Self-Catering Reviews

Mr Bradley
October 2020
Lovely, comfortable, homely cottage.. Enjoyed our stay very much. Ideally situated for walking into Shrewsbury and also visiting beautiful Shropshire.

Everything about the trip was lovely.. Shrewsbury itself, the surrounding area and the cottage. It felt very welcoming and had everything we needed without being cluttered. Two specific positives - a really comfortable bed and plenty of hangers. The only slight issue was I couldn't get the underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom to work but we didn't really need it.

The cottage was just right for us as a couple and the facilities were excellent, it was nice to have a small decking area to eat out in garden and relax and the walk to Shrewsbury city was very doable and enjoyable and the host left a clear route to do this which was helpful, all in all an excellent break..

The Mews were excellent.. A great situation and place to explore Shropshire, we visited gardens, cycled and walked. We ate out in Shrewsbury a couple of times and the town centre is in walking distance. We met Liz who was really helpful and she kept the cottage to a really high standard. A thoroughly enjoyable break.

Really lovely small barn conversion.. Every possible need had been catered for and we were impressed with the quality of the kitchenware, bed and general amenities. It was perfect for our needs.

This cottage is perfect for a couple with a baby.. We are from Shrewsbury and used this as a base to see family. Plenty around the area to walk to and it is very quiet too. Not far from town centre if you fancy a walk. The cottage is fully equipped for a self catering stay. Everything you can think of is available. It's not huge but for the three of us it was perfect. It had a lovely garden area but it was too cold to take advantage of. The owner is fantastic and will help you with anything that you need. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch after a long journey. We will definitely try to return and stay here.

We had a really comfortable stay for 3 weeks in this cottage.. The living/kitchen area is small, but not cramped, the bedroom area is spacious. Good WiFi, good shower, everthing was excellent.

Fantastic break.. We enjoyed this cosy, well decorated and well equipped house. All instructions (incl. detailed 1.5 mile walk into Shrewsbury) were very good. Ideally located for travelling around Shropshire.

Great location for exploring Shropshire and in particular Shrewsbury.. Comfortable, clean cottage with a warm welcome of a bottle of wine from owner.

A very good cottage for exploring the area, we visited Shrewsbury on three occasions.. The bus stop into Shrewsbury is 100yards from the property, every half hour Monday to Saturday. However the three quarters of an hour walk into Shrewsbury is well worth it. Attingham Park, Powis Castle and Upton Cresset are close by and worth a visit.

The cottage was all that a courtyard le needs to explore the area.. Cosy living area and comfortable bed. Thoughtful touches like welcome cake and wine, items like tea, coffee and even a new dishcloth and rubber gloves makes the stay feel more like home. Easy and pretty walk into Shrewsbury town centre too. Would highly recommend this cottage for a quiet get away.

The cottage was exactly as described.. Liz had left a bottle of wine and a cake which was much appreciated. Another good point was , as well as the usual visitors book, there was also a suggestions book which was checked after each lot of guests and any sensible ideas were taken on board. The location was absolutely first class and it was easy to walk into the town area. There were also good bus services close by , plus a local Co-op and other shops within easy reach. The standard of the appliances andd other fixtures was absolutely superb, even down to the induction hob in the kitchen ( we already use one at home ) Also close to the park and ride at Meole Brace which saved you having to struggle with town centre car parks. I only have one small concern and it is that I suspect that the sleeping area could potentially be quite hot during the summer months unless there is very good insulation in the roof. Also not being able to shut off the sleeping area could be a concern to some. Also if you were to go out of an evening you would need a torch during the darker months as the access to the cottage is not lit at night.

We found the cottage to be exactly what we were hoping for and it's very clean and cosy.. Liz has put a lot of thought into the facilities provided and had left a delicious home made ginger cake and bottle of wine to greet us upon our arrival. Good location too.

The cottage was perfect for us.. Situated within a few minutes of the town centre of Shrewsbury. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a freshly made ginger cake. Certainly will use Bank Farm Mews on one of our regular visits to this beautiful area.

A very comfortable, clean and well-equipped cottage.. The owner had baked a lovely cake and left some wine which was a thoughtful touch. Pretty little garden at the back and car parking for a smaller car. Courtyard at front is busier with residents and we parked our bigger car outside the front door with no problems. 30 minute walk into town. Cottages are hidden behind houses.

Very good, lovely cottage and very convenient for the bus and shops.. There was one little problem with the combi boiler - you had to run the kitchen tap in order to get hot water in the bathroom! Turn off the kitchen hot water tap and the bathroom tap would go back to cold. Never risked the shower. Otherwise a really good holiday.

This is a comfortable and well equipped cottage within walking distance of the town centre. The owner has used suggestions from previous holidaymakers to ensure that the cottage has everything that you need. There are plenty of places to visit in the area and I would definitely recommend a stay here. I look forward to returning in the future.

February 2016
The cottage had so much character, the old beams were amazing. There were lots of walks in the area and it was also handy for the local shops. I met the owner who should be very proud of the hard work she has put into making this cottage a real home from home.
Ms Preece

The owner of the property was absolutely wonderful, she was polite and helpful throughout our stay. The cottage was spotlessly clean, everything we needed was there and it was beautifully decorated. I can't fault a thing.
Miss Snelgrove
December 2015
It was extremely well furnished with good attention to detail, we didn't need to buy anything except food. Also in a nice location, an ideal place to get away from it all without being totally cut off from civilization.
Mrs Turner
