2 Hope Cottages is a former fisherman's cottage, located in the village of St Helens on the Isle of Wight. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms - a double and a twin. There is a ground floor bathroom with shower over, basin and WC. A kitchen and sitting room and dining area are also available. Outside is a patio garden with furniture. With the village amenities on the doorstep and the beach just a mile away, 2 Hope Cottages makes a great base for a family holiday near the sea.

Area
St Helens is a village in east Isle of Wight, near Bembridge, home to a village green, good restaurant, tea room, pub and children's playground. Nearby Duver offers shingle and sand, while the beach is family friendly, with the Baywatch Café offering refreshment. Super views can be enjoyed of the Solent and St Helens Fort.

Region
The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker's paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

Gas central heating. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, iPod dock, selection of books and games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent, please bring own beach towels. Travel cot and highchair (attaches to dining chair) available. Parking in free car park on the green approx 50 yards from cottage. Patio with furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1 min walk. Note: Patio is gated but communal pathway is shared with neighbours. Note: Stairs are steep, narrow and open, care to be taken.

Cottage true to photographs.. Double bed and twin room upstairs. Open plan lounge/dining/kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Heating and internet both worked well. Clean. Lovely summer house in the back garden, unfortunately just needed the sun! Easy check-in with a lock box. Two doors from a pub, two other restaurants in the village. Free parking across the road (have to move the car every 24 hours).

2 Hope Cottages was just what I was wanting.. I immediately felt at home when I walked through the front door. Even though it was November, when the mornings were sunny we would have our morning tea and coffee in the shed at the end of the garden. Conveniently located to both buses for exploring and the pub for meals and an evening drink. I loved the village of St Helen's, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We didn't want to leave and hopefully will visit St. Helens and the Isle of Wight again.

This cottage is unsuitable for septuagenarians.. The difficulty with the stairs needs additional clarification. Getting cases upstairs proved somewhat difficult.There is no storage facility for clothes in the second bedroom. There are no instructions as to the location of the central heating thermostat. It does not fire at 15c setting. The bathroom air mover is deafening. We found it somewhat disappointing given the write up.

The cottage is well located although the nearest beach is really a short car journey rather than a walk for a mature couple! The accommodation is rather dated and tired but comfortable enough. The garden is excellent with a lovely summer house. The pub next door is quiet and provides excellent food.

Fantastic cottage, everything you needed.. Ideal base for exploring the IOW. Lovely garden with a summer house. The cottage was cosy and clean,it also had the added bonus of WiFi which my teenagers loved . Would definitely recommend this cottage and Sykes cottages.

Ideal cottage in perfect location.. Very quiet and relaxing. Cottage has all the facilities you need even a washing machine. Note stairs are steep to bedrooms and bathroom is down stairs. Brilliant garden in sunny spot . Next door to pub - bit tired in decor but very good food. Highly recommend it and hopefully stay again soon

St Helens is a great village.. The cottage was very well equipped right down to things you wouldn't expect like baking equipment, tea towel and cleaning liquids for washing machine and dishwasher. Even a bottle of wine to welcome us!

The setting of this Cottage was good being right on the village green. There were good restaurants in the village and the pub was very friendly and nearby. It was a good base for getting around to other parts of the Island and there are some good walks from the village.

Ideal location for us with two small children as play-park opposite and big village green to run around on. House well equipped for families with games and toys and plastic plates/cups etc. Also a stair-gate on the bottom of stairs and kitchen area.

We loved the cottage just right for us and our two children 6 months and 3. We are already planning a return trip next year. We particularly loved the location as st helens is lovely and there is a kids play area opposite and pub and beach nearby. Cottage just what we wanted, so useful to have a travel cot there as saved us bringing ours.

This was a very homely cottage, well equipped by the owner. Nice bedrooms, small but good kitchen & washing machine, and various toys under the stairs. It is situated on the large village green, with ameneties nearby for everyone - about 4 doors from a small shop, a similar distance from a pub that does meals, a general stores & post office a short walk past the pub, & for young Isaac there was a playground on the green literally the other side of the road. Everyone we met was friendly & very helpful! Then of course it is a few minutes walk down the hill to the coast. The only problem we encountered was the stairs are tricky with a small child (quite narrow & no banister rail & only stairgated at the bottom so supervision needed upstairs) and I imagine might be unsuitable if you happened to be a bit infirm. We had a great time and are grateful to the thoughtfulness of the owner.

Fantastic location - opposite the village green and a short walk from the beach. A great place to explore the island from. The children particularly loved crabbing near the harbour and exploring rock pools on the beach. The cottage is tastefully decorated, cosy and comfortable with everything you need.
