We found the cottage very disappointing.. It was dark and gloomy and did not meet our expectations.

WE thought the layout of the apartment worked well for two couples, each bedroom having its own shower room and being at either end of the apartment it meant each couple had a good degree of privacy.. The towels although clean were not of particularly good quality At arrival the apartment seemed clean but we later found that radiators in one of the bedrooms and the lounge had drink splattered on them - which we wiped and removed. The skirting boards in the bedrooms needed cleaning. We lost an ear-ring in the sofa and in searching for it lifted the sofa cushions to find a coloured pencil and various other debris.

Easy to book through Sykes cottages.. Reasonable price. Keswick is a good place to stay to see the rest of the Lake District.

Cannot give full marks for accuracy of description because we were told we needed to take towels when they were provided.. Glad that they were there because I had been feeling it was a bit mean not to have them included, for the price we were paying. Archers was fine for our needs: the ground floor en_suite bedroom proving ideal for our partially disabled guest. The house was comfortable and well equipped. We especially appreciated the fact that the central heating system had been pre programmed to come on after 6o'clock until 9.30 ish. It was lovely and warm. Thank you for all your provision.

Overall, this was a nice stay, beautiful location and the property was very clean upon arrival. Very short walk to town which was handy. Also being a car owner I was worried there would not be enough parking. This wasn't the case, there was plenty roadside and we did not have any issues in the week of staying. Downsides.. The sofa was not great at all, considering the amount of people that stay I am surprised it has not been recognised that the springs have gone, there is bowing in the middle which is uncomfortable. Another downside was the beds in the property, both of which if you are anything taller than 5' 9" your feet will hang over the bottom due to their dimensions. They are very small double beds, if you roll around and enjoy space to move then this is simply too small. The covers also reflecting this. Overall, the property was a pleasant stay and the property itself is very nicely decorated. The WiFi is also well needed around this area of you are on certain providers as you loose a lot of connectivity, I am presuming due to the mountains. Main thoughts are good, its a shame they have not updated certain items within the property as this could be made so much richer.

We are three friends who come to the convention each year. We rented this property because of its proximity to the main site for the convention, and because of its sofa bed, effectively making it a three-room apartment on a budget. We liked the sitting room and the well stocked kitchen, and the fact that there were two shower rooms/loos, one en-suite, and the other next to the back bedroom, but well sound-proofed. The only slight down side was the tendency for the sofa bed to go "boing" in the middle of the night! For a two bedroom let, we thought it was excellent, especially as it has a small utility room as well. Even with the convention, it was quiet, and parking was possible outside.

Stayed here with my husband and some extended family. It is well laid out for more than one couple as bedrooms are at diffrent ends of the cottage and the property has two bathrooms. Good sized bedrooms and lounge. Kitchen is on the small side but adequate for our needs. Separate laundry with combined washer/drier which was very useful as we were on a walking holiday! Very good location easy walk in to the town and to supermarkets and 5-10 mins to the lake. Property is in good condition and was clean and tidy when we arrived.

We recently stayed in this ground floor accommodation when we attended the Keswick Convention (which was great!) with a friend in a wheelchair. Although it is not advertised as suitable for the disabled, it met our needs - just!. The double bedroom with ensuite was roomy but the bathroom proved a bit of a challenge, being a bit on the small size, the wash basin is very small. The second double bedroom was down 3 steps, together with the other bathroom - it was again a bit small but the shower was good. The kitchen had all we needed in the way of equipment, and the dining room/lounge was comfortable. It was good to have a large size TV screen. There is access from the rear but no garden. Parking is on the street, always a bit of a problem in that area during the Keswick Convention. I must say that the rental agency were very quick to sort out a problem (with an overgrown hedge leading up to the front door) we discovered when we first arrived - it would have been difficult for our friend in the wheelchair. Thank you Lakeland Cottages!

We were really pleased with the location of this property and the cleanliness was great. However, when we arrived there was no complimentary tea/coffee which we'd expect at the price of this property. We also hadn't realised the twin room was a double bed, which made it a little tricky when we arrived late in the day with our three kids needing to go to bed. The house was also incredibly warm and we couldn't open the sitting room/dining room windows, which meant that the only way we could cool the house was by having the front/back doors open, which isn't ideal. We were relieved we hadn't stayed the previous week when there was a heatwave! Finally, the hedge next to the property was very overgrown meaning that each time we walked through the gate we were soaked from all the rain water it had accumulated! Of course, not the end of the world, but something you don't expect when paying money for this level of property. We were very happy with the location, Keswick is full of fantastic museums, there's beautiful countryside nearby and we had a really good week. We liked being so close to the Keswick Convention and being in Keswick best of all. We liked least paying high prices and not really receiving the kind of special care and quality of property that you'd expect for that money.

... except it might get too busy to re-book it again! Having stayed in a different cottage for a number of happy visits to Keswick, my first stay in archers was a reluctant change - but i was more than satisfied, and look forward to returning if i ever have the opportunity to work in the Lakes again. Comfortable, cosy, well-equipped. Great location for being central to shops, but easy access for walks, cycling etc...

We had a very pleasant stay in this appartment in Keswick. We were holidaying with in-laws and specifically selected this property because of the brochure advertisement stated there were two double en-suite rooms. Imagine our disappointment when it proved that only one room is actually en-suite. The other room has a separate private shower room. Very good shower and clean, but off the kitchen and utility area so not at all private. When we collected the key on Saturday morning it was just handed over without a word or any advice as to where to find the propery etc. or enjoy your stay. There was no welcome pack such as tea/coffee/milk, which we have found at other holiday cottage. However, that said the property is very clean, comfortable and centrally located, parking a bit of a issue as it was the very busy Jubilee weekend.

After leaving it to the last minute we got a great deal on our New Year getaway for four. Easy booking, easy directions, lovely, comfortable and well-equiped apartment. Would happily recommend it.

We had originally booked for another holiday cottage but the heating and hot water were broken so we had a bit of trouble moving all of our luggage out again and on to archers. Our original cottage had a better location in Station Road so we were initially quite disappointed, especially as we realised that the property was not as clean as it should have been - there was a tacky feel to the lino in the kitchen, and some crumbs on the kitchen work surface. However, the agency probably had not had time to inspect the property before giving us the keys. Archers is not actually that far from the centre of town and is really a very comfortable cottage. It has a large living room with TV, two bedrooms (1 en suite), and a good size fully equipped kitchen. The en suite and the main bathrooms both had very good, powerful showers. There was easy internet access, and a good number of books and games none of which we needed as we were able to get out walking every day. I'd like to say we'd have no problem staying there again but I don't think we would be allowed to bring our dog. They waived the 'no dog' stipulation as otherwise we'd have been left with no accommodation. However, I'd be happy to recommend this property to anyone.

After arriving at Archers, the first problem was to unlock the door, even though previous people had mentioned this in the comments book nothing had been done about it. Secondly, before unpacking we had to find a shop that sold fly spray. We weren't overly concerned about this at it was very hot when we were there. However, after a night out coming back to find a mouse running around the kitchen floor was very concerning. We complained the following morning and a pest control company was sent out. However, we had to wait in for them to arrive and put traps and poison down. The company that manage the property didn't seem bothered about the pest problem and only said that they'd let the owners know.

We found everything we needed in the apartment. It was the type of accommodation that suited us for the Convention.
