Betty's Cottage is a stone-built terraced cottage in Gargrave, in the Yorkshire Dales. This lovely and very well-presented cottage has a super king-size double bedroom, a bathroom with a large separate shower, a kitchen with dining area, and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside is lockable bike storage, a garden with furniture and a summer house, and off road parking for two cars. Betty's Cottage is close to Gargrave's shops and pubs, and offers easy access to the stunning Dales countryside, making it a wonderful year-round base. Note: One well-behaved dog welcome.

Area
The village of Gargrave is situated on the banks of the River Aire and offers shops and pubs. Four miles away is the market town of Skipton and also within each reach is Malham and the Settle-Carlisle railway line.

Betty's Cottage perfect for a couple.. Very well situated for visiting and walking the south Dales. Walking from the door, minutes from the beautiful Pennine Way and the picturesque Leeds Liverpool canal. Gargrave a pretty little village with an excellent Co-op, fish & chips and some nice pubs (although shame about the Swan which was closed due to fire damage).

We found Betty's cottage to be extremely clean and very comfortable.. The rooms were all a good size and we did not feel cramped in any way. Lovely bathroom and the kitchen is well equipped. A long narrow garden leads to a little summer house where it is very nice to sit and have a drink. The neighbours are very friendly and helpful. Gargrave is a lovely village with wonderful walks locally and in a good location for getting about and exploring the area. Not many shops but the local Co-op supplies everything you might need.

This cottage & it’s location was an almost 5 stars .. There was no mention of shared access at back of cottage . We had a 7 month puppy & could not let her out without supervision which was what we wanted . In the end it worked out ok but would have liked to have bn informed.

Perfect location, as well as a beautiful cottage, as it was within walking distance of pubs restaurants & cafes.. Also ideal for walking the dogs with the Leeds-Liverpool canal within a few minutes walk.

We went for three days from Christmas Eve.. The owners had left us Prosecco, Christmas crackers and mince pies which was a lovely welcome. The cottage is gorgeous, modern yet traditional, fabulous wood burner in the lounge and a shed full of logs and kindling. Well equipped modern kitchen and bathroom and nice big bedroom with comfy kingsized bed. The garden is spacious and secure if you have a dog. There is a summer house at the end of the garden which has heat, light and....fridge! The village of Gargrave is lovely. Two great pubs and an Indian restaurant and the Co-op is one of the best stocked I've known. The walks on your doorstep are incredible and famous Dales landmarks are a short drive away. We can't fault any of it. Amazing.

This is the most expensive holiday cottage we have ever stayed in so was expecting 5 star.. (or at least 4) We were disappointed that there was no welcome tray or milk in the fridge which we have usually had in the past. It felt very cold and unwelcoming when we arrived but after fiddling with the complicated heating set up we managed to get some heat. There wasn't any storage space for our groceries that we brought and the canisters for tea, coffee, sugar looked as though they hadn't been washed in ages. The freezer compartment door on the fridge was iced up so struggled to open it. After we got settled in though we did enjoy our stay, especially the brilliant shower. The duvet cover had seen better days though. I have to add I used the washing machine because I'd had a fall and my clothes were filthy. It wasn't working properly and the washing was red hot when it finally finished after about 3 hours!!! I tried to stop it and open the door but couldn't. Even after supposedly tumble drying the washing was still soaking wet and red hot. I'm so pleased the clothes weren't my good ones because they have now faded with the extra heat. I left a note for the owner so hope they have got it fixed. The cottage is in an ideal place for touring the area but I do think it needs some upgrading and tlc

This is perfect holiday accommodation for dog owners.. As well as staying in a lovely cottage with a pretty garden, there are a number of walks by the river and by the canal straight from the door. This is why we shall return here each year.

Perfect base for our 5 day break, supporting our son who was running from Liverpool to Leeds along the canal.. ..132 miles! The cottage had everything we needed and was also dog friendly. Great base to explore the area up to Malham and get on the Pennine way.

We stayed in 'Betty's Cottage' for a long weekend in February. The village of Gargrave is quiet, picturesque and well serviced by local shops and pubs. The cottage was spacious and very well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing break. Being a cold February, having the wood burner was an extra treat. The cottage was centrally heated anyway, so it wasn't entirely necessary for us to use the wood burner, but it just added to the atmosphere. We throughly enjoyed our stay and we plan to return.

The location is excellent - extremely easy to get around on public transport and very central to many beauty spots in the dales.. Despite the fact that the cottage is opposite a pub car park and only just off the A65 main road it was very quiet.

Stayed for 6 nights in this lovely cottage. Very well appointed, and equipped. All the home comforts including a very easy to use log fire. Excellent location for exploring the Dales, and the village of Gargrave is very pretty with a moby local pub (Masons Arms). We have walked for miles with our very contented (and knackered!) Dog. Thank you so much to the owners of the fabulous Betty's Cottage. We will be back !

We are coming towards the end of our visit to Betty's Cottage. It suits us really very well. An old cottage that has been updated into a warm cosy dwelling . We are out and about all day and it's lovely to come home to such a well designed cottage . Everything is deliciously well thought out.The bathroom and kitchen are big and beautifully fitted and the sitting room and bedroom are both really comfortably furnished. Gargrave is a lovely village and Skipton, a great market town is only five miles away. We are not traditional walkers with dedicated boots and clothes, more amblers with our dogs. We've walked, or ambled, miles this week and not yet seen or done a quarter of the thing we planned. A fine excuse to return.
