Mrs Young, July 2020
January 2020
We were visiting family so we could look after our two little grandsons and wanted somewhere to take them rather than traipsing round museums etc and this turned out to be perfect.. Huge rooms for them to gallop around in and an outdoor play area as well. On our second day, they were absolutely rapt looking out of the window watching sheep being herded, horses wandering about and also farm vehicles. Toys were left out for them and the huge TV was a source of constant pleasure, needless to say! When they had been returned for the evening, we could relax on the two big sofas and the bed was big and comfy. The price was great, the owners friendly but not intrusive and all in all, it was lovely. The central heating was possibly the best and most efficient ever and the constant hot water also a big bonus. Just two little points, not niggles exactly, but in the interests of honest feedback - firstly, the kitchen floor needs a really good clean. It has ingrained dirt in front of the sink and cooker which is a bit off-putting, also there was a garlic skin under the table and as I am allergic, I know for sure it wasn't ours! I used to own a company doing holiday let cleans and I would not have passed this job of work. Other than the floor, though, everything was clean enough. The other thing is that when the adjoining unit is in use (as it was on our last night) smells of food come through the connecting door, as does a howling draught when their front door is open. A draught excluder would probably fix that and it didn't bother us, but I can see that some people might take exception. The cleverly designed units don't have adjoining bedrooms, so there was no disturbance after bedtime. But all in all, fabulous!
