We stayed in Abbeylands House (3 families) for 5 days over Christmas. Warm welcome from Dympna with some lovely festive gifts. House was beautifully decorated for Christmas with a tree etc. The house has been sympathetically restored and is decorated in keeping with the age of the property. Large living room and dining table, lots of board/card games supplied. Kitchen is well stocked and large with a great double oven range for cooking Christmas dinner. Small decked area to rear of property and a small games room with football table and pool.
On the first floor there is a full bath room, large shower room, a large master bedroom with bay window, double room, and a single room, on the second floor there is a further shower room a twin room, two double rooms and a single room. All bedrooms are decorated well and are really comfortable. The house is a couple of roads back from the promenade in a quiet residential street and there is on road parking, we were fortunate to get three parking spaces in close proximity but this may prove harder in the summer. There are two larger car parks on the main road at the top of the street. There is easy access to the shopping area, north shore, west shore, the tram and the Orme. Lots of pubs and eateries. And we had two dogs with us and found the Queen Victoria to be really dog friendly. Would definitely recommend Dympna’s lovely house to a large family group and would visit again! We also went to watch the Boxing Day swim which was raising money for some great charities and was a great community event.
