Burrows End in Ludlow, Shropshire

From: €334 weekly Guests 2 Rooms 1 Bathroom 1

Burrows End Self-Catering

Holiday home
Burrows End is a wonderful stone lodge near the village of Farlow, near Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire. The lodge is detached and set solely across the ground floor and has one bedroom with a king-size bed, which has the option of being unzipped into two singles upon request. There is a shower room, a kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room with a double sofa bed and a woodburning stove. Outside in the English cottage garden to the back of the lodge is a lawned garden with a patio, outdoor furniture so you can enjoy alfresco dining in the summer, plus beautiful country views and a sense of peace and tranquillity. Thanks to the property's flexible sleeping arrangements, Burrows End is perfect for both couples and friends exploring Shropshire.

Area
The scattered village of Farlow lies amongst beautiful countryside in southern Shropshire, offering many walks and cycle routes in all directions. Just a short drive away, beneath the shadow of the mystical Clee Hills, the pretty town of Cleobury Mortimer provides a refreshing selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in an array of Georgian and Tudor architecture, along with a striking parish church with an unusual, twisted spire. The area around the Clee Hills provides excellent walking, cycling and golf, plus fishing can be enjoyed at one of the many pools in the area or on a quiet spot along the River Severn.

Region
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Amenities
Oil central heating with Electric wood burning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. The property was so much bigger than we expected .. It was spotless. I asked the owners where the nearest shops were to get some milk but because they were about to close they came over with milk to tie us over . So friendly look forward to definitely use again

We had a perfect break at the rabbithouse.. It suited our needs in every way especially with the dog. Extras like washing up liquid foil etc were a bonus as well as old towels for the dog. It's a great area to walk and explore.

The cottage is extremely comfortable and spacious with a beautiful garden which is fully enclosed, ideal for the dogs.. Set in the countryside (AONB) it is a perfect 'get-away-from-it-all' place to stay, and the owners, Meg & John, were extremely helpful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, but you must be happy that it's away from shops and eating places. I was, and had a lovely stay.

Thanks to Meg & John for a friendly welcome.. Everything was provided and even a new shower fitted as the previous one had stopped working. Free access to the wood store and local knowledge on walks with my dog around the estate. Not much on doorstep but good access to facilities in Cleobury Mortimer. However, busy village and lots of cars. Some locals also seem to be inpatient and predeposed to overtaking on narrow roads and blind bends!?

The garden was totally enclosed so very good for the dogs.. , sometimes they say enclosed but they are not totally enclosed. The cottage is so peaceful and everything you could want a very relaxing place to stay. The owners are a lovely couple very helpful on any thing you wish to know.

This was our third visit to this property which speaks for itself.. Not only is the property great but the views from the cottage are lovely and the only sound is birdsong. Due to the heat we spent most of our time this holiday at the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This property was 5 star, the best we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few. There was nothing you could fault at this property, the location and views were fantastic, the attention to detail excellent, and the quality of furnishings second to none. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We were impressed by the size of the accommodation and the private garden area. There were lovely views across to the hills and the kitchen had everything you needed and more. We would stay here again. It was in an ideal location for peace and quiet, away from it all.
