Brilliant apartment we had a great time here very central for the town,.. .Found the parking up the street not as bad as made to believe more of a problem at the weekend but all in all we managed to park the car just up from the apartment.we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the lakes as we love Keswick and it’s so handy for all the lovely walks around without having to use the car as the buses are very good .All in all a great holiday we will be back!

The mattress were very hard, I realise this is personal preference.. The oven requires some attention seal has gone around the door so did not heat up very well. We were a party of 4 two couples it would be better if there had been another comfy chair to relax in the lounge area. The location of the apartment was very central making it ideal to access most of the attractions in the town on foot. The decore was of a high standard.

Flat warm and well equipped.. Would not stay there again because of the following. although we were aware that property was a second floor flat there was too many stairs for us, even inside flat, 38 in all. The overall cleanliness was very good except for the oven which was very greasy around the door and under the controls which in turn had symbols which had worn away. It was trial and error to gauge the right setting. Could not get extractor fan above oven to work. The beds are too small and finally the widows in sitting room and bedrooms could really do with blinds or nets for privacy. the flat may be high up but so are the properties facing

Perfect location, very clean well equipped modern property.. Only slight niggle, didn't sleep well, cheap flat pillows, king size beds beds or 4 singles, would be better., however wouldn't put us off renting again, the apartment is beautiful.

The best thing about this property is its location as it is just a 3 minute walk into central Keswick.. Most self catering properties rented previously have supplied a few essentials on arrival. We arrived late after shops had closed. There was nothing in the flat - not even salt or milk and so everything needed to be bought. When paying over £300 for the property it seems as if little thought given to guests needs and simply a little tight. Not a great first impression.

Overall very happy.. Only a couple of minor points. The bathroom fans are extremely noisy and take some time to switch off. If your using the ensuite toilet it can take a while to get back to sleep. We eventually switched it off once we realised there was a button. May be worth hilighting this as an option. Only other thing was the pillows. I personally felt they needed changed as too flat. Otherwise loved the flat, especially the kitchen. Lovely and clean and fantastic views of the mountains. Definitely recommend.

This was a good quality flat in a great location and overall we were pleased with it.. However, the flat was not sparkling clean on our arrival, I am not sure when someone had last been in but there was massive cobwebs in the kitchen. I had cause to complain about the toilet which did not work properly for 5 of the 7 days and I had specifically chosen somewhere with two toilets. The place needs some hooks to hang coats and towels on and an airer to dry clothes. This could be an amazing place to stay with a bit of attention to detail. I do expect some form of compensation for being without two toilets for 5 out of 7 days of my stay.

Good location.. Just a few minutes walk to the town. Clean and comfortable. Parking is on street car park. Therefore, first come first served basis but we didn't have any issue as we came back early afternoon everyday. It could get busy if you come back late though. We were a bit confused when we were looking for the flat after receiving the key as there are the same house numbers with letters as well. The house number on the confirmation e-mail was without any letters but it was actually house number with letter B. We were given only one set of keys but later we found out we could get two sets upon request. Just a small suggestion for improvement. If hooks are fixed on doors for hanging towels etc that'd be appreciated.

Lovely clean apartment, well equipped with everything you would need on a self catering family holiday.. Our arrival was straight forward and the location of the office to collect keys was perfect. Lovely friendly staff available to help with any problems. The Location of the apartment was perfect 2 minute walk to everything Keswick has to offer. Myself 40+, 7 year old daughter and 60+ parents all enjoyed our stay equally as there is so much to do and the walks around the Lake very accessible to all. The restaurants and pubs offered great food, drink and a wonderful warm and welcoming atmosphere. The parks are beautiful and boating activities on the Lake was a highlight. Keswick is a great place and will definitely be booking again.

The apartment was in a quiet location but only a few minutes walk from the town square and was easy to locate on our arrival.. Was clean on our arrival. Instructions for using the shower informed us to use the extractor fans in the bathrooms whenever the showers are in use to avoid "accidental activation of the smoke alarms" however the fan in the family bathroom was not working. The toilet in the en suite bathroom had a problem with the flush which was mentioned in the comments book and the quilt cover and pillow cases in the second bedroom were very badly worn out to a point where they had holes in them. These problems were all pointed out to the staff in the office who stated she would get onto the owner. These aside the apartment was lovely and quiet, light and airy and parking was not a problem on the road outside. The facilities it provides are more than enough and we would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

This apartment is lovely, modern and clean. It is literally a 2 minute walk to Keswick main street and the rental office to collect/drop off keys. We only used one of the bedrooms, and later discovered the second bedroom had an en suite but the main bathroom was larger so we just used that anyway. Only minor changes I would make would be to have a bigger TV in the living room, TV's in the bedrooms, blackout curtains and bigger beds. If you are staying at a busy period try to get there early as parking is on street and is first come first served, ditch the car and go explore before you pick your keys up at 3. Despite this I would very happily stay again.

