10 Swan House is situated alongside the Tewitfield Marina near the Lake District National Park. The cottage sleeps four people and has one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, one twin bedroom, a bathroom and an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with doors leading to a balcony with furniture. Outside the cottage benefits from off road parking for one car. With hiking, boating and golf all nearby, 10 Swan House is an ideal base for a family holiday by the Lake District National Park.

Accomodation Details
Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Ground floor basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with patio doors leading to balcony.

Area
Situated just a few miles north of Carnforth on the border of the Southern Lake District and the Western Dales is the Lancaster Canal village of Tewitfield Locks. This newly developed 'hamlet', with its own moorings, gardens, children's play area and popular country pub and restaurant, is developed from the original canal locks and the recent addition of a marina. Activities available nearby include an educational farm with its own craft centre, café, bakery and butcher's shop as well as walks through rolling countryside, the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis and the tropical hall and butterfly house. Other great days out include a trip to Dallam Tower, Levens Hall, Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, and the Great Lakes Aquarium. Grizedale Forest and its excellent footpaths and cycle routes is also within easy reach.

An extremely relaxing holiday accommodation with beautiful surroundings.. It was lovely being able to sit outside watching the ducks, swans and the boats. The only downside was the hardness of the pillows and dining chairs, but that is personal preference anyway. A supermarket was very easy to get to and we had some really nice walks by the canal..

The apartment was in a fabulous position overlooking the marina.. We were able to watch people working on their boats. We were very close to the pub, which was dog friendly. We were able to eat in the bar with our staffie. The whole area was dog friendly and we appreciated the welcome pack, comfy bed, towel and dishes provided for the dog. Everything we needed, and more, was in the apartment. There were even chairs and a table outside for relaxing and watching the world go by.

The property was well located, spacious, well furnished and really clean and warm to arrive to.. In almost everything it was really good. Our only criticisms would be that the beds seemed very hard to us, and the cottage would benefit from more cutlery (difficult to use the dishwasher effectively when only 6 knives and forks).

We have visited this cottage a few times and will most likely return.. It is modern well equiped and comfortable. The marina is well looked after and the staff friendly and helpful. An ideal location for visiting coast, the lakes and Yorkshire dales.

My wife and I have stayed numerous times at the marina.. The development is in an ideal spot, Morecambe for the coast 15 mins away Blackpool for the fun to be had there 20 mins away.. The lakes are 20 mins away and Kirkby Lonsdale he same, Ingleton Hawes And Skipton are 35 mins away. York Harrogate about an hour. The units are well managed as is the marina, the pub next door, can be booked vi a a mobile or tablet, is pet and child friendly with earl bird discounts. If you want eat in but not cook they do takeaway pizza! Only downside is you have a washing machine and no dryer, the dryers are at the back of the office and are not free to use

Swan house in tewitfield marina near carnforth is an ideal place for visiting the lake district.. If you want to stay at the marina there are plenty of walks to be had along the canal.Highly recommend.

The pictures you've got don't do the property justice.. Total chill out place pity it rained a couple of days but could not fault the break we had plus our little dog loved it especially going to the pub lol

The property is on a main bus route to the lakes and Lancaster And there is a hotel/ pub next door and a farm shop and cafe opposite .. The farm has a children soft play barn and other facilities for families.

Fantastic place to stay, right on the marina, and walking distance to a hotel for food. Dogs welcome and great for walking as its right on the canal. Perfect for an overnight or week long stay.

10 Swan House was immaculate in every way. Exceptionally clean and extremely well fitted out. Very peaceful looking out at the marina although I imagine it will be busy in the summer months. The food in Longlands Inn was excellent with a good variety to choose from and reasonably priced so we ate there every evening.

This cottage is a great find in a lovely setting right on the marina with the canal boats coming and going, it was very peaceful and tranquil. The hotel/pub is literally a two minute walk and is very good for both drink and food. The cottage was absolutely immaculate in every way and we would certainly return here without hesitation.

Stayed here for one week in August upon arrival we were very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of this house very well laid out and looking out onto the marina, we loved just watching the canal boats coming and going. You get a bit of noise from the motorway but not enough that it spoils it in any way, you are a two min walk up to the longlands hotel which does nice food and very good pizzas good beer as well. We liked it here so much that we are going back for a long weekend in September. There was no wi fi when we were staying but there is a room behind the office with wi fi and the pub has free wi fi as well, they are putting the wi fi in sometime soon.

This was a spacious and comfortable house in a relaxing and pretty location. There were lots of places to visit nearby and we used the information book telling us about the local area all the time. There were also lovely walks along the canal from where we were staying and a bus from the road at the entrance to the marina. We had a really enjoyable time!

We loved it here and the accommodation was as good as any timeshare wghich is what we've been used to. In fact it was better than a lot. We were so near the water it was like being on a boat and there were many places of interest round about. The cottage was well furnished and the kichen was well equipped wuith everything we could need. Three Tv's 0ne in each bedroom and the lounge. For me the only complaint was that could have been bigger as I have an eye and hearing problem but that's me and we solved the lounge one by moving the furniture bit I couldn't see the one in the bedroom because I couldn't see the subtitles. We are elderly so having to go upstairs to bed was a bit difficult but there was a toilet downstairs which helped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at no. 10 Swan House. The property was very spacious and very well equipped. We loved the location, straight onto the A6 for the Lake District, and even the surrounding areas are beautiful, Grange-over-Sands, Arnside etc. We loved the holiday and we will definitely be coming back!
