The House: This refurbished barn, in the grounds of the owner’s home, is situated in one of the hidden gems of Mayo. The house is located just a 3 min drive from the village of Tourmakeady, a 4 minute walk from the shores of Lough Mask in a beautiful rugged picturesque region. The area was originally in Co. Galway but now lies in Co. Mayo. The whole region is renowned for it’s excellent fishing and walks, and is also a great location for discovering Connemara or head towards Castlebar where there is lots to do and see including the museum of country life.
With your hosts being next door, they will help you with all their local knowledge.
Inside: You enter straight in to a large open plan living/dining/kitchen room with timber floors, exposed stonework and a woodburning stove. The kitchen has everything you could need including a large freezer for your catch. The living room area has plenty of cosy couches for you to relax in after a day fishing, walking or touring the region with TV & DVD player.. Out the back door there is a lovely walled in garden where you can seat out with a glass of wine & enjoy the views of Lough mask.
A stairs from the living room brings you up stairs to 2 bedrooms – a double and twin, both ensuite. You will also find a further toilet.
