Was set on booking here as it looked lovely, upon arrival we thought we were in the wrong place as we had to drive through a cows field, however we were in fact in the right place and it was BEAUTIFUL. Such a peaceful location overlooking sheep fields. The cats and dog are not feral, they live on the farm and only want to say hello- they are super friendly so don’t listen to the comment about that! .. the hot tub was brilliant and perfect for two people. Cabin was very clean and well kept with all the essentials you would need. If you stay here I’d recommend turning all the lights off at night and standing outside, the sky looks incredible as it’s in the middle of nowhere! Would 100% recommend this to anyone and am looking to book again next year!

The lodge even nicer than the pictures showed and was very good value.. The welcome letter, wine and information about local points of interest were wonderful touches that set the tone for us having a great weekend away. The surrounding area was beautiful and we had a brilliant holiday, absolutely no complaints, hopefully we'll be back soon.

Lovely holiday, we stayed at Ash Lodge and was delighted to arrive and find a bottle of wine and some milk in the fridge for us to enjoy.. The hot tub is a great addition and the lodge itself is full equipped with everything you need. I would recommend anyone wanting a relaxing break away to stay here, Ulverston town is a 10 min drive and local taxi drivers will pick you up and bring back at night. We are already planning a return trip .

The lodge was perfect and had everything you needed.. Was lovely to get in and have tea and milk there waiting we'd had a long drive so really appreciated that extra touch. The laminated guide on how to use everything and recommendations for eating out was also very helpful. The lodge was like a home from home.

I was completely sold with the initial photos of Ash Lodge, and definitely not let down when my partner and I got there for a romantic week away. The lodge is a warm and cosy retreat, with its own private hot tub overlooking the hills and the sunset. The lodge has everything you need and more, even a nice bottle of wine waiting when we got there! There's no WiFi coverage but this really is not issue at all as the location lends itself to a welcome break away from it all. We did, however, get a phone signal and the Freeview and DVD player were handy for evening films. There's plenty to see nearby, including the John Barrow Monument, Furness Abbey and the Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre; which had some amazing veggie food and peaceful walks. This is just ideal for couples, thank you to the owners for a great and memorable stay and we'll definitely be back!

It was a beautiful place.. The lodge was extremely clean and tastefully decorated. It was lovely to go into the hot tub every evening. The lodge had everything we needed and it really felt like ‘home’ after a long day exploring the stunning Cumbrian countryside. We cannot fault this place at all and would highly recommend it to all couples looking for a romantic break in Cumbria.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at Ash Lodge.. We needed to arrive late on our day of arrival and the owners were very accommodating to this. The lodge was very well equipped with everything you could need, The owners even provided milk and a bottle of wine for whatever your welcome drink may be!! Very cosy and comfortable lodge that provides a great base for going out and exploring the local beauty spots. The hot tub is a lovely bonus to relax those weary limbs after a hard days walking. Would definitely stop again in the future and recommend to others.

December 2017
Our break at Ash Lodge was lovely.. The lodge is the perfect size for a couple whilst being cozy and comfortable with everything you need. It’s also clean and tidy. The furnishings are lovely and the bed is very comfy. It’s decorated beautifully too - very in keeping with the surroundings and adds to the calmness and serenity of your break. The hot tub is a nice size and allows you to stretch your legs out much like a bath which is unlike many tubs I’ve been in! To top it all off there is a lovely view from the cabin over the fields. Whilst we were there it was near Christmas and it was crisp, clear and chilly - very festive! We would definitely recommend and return here!
