Lovely bolt hole.. Exceptionally clean. Lovely bit of cake on arrival which went down a treat. Pub directly opposite although was closed 2 of the days we were there. Beautiful part of the world.

The cottage was very cosy and well equipped.. If there was one negative it was that there were only 2 dining chairs and not much room to eat at the table indoors if the weather was wet. On a positive, the cake and milk were a thoughtful touch.

The cottage was beautiful and everything we wanted but the bathroom was very small lol.. There are two lovely and welcoming pubs in the village also. The area was ideal as we were not far from anything, lots of walks around us. The owner was lovely as well made us very welcome.

Cosy little cottage, well placed in the village of Stillington and close enough to York to use public transport to get to the city and back.. Internal space is well thought out and the kitchen is well appointed with good crockery, utensils etc. Only the poor weather prevented use of the little courtyard at the rear of the property. Well recommended.

This is a lovely little cottage and very cosy. It is in a pretty village with plenty of amenities on the doorstep. The White Bear Pub directly opposite is excellent for meals or just a drink. The cottage is very well equipped and has everything you could need for a stay making it a real home from home. The rooms are small but this is adequatley detailed in the information and was perfect for three adults. The owners live right next door and were friendly and helpful. The extras supplied such as tea and coffee, milk etc were appreciated along with some un expected extras like cake and rhubarb gin. Added to this the cottage is dog friendly, with plenty of dog walks nearby.

Chapel Cottage is in Stillington which is a great location for trips to York, North York Moors, Harrogate, Castle Howard, North Yorks coast etc. and it was perfect for the two of us for a week's sight seeing. The rooms are on the small side but this was clear from the online listing and they were comfortable and well furnished. We particularly liked the little courtyard out back which was great on sunny evenings. The kitchen/diner was very well equipped and we appreciated the cake and rhubarb gin left for us by the owners who also lent us a couple of North Yorks walking books for our stay. Parking on the road outside was fine and the pub across the road, The White Bear, were friendly and did great food. In summary we very much enjoyed our stay at Chapel Cottage and would stay there again without hesitation. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely few days in this cosy cottage in Stillington.. The cottage is small but nice. The owner was there to welcome us & helpful with any information & help we needed. A homemade cake on arrival was lovely & other extras. The village of Stillington is very friendly & well kept. 2 excellent pubs that welcome dogs & takeaways made it extra good. We didn’t find a local place to walk our dog off the lead, but maybe we missed it. All in all, well worth a stay.

Very quiet and peaceful even though it was opposite a busy pub.. we heard no noise from the pub and indeed we had two good meals there. the main bedroom of the cottage was at the rear and very quiet. The cottage was very clean and well equipped and the owners welcome was warm and friendly. i would not hesitate to book another stay in this delightful village.

Chapel cottage was as described and everything we hoped for.. It is ideally situated for exploring North Yorkshire in the picturesque village of Stillington. The cottage is well maintained and is opposite a lovely pub and is 50 metres from the high class Bay Tree restaurant, great Indian eatery and fish and chip shop all of which we used. The owners next door were welcoming and the cakes were most delicious on arrival. Thankyou!

We decided an improptu break and choose this little cottage near York. It was such a pretty little cottage, well equipped with plenty of games for us all to play (Children nearly 4 and 6), with tea & coffee supplies etc and a cake on arrival. We tried a different place to eat each night - the White bear pub, the fish and chip shop, and the local indian. And we couldn't fault either, the owners and the locals were all very friendly. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

We arrived late in the evening to find a cosy cottage awaiting us. The owners had kindly left us fresh milk and all the necessities for a cup of tea complete with locally made cake. The cottage was comfortably furnished with everything we needed. The owner was very friendly and suggested local places to eat & visit. On the doorstep is a lovely pub (white bear) and a great restaurant (bay tree) both are worth a visit. It takes about 15-20 mins to get into York dependant on traffic. But there are lots of routes out of the village worth exploring. A great stay.

The personal touches like a pint of milk, locally made cake & crisps & a bottle of wine when we arrived made us feel very welcome.. The local pub & bistro were great and both in walking distance.

This is a lovely little place, adjacent to the owner's house and was well equipped with lovely decor and some nice, welcoming finishing touches with some basic provisions and treats there to make us feel at home. They haven't skimped on decorating the place either so it is very comfortable, and also set in a village hosting a pub, a pub/restaurant and a particularly good indian restaurant all within a few yards. Just knocking one star off though as having spent in excess of £500 for a 3 night stay, I might have expected to be able to have enough material to feed the real fire for more than a single night.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Chappel Cottage. We were given a warm welcome by Tania and David on arrival and were shown round the cottage which was exactly as described. Home made cookies and sloe gin were also awaiting us which was a lovely touch. The cottage is very well equipped and a lot of unexpected extras such as milk, soap, washing up liquid, bin bags, kitchen roll were also provided. The village is stunning and the location is ideal for anyone who wants to explore York and the surrounding area. The Local pubs and restaurants were all fantastic and are all just a very short walk from the cottage. The White Bear is literally across the road and the great quality food and excellent local beers made this our favourite. We will definitely be back to visit again.
