xx

We have had the most delightful week in this perfect cottage. My father who is 87 really enjoyed his 3 night stay at the cottage before we took him back home to Newcastle. He found the cottage great as he has limited walking ability and is looking forward to returning next year. The cottage has everything you need what more can I say, so thankful of the hairdryer as mine blew up on the third day!!. I took some supplies with us and it was nice to see a pint of milk in the fridge on our arrival and tea bags, sugar etc if we needed. A fantastic selection of maps and information leaflets to look through and also a great selection of books and dvd's.......we did watch the Vicar of Dibley, thank you. On the site between two lodges just to the left of the cottage is a lovely orchard with two tables where you can enjoy the sun late into the day and great if you have children so they can run around. A lovely 10 minute walk if that into Cartmel village where we enjoyed evening meals at the Royal Oak which has a huge beer garden and the Kings Arms with seating out front. The Cavendish just off the main square is also very nice and they have tables out front and back. A lovely selection of shops and of course you must get the Cartmel sticky toffee pudding!! Well all I can say is thank you Bridget for a wonderful cottage and we have just booked up to go again this October to spend our 2nd wedding anniversary at the cottage.......

I stay din this cottage with my Grandmother and friend. We were so impressed from the outset at the presentation yet homeliness of this cottage. There was everything you could possibly need along with the beauty of a historic country cottage. The property was very easy to navigate for my grandmother as it was all on one level.
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a holiday cottage in close proximity to the Lake District.

The cottage is without doubt one of the best, if not the best that we have stayed at. There was tourist information and OS maps as well as short guided walk maps ready for us to use. The kitchen is excellent; all new with good quality cutlery and dishes. The double bed is really comfortable and I have to say that the pillows are good and give a good nights sleep to anyone who suffers from a bad neck as I do. The bathroom again has a feel that its just been finished and made ready just for your visit, the shower is easy to operate, its really good.

So much to do in the area but yet a quiet corner of the Lakes. Had excellent road links to the rest of the Lakes and Cumbria. Great food and drink locally. A cosy and clean cottage to return to, with a particularly good TV and Internet connection. Had a really varied and quality collection of books, games and DVDs too, so no worries about the weather! Loved the ducks on the pond and the well kept gardens, lovely to stroll through after tea.
