Just three miles away is the small town of Miltown Malbay, providing a selection of shops and pubs, whilst the seaside town of Lahinch is also close by. Visitors can enjoy the Cliffs of Moher - located to the north of Lahinch - which offer superb views of the North Atlantic and the Aran Islands in clear weather.

Our 2nd visit to Bluebell cottage, this time with a one year old! We had a lovely relaxing time, garden is great for the dogs, very safe. The garden is well kept and was abundant with butterflies and bees which was great to see. Inside the facilities are good. Big open, airy space. Travelcot and highchair were good quality and the cooking facilities are excellent. One minor negative, some of the door handles need tightened up. Highly recommended

What a fabulous location! 5 minutes walk into Miltown Malbay, great tourist places to visit, and 2 minutes from the beach for fabulous refreshing walks - still missed. The facilities at Bluebell Cottage were just stunning and the cottage itself was so welcoming and warming. If you want peace and quiet - it's here, but if you wanted all your friends to visit - this is the place to invite them! The owners were so welcoming and no question or assistance was a bother. As said, we still miss it and have told lots of people about it. Would definitely stay again.

Everything about the Cottage was really great, very clean, spacious and comfortable.. Located in the heard of Co. Clare, it is easy to get to anywhere within 30/45 mins max. Finbarr the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating, providing very tasty scones, milk etc.. Overall a super place to stay.

The cottage was superb.. The heating system was incredible (we stayed in February), the house is extremely well appointed with extra towels, two tv's (we've small kids so this helped prevent rows on wet days), great kitchen and entertaining space. The location is excellent for a West Clare holiday, 10 mins to Lahinch and the Cliff's, 20 minutes to Kilkee and the Loop Head trail. We had a couple of minor issue's and Finbarr arrived and sorted them out within the hour! We will be back and we'd highly recommend this cottage - absolutely five star space and service. We rent in West Clare usually about three times a year and I think we've found our home from home...

We loved everything about this cottage. Great welcome from Finbar and thanks for the lovely homemade scones. Everything worked well in the house and it was very comfortable. I though the main road would be noisy but it wasn’t and was relatively quiet. Would love to come back to this house again. Great meal out in the Bellbridge hotel down the road and easy drive to Laninch and Liscannor.

Bluebell Cottage is amazing! We had a pleasant surprise after a long drive from the ferry port across Ireland. The owners were there to greet us with freshly made scones and jam which were very much appreciated, what a welcoming touch! The picture on the website doesn't do it justice, as round the back there's a beautiful large extension finished to perfection, with tiled floor throughout. It is a light and airy space with a comfortable lounge area and a roomy kitchen / dining area tastefully done out. .....actually we wanted to live there!! Lots of interesting little decorations around and a lovely garden at the back. Bedrooms all good and spotlessly clean. We visited Ireland for a wedding and this was the icing on the wedding cake for us...Many thanks.

Having had bad experiences with cottages booked in the past (not via Sykes) I was infact very dubious about booking another cottage.. However Bluebell Cottage was more than one could expect. The cottage was stocked and supplied to a very high standard, internal finishes and cleanliness were excellent. The owner provided a welcome pack on arrival and gave a thorough handover. I would definately book this cottage again.

Absolutely loved this cottage. It has been finished to a really high standard and has everything you could ever need. The cottage was so cosy and is ideally situated within walking distance of the beautiful beach at Spanish Point. The owner gave us loads of info about places to go nearby. Can't fault this place at all and would definitely return if they will have us again!

We stayed here for one week in june, the facilities available were excellen. The house was v well equipped, with all mod cons. There were plenty of towels, bedding etc. There was a lovely outdoor ate a with a new barbeque, the kitchen was fully equipped....with beautiful home made scones on our arrival. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay with our 6 month old baby. A really lovely holiday home!

Bluebell Cottage 14th June to 21st June 2014 We arranged to meet the owner at 3.0pm on the 14th June so keys could be handed over. In the event we arrived at 3.45pm simply because we could not find the cottage. Both the owner and his wife were waiting and it was obvious they were in a hurry to depart. The owner’s wife cursorily showed my wife the kitchen, washing machine, tumble dryer and dish washer, none of which had any written instructions or manuals. In fact the tumble dryer was still working when the owners departed; the wife simply said “the towels are nearly finished! The owner showed me the TV (with satellite dish connections) which was located in the very small lounge with the wood burner. This room was small and very claustrophobic so we did not use it. See photo attached. The other “lounge” was actually part of the large kitchen. It also had a TV which could only receive Irish channels. The owners explained that they had intended to “clean up” the BBQ, but had not got around to doing so therefore it was not useable. See photo’s attached. They also said the shower in the en-suite was broken so would we use the shower in the main bathroom. They did not mention the toilet in the bathroom was difficult to flush and it was only after I found some oil to lubricate the mechanism could we use this toilet. The owners left us after about 15 minutes, saying any problems phone them. I was not shown the “starter pack” for the fires. After searching I found the “starter pack” which was half a hob of coal, a couple of wooden logs and two peat logs, and that was it! We were given two very large luxurious bath towels and invited to use their beach towels. The bed was large and very comfortable. They also left some scones and a pot of jam. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, crockery and knives and forks. The trouble was not all the appliances had been washed adequately and we could not find one sharp knife. This cottage is clearly used by the owners because their personal belongings were everywhere. In the utility room a large wet suit was hanging. Their clothes were in and on top of the wardrobe. Items were also in the drawers etc. Not what you would expect from a holiday cottage! In the “amenities” a CD player was listed, as I could not find this CD player I spoke to the owner by telephone, his cheery response was that the player was damaged/broken two weeks previously and he had to take it away for repairs. He had meant to bring it back on the day we moved in but forgot! He did not offer to bring the CD player to us and we did not have one for the week! Also under “amenities” a shop is listed as 12 minutes’ walk and a pub in 7 minutes’ walk. What the owners failed to inform us was that the “pub” was reached by turning left when you left the cottage, and was in fact a hotel with limited menu and hotel prices. The shop was a right hand turn from the cottage and was a small mini market attached to a garage. If anybody could reach either in the time given they must walk very quickly and as it meant walking along the main N67, without any foot path we did not attempt the walks! See photo’s attached.

The Cottage surpassed my best expectations by far. The owners made us so welcome. The location was ideal, a short drive to the local beach, local town, local golf course and a fuel station just down the road. What else could one want!
