The cottage was left tidy but as of booking it advertised with wifi which it didn't have, also there are recommendation of local takeaways such as the Chinese, sadly this closed some time ago.. The location is amazing and the village is good for its size. There is plenty to do in the area with great walks.

At the time of booking, the website indicated this cottage had wi-fi.. It doesn't and the website has since been amended. Whilst I can live without wifi and it didn't spoil the holiday, I would have planned differently had I known. Also, combination boiler/hot water was not working properly. The boiler frequently displayed 'error' and had to be reset (I left the owners a note). Again, it didn't spoil the trip but not great. The thing I dislike about Sykes - and the reason I won't vote for you in the travel awards - is the ridiculous number of advertising emails you keep sending. It makes me almost wish I'd never booked with you. I wouldn't mind the occassional (e.g. once a month) update but how many holidays do you think I'm going tobook for goodness sake?

We have just returned from a week staying in this cottage it was very clean and had everything we needed.the town is very nice with .some good walks right on the doorstep.the only slight niggle was the lack of a freezer, but we knew that before we went. I must mention the lady in the information office next door to the cottage, she was very helpful and cheerful

This was our 2nd stay at this cottage & it didn’t disappoint us.. The cottage is perfectly situated on Main Street with the Fells at your doorstep. It is beautifully decorated with lovely comfortable sofa & bed, well equipped kitchen. A real home from home , the perfect place to unwind. The fish & chips at the shop a minute away are the best I have had & the cafes & pub in the town serve lovely food I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends

There was a lot of confusion about where to park for the property, in the details it suggested you could purchase a weekly parking ticket for the nearby car park.. I contacted the owner to ask if he knew how to get one and he suggested not to bother as there were parking spots in the surrounding streets. But unfortunately there was a county cricket match on at the local private school for 4 days so it would have been an impossible task to park anywhere near the property. So I contacted the information centre that is in the car park to see about getting a weekly ticket and they said it was up to the landlord to apply for one. So I tried to phone the owner 4 times without success, he was always out or in a meeting so I e-mailed instead and got a reply a few days before going to the cottage. They told me just to park in the streets nearby so we assumed they were not going to apply for a weekly ticket for us. So on arrival to the property we parked in the car park and enquired in the information centre to see if we could get a weekly pass ourselves and was told you can purchase one at the machine in the car park yourself !! So we purchased a ticket for the week. Why didn't the owner know this ? it is his property and he should know all this. So on entering the cottage there was supposed to be a welcome pack, all we got was a folder with a little information about the cottage and how to operate the appliances and a bit about the area plus a little green parking permit from the local council, no information as to what it was exactly for, we assumed it was to do with parking in the streets as some areas have residents only parking areas. But on enquiring in the information centre as to where it entitled you to park it was apparently for the car park !! so we had paid for one but the owner had purchased one anyway !!! why didn't he tell us, he had my mobile number a text would have done. But we had purchased our ticket before entering the property so had no idea. Very poor communication from him. We did tell the lady who services the property of our disappointment about it and she spoke to him the next day and he told her to tell us he would sort it with us directly, we have heard nothing from him and don't expect to either. Wont be booking his property again. Cottage otherwise was clean and comfortable, only other issue was no shower but we knew this and had asked for a rubber bath mat to ensure no slipping while standing in the bath as my husband is unable to sit in one, he wouldn't be able to get up again. There wasn't one supplied but the lady who came got us one, or we would have had to purchase one ourselves. Beautiful area though, lovely little town, very friendly locals. Would recommend the area and the cottage now has a car parking permit !!!

Very comfortable cottage, tastefully furnished and decorated.. Sedbergh is lovely town and a brilliant centre for walking. Need to say there is a DVD player - I assumed there wasn’t. Good big TV. Felt the lack of: a shower curtain, a colander and egg cups.

The cottage was beautifully presented and very clean.. I think the cottage would benefit from having a freezer and WIFI, as advertised. Super location and would stay in the cottage again. Thank you.

Our fault for not reading the description fully.. Could have been more precise that the shower was not over the bath but had to be hand held, not easy to shower and avoid water everywhere. Also the fact the the fridge was fridge only and not even a freezer compartment which meant some items brought coukld not be kept frozen even though only small items which would fit into a normal freezer compartment..

I have already contacted you to complain about the cottage but have not had a reply for 5 days.. I am extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage and the customer service I have received. I can give you a full list of the cleanliness issues if you wish. Other points for constructive feedback are. I would strongly suggest putting in a proper shower and curtain. If you try and use the shower attachment you soak the whole bathroom as it is very powerful also we wouldn’t normally book a property without a shower. Not everyone likes having a bath every day I would suggest getting a blind or curtain for the front door for privacy and to stop the sun blinding you if you are sitting in the armchair. I was surprised there was no hairdryer. Only one egg cup and no measuring jug in the kitchen. Very difficult washing dishes as no dish drainer I would recommend bunk beds for the smaller room as very tight for space and no storage for clothes my legs are covered in bruises from bumping into the end of the beds. It’s not very practical having carpet in the lounge as the dining table is there and you have to take pots etc from the kitchen through the lounge to the dishwasher in the utility and I was worried about dropping food on it. I had to hoover every second day due to crumbs. A hard floor would be much easier to maintain. I felt the vacuum was far too bulky and awkward for the size of the cottage and some people would struggle to use it. A rechargeable carpet sweeper would be much easier to use. Would be great to have a small freezer next to the microwave. I would imagine a lot of walkers and families book the cottage. We were unable to buy any frozen food and couldn’t freeze our ice packs for picnics would just make life a bit easier

I would like to have had a dish rack in the kitchen as it was not always necessary to use the dishwasher.. As it is it is a little awkward as there is no draining board.

Mini Milestone is a fabulous holiday home that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a base to walk in the Howgills.. The décor was excellent and the beds amazingly comfy. The owners were at the end of the phone if we needed them.
