We stayed here for a family celebration and it was just amazing. The communal areas were large enough to accommodate us all, the bedroom configuration ensured privacy, yet it did not feel you were in such a large property. The only room without en suite was next to a large bathroom so no fights over the facilities.
It is in a relatively remote location, so is a bit cut off but very quiet and peaceful. There is a de-consecrated church in the front garden which was fascinating in its own right but helpfully had table tennis, darts, table football tables. There is a bbq area with benches and enough lawn to play in.
All of the communal spaces fit everyone comfortably, two lounges, large dining room and separate kitchen.
Hereford and all its shops / facilities is only 15-20 mins drive and had a great meal at the Cottage of Content which was 30 mins walk - bit longer on way back!
It was a great week spent with my family..
Mr Milward, September 2020
Check in/check out times unchanged even with extra Covid deep cleaning.. Good.
Mr Bailey, September 2020
The layout of the house was perfect and two of the bedrooms could be interconnected for a larger family group.. It was great for the age group of our party as there was a bedroom on the ground floor which was away from the other bedrooms, perfect for my Sister & Brother in law. All rooms were spacious and with stunning panoramic views. If the weather had been hot and dry we would have enjoyed the garden more, which was very private, apart from the sheep! The grandchildren loved seeing the sheep and cattle and all safely enclosed. We were all very sad the day we left.

Really lovely house.. Beautifully equipped and very clean. Ideal for a family holiday.
Mrs Eaton, August 2020
A great property for a big family get together, the separate games room was a godsend for the grandsons; Bolstone Court was ideal for us..
Mr Ferguson, December 2019
Great place! Reviews true to form! Easy to organise!
Mrs Taylor, November 2019
Lovely house with very good facilities for a large group of people.. It catered for all ages
The only criticism we had was the broadband reception was very poor which was important to my son-in-law who had to work one day.. Otherwise a lovely clean cottage which was very well equipped. We would have no hesitation booking this cottage again.
Extremely comfortable with lots of space for a large group.. The kitchen facilities were excellent and provided the ladies of our group of 9 everything they required to cook our evening meals. The farm house is situated within a group of partially converted barns surrounded by well fenced fields with sheep and cows and beautifully cared for lawns. There are lots of public footpaths close by into Upper & Lower Bolstone Woods which were full of spring flowers and orchids and a walk on public footpaths through Kilgore Chicken farm to see the very friendly and contented free range chickens should not be missed. An excellent house and holiday with everything we needed.
Lovely house, really clean and everything we needed for 8 children and 6 adults.. Kitchen well equipped, nice showers, never ran out of hot water and comfortable beds.
We walked to The Cottage Of Content pub for a lovely lunch, took bikes to FOD, visited Hereford, played golf and some running as well as table tennis and darts in the games room.
Would definitely recommend Bolstone Court.
Wow what can we say, all 14 (and two extra visiting lunch guests) commented on how beautiful this cottage is! It was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. There is everything you could possibly need in that kitchen and you could comfortably cook in there whatever you wanted. It is in a very remote area with beautiful countryside, we didn’t fancy venturing out as it is a very country lane but we didn’t need to, and if you wanted to you could walk in the beautiful countryside and Hereford was only about 25 mins away.
My only point would be a request for some lights at the bottom of the drive, some of our party arrived in the dark and missed the turning and thought they were lost.
We would come here again we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and in the summer this place would be even more beautiful and you could bbq etc and walk further with the children.
It is a shame dogs aren’t allowed although I understand why not as the cottage is so beautiful but with the surrounding countryside our well behaved lab would have loved it. We did get a visit from the resident farmer dog who seemed to know the place and visited the gardens of the property!
The WiFi was surprisingly good as we had heard it wasn’t and we all had phone signal. But if not there was a phone you could use and an honesty box to pay for calls.
Thank you so much for such a lovely weekend. And for our lovely welcoming box of biscuits. You have a beautiful place!
Located property surprising easily despite its quite remote setting (and arriving in the dark!) thanks to clear instructions.
Was a perfect getaway with all ages in our group - the children especially loved accessing the playroom through the graveyard! There was plenty of space for a large group to socialise together and to have private space if needed.
We were really impressed with the extremely well equipped kitchen and American sized fridge freezer as everyone brought plenty to eat and drink! There was only one tiny niggle - we could have done with a second toaster (the toaster was a four slice size to be fair) but only because everyone wanted toast at the same time for breakfast! There is a grill if needed so we were just being lazy really! Other than that we couldn't fault a thing. Everything you could possibly need was provided and was of a high standard and lovely quality.
We highly recommend to others and would gladly return again
Sykes were top of the tree when it came to this holiday.. The service was brilliant. The ease with which Sykes can be contacted and the friendliness of the staff can't be beat. What a fantastic start before the holiday even began. The property was an oasis in an oasis. Hereford and the Wye valley is a great location the house made it. Easily and comfortably accommodated all the needs of thirteen children from 5 to 50 with games room, two luxury living rooms, master chef kitchen and spacious dining table. Slept like a log after great days out in the total comfort of ensuite accommodation.
