Just returned from a wonderful weekend in this beautiful cottage with my family.. Very comfortable home with lots of room for 7 adults and 3 dogs. Enclosed garden with hot tub was just the job for us all after a day exploring Co Durham. Karen was lovely, met us on arrival and had made homemade bread and left biscuits and chocolates..a lovely welcoming touch! Beautiful area with lovely scenery and walks on the doorstep. Will definstely return to this lovely place. Thank you.

Our only disappointment was we couldn't let our hair down too much as we were told by an overlooking nosy neighbour to "keep the music down as it's a quiet area" I don't know if I missed that in the cottage description.. It's something I will check next time. The owner of the cottage was really helpful and the homemade bread was delicious. The cottage was everything we expected, comfortable and very clean. Would definitely go back but just to relax, not party.

Superb!! Excellent cottage in a lovely area with fabulous views . The garden was fully enclosed for the 2 dogs. The hot tub was fantastic. Layout of the cottage was perfect for our family get-together. The kitchen was well equipped. Could not fault it. We had an amazing time, definitely a cottage we will return to as soon as possible

Very friendly, could not do enough for us on arrival.. We really enjoyed our family stay, greeting with a log burning fire and the smell of fresh bread, lovely touch. On the day we were leaving there was 6” of snow, all roads closed, we were told not to worry about rushing off till later when the roads had cleared, thank you for your kindness we appreciated it,would definately stay again, thanks again

The cottage was lovely and ideal for our family gathering.. The facilities were excellent. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were very firm to the point of being uncomfortable. The hot tub was great and the garden is a good size. The living room has plenty of seating and the kitchen is well equipped. There are 2 pubs in the village, one serving food however they stop at 6pm on a Sunday night and there were no takeaways offering delivery.

It surpassed our expectations.. Perfect location and all the information supplied was accurate. We were given the keys and the house had a log fire burning and freshly made bread and treats on our arrival . The hot tub was immaculate as was the house . We used the chef for dinner on Saturday night and the meal was exceptional. Very professional and personal touches, is flowers and candles and table setting and the food was amazing and excellent value for money . I have already recommended it to my friends , fabulous weekend had by all us 8 friends .

This is the most cosy and delightful cottage.. We made great use of the log burner and the Jacuzzi. The cottage was immaculate with even freshly baked bread waiting for us. The owners could not do enough - very friendly and attentive. Two pubs just a stone's throw away and had the best Sunday lunch in The Crown and Anchor as well as a glass of wine in front of a roaring fire. Perfect relaxing break. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Very well furnished, modern house with a log burner & a hot tub! Great pub just down the road and pets welcome: what's not to like? We had one or two issues with malfunctioning equipment but the owners were very willing to help, even turning out on Boxing Day. Particularly liked the nice touches of a Christmas tree set up in the living room on our arrival and fresh bread being baked in the kitchen. Lots of quiet routes nearby for bike rides/walks/runs especially the old Middleton railway and the Tees Valley path.

We arrived here on Friday the 15th of August and were greeted by Karen who showed us around cottage which is exactly as it looks on pictures, is big enough for eight people and was immaculate. The views from every window were amazing. Karen was very friendly and told us things to see and do while there and where was good to eat and pointed us in direction of shops which are a 5 minute drive from cottage. There was also a selection of leaflets left for us on all the different places to go and things to do near by which we found really helpful. Karen had left tea bags, sugar milk and biscuits for us which we found very thoughtful. The kitchen is stocked with every utensil, dish, pan, cake tin you could ever need as well as a selection of different glasses and plastic breakers and jugs for the kids it really is a home from home.the cottage itself is really new looking, it's modern and nicely decorated. Me and my family loved it. She supplied a travel cot and high chair for our one year old which was good as would of struggled to fit ours in car. The neighbours were really friendly to, one of the girls who lived down the bottom of the street even brought out her pet pony for the kids to see and stroke which they loved. The pub (whos name I can't remember) which is a five minute walk along the road does fabulous food we went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. The cottage has free WiFi and a DVD player as well as freebies but it also had board games both for children and adults, a large selection of books, a chess and draughts set, dominos and cards it was the little touches like this that I found very thoughtful and we are already planning to return