One of those rare properties that is even better than the pictures on the website.. We had a fantastic stay here, there was plenty of room for everybody and the house was equipped with everything one could need. Beautiful location, and the perfect walking distance from the local pub.
The place was great just what we needed for a big family party
Bolstone Court is in a lovely part of Herefordshire.. Beautifully restored, with a well appointed kitchen, it offers very comfortable accommodation for a large group. Wood stoves ensure a warm welcome the living area and there is a well stocked games room to mop up those competitive moments! There is plenty of hot water to clean up after hearty Country walks, and a modern laundry area to wash and dry any muddy clothes. Book it now!
Lovely house with enough space for us all, including downstairs bedroom, brilliant outdoor space for BBQ's and ball games and quite countryside location set in a wonderful area to explore.. What more could you ask for.
House was exactly as described, very clean and well maintained in a lovely location with plenty of space and all the facilities we required..
We are a walking group of retired people who holiday together each year.. Bolstone Court is one of the best cottages we have stayed in and we have been going away together for 18 years It met all our needs and the games room was a bonus Thank you for a lovely holiday.
Bolstone Court is a wonderful holiday house.. It is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. It suited our needs perfectly. We took our 98 year old mother there and the ground floor bedroom and en suite were excellent for her needs. She was able to move around the ground floor with ease. The children (twins of 3 and granddaughter 7) loved the games provided in the redundant church. Herefordshire is a beautiful county with many interesting castles and other places of interest to visit. It was a wonderful holiday and we would certainly like to return.
Bolstone Court is a fabulous house in a very quiet, scenic rural setting.. Two really great pubs nearby.
The setting was wonderful and peaceful.. The facilities were excellent. We were very interested to read about the history of the place and see the photos of former residents on the wall in the house and their graves in the church grounds.
The WiFi connection was ,however unreliable and one of our daughters was unable to do her college work and had to go home by train. I think that Sykes Cottages should make it absolutely clear how good /strong
the WiFi connection is when advertising their accommodation . A sign stating that there is WiFi is misleading when it does not work properly or state how strong the connection is. Please can something be done about this in the future? If Sykes Cottages could contact me about this I would very much appreciate it.
The house was perfect for 15 of us- including 6 children aged 12 to 2- the 2nd sitting room isn’t shown in photos, it’s more attractive than the one shown! ! The four poster room is big enough for an extra single bed if an unnecessary big table in the alcove was removed. I think that would improve the versatility of the rooms for various family sizes!! But not increase total occupancy as 15 is maximum dining room can take. The dining table is magnificent for 15 with its ‘extension’ table. Everything very nice- nicer than photos and description suggest. Very generous quantities of crockery too, can fill dishwasher and still have enough in cupboards to use!!
The house was great - the rooms were all really nice with an ensuite bathroom in all but one room and the big kitchen and dining room were perfect for bifg family meals.. The surrounding area was great with lots to do for all the family. A lovely property that I would recommend to anyone looking for a space for lots of people.
Very pleased with the accommodation and the welcome treats provided which was thoughtful of the owner..
The house was fantastic.. Loads of space. Tea and biscuits waiting for us on arrival. The kitchen utensils etc were great, we found everything that we needed was easily found.
The house was very clean.
Noisy house due to limited carpeting but well equipped and well presented.. The directions need to be clearer and include the approach from the M50.
Bolstone Court itself and its' surroundings were beautiful, everything was laid out and made up for us perfectly when we arrived, we barely had to leave the house for a super relaxed week away. (with a small but intense table tennis tournament thrown in there as well)
barbecue, kitchen and gardens were all amazing, it was summer so we didn't get to use the fireplaces, but they were gorgeous nonetheless.
Overall this place was amazing, better even than the photos suggest.
This was our second time staying at the property and it was just as incredible as last year. It is stunning and has the perfect amount of space. In a lovely area and the owner was just amazing at being accommodating to changes in circumstances for our group. Couldn't have asked for more and greatly look forward to returning next year!
A beautiful house which has been tastefully renovated and decorated. It was extremely well equipped, everything had been thought of. In a lovely location as it stands in its own grounds surrounded by countryside.
The property was amazing, as soon as we got there we felt at home straight away. It was big enough that we didn't trip over each other and the bedrooms were laid out brilliantly. We would love to return in the future as we didn't get to see everything in the area in one week!
We enjoyed Bolstone Court very much. There was plenty of space for eleven of us. The log burners were great, especially in the big lounge and we liked the breakfast bar in the kitchen as it allowed guests to get drinks and sit whilst cooking. All of the bedrooms were great, the beds were all comfy and the showers were very good.
Bolstone Court was just perfect and very sociable. There was plenty of room and the views were stunning. The house was clean and well furnished and stocked with basic essentials. I would definitely recommend it to other large groups.
Liked everything, couldn't wish for anything more.
It was a lovely comfortable house with everything that we wanted. It has a real wow factor.
Everything about this house was amazing, the photos (although lovely) do not do it justice. Every room is perfect for large groups and extremely comfortable. The bedrooms are beautiful and all either have a bathroom or access to one, the kitchen is perfectly equipped and the area around the property is just stunning. Bolstone Court was the perfect holiday house in every way and we cannot wait to go back.