The only things I would change would be a bigger TV in the living room, TV's in each bedroom, queen/king sized beds and blackout curtains in the bedrooms as it was really light in the mornings.. Those things wouldn't stop me returning, but would make the stay more comfortable. Lovely apartment, lovely location, very handy for the town centre.

The 2 bed apartment was as described and presented very well. The apartment is light, well furnished and has 2 good bathrooms. Arriving late we collected the key using a code from a box at the rental agencies office. Only a few minutes walk from the shops, market, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Quiet location and good heating though it was timed and at times we needed heating but had no control over it. I would highly recommend the apartment and found it very well priced compared with other apartments or B& B's. The apartment is second storey and there are 2 flights of steps to get to the front door. No towels are provided (but all all linen is). No wifi and I think it would be a good idea to organise it as many people need it to keep their life organized! Parking is an issue as it is on-street and it can be difficult in busy times to get a park near to the apartment. If I came to Keswick again I would certainly stay in this apartment.

I booked to stay in Helvellyn with my girlfriend for a long break over my birthday weekend. The thing that immediately drew us in was the cheap price which seemed fantastic given the quality of the living space shown in the pictures. As with all images on the internet I approached Helvellyn's appearance with scepticism - it is all too easy to make an accommodation look far bigger and more modern than it actually is. I am happy to report that this is absolutely not the case here and if anything the apartment looks smaller than it actually is in real life. The place is large, perfectly situated in a quiet corner of the town centre and rigged out with modern appliances and furniture. It was spotlessly clean and surrounded by beautiful fells which can easily be seen from the windows given its position on the top floor of a building. There is plenty of light so the place never feels dingy or claustrophobic. Both bedrooms are wonderful, with one being slightly smaller to accommodate an en suite shower and toilet. The open plan kitchen and living room is a nice size and there is enough seating for you and visitors, unless you're having a conference in your holiday cottage. The bathrooms were modern, clean and well functioning - I tend to be picky about showers in particular but the main shower was fantastic (though I didn't use the en suite one). The only downside is the owners' strange reluctance to provide a WiFi service. If, like me, you're with O2 your phone simply will not pick up any internet signal whatsoever in Keswick and organisational tasks thus forced me out into the town in search of free WiFi. The lack of WiFi has been mentioned countless times by users on Trip Advisor and in the guest book in the place itself over the course of a number of years, yet still has not been rectified. As a smaller inconvenience, there is no hairdryer provided in the apartment, which is something I consider to be fairly standard. While I visited in October when it was fairly cool, we found that only one of the windows in the apartment would open to any sort of useful degree. This is presumably a health and safety feature but it is worth mentioning for people who may be planning a visit in the hotter months. The final issue is that driving and parking around these roads is very tight and worth keeping mind of if you plan on driving to Helvellyn. Luckily, I did not find myself needing the internet very much, the weather was cool and I did not drive and as such these issues did not hinder my enjoyment experienced at Helvellyn. I would absolutely go back in a flash... providing I didn't need parking, a hairdryer, cool air or the internet.

After a crappy experience in London, we were wondering how our second accommodation would work out. And all I can say was that it was about as close to perfect as you could get. The location (a five minute walk from the town center) was perfect, street parking was plentiful, and the property itself was gorgeous. The property was immaculate, and well laid out. And the views out the windows were tremendous. We would definitely stay here again.

This flat is a lovely space. We spent nights with the sash windows wide open. The dual aspect of the flat meant it was easy to get a through breeze. My partner had previously stayed here with a friend on a walking weekend and we'd recommend this to anyone - especially friends or two couples. The only things missing were wifi and a second set of keys.

A clean and tidy flat with well equipped kitchen spotless bathrooms- warm and well furnished. I would give it four to five stars, but for the lack of wifi, which probablly will not bother most people, but increasingly over the next few years wll become more of an issue with visitors. Cetainly within three to four years it will be expected.

Have been coming to Keswick for years but this flat rates as one of the very best. It was so light and airy with beautiful views to the hills/mountains. Everything was spotless and the flat was so well equipped. We liked it so much that we decided to stay an extra few days! With it being so early in February no-one had booked the following week and we were able, with the help of the lovely lady in the Keswick office,to do just that.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It had everything you could want and was very comfortable and nice warm (especially in winter). We would definitely stay there again, and its so much better than staying in a B&B; or hotel, as you have more room to relax. Many thanks

Beautifully sytled apartment with good quality kitchen and bathrooms. The power showers are excellent (although beware the one over the bath as the screen doesn't prevent the water from leaking onto the floor)and the whole accommodation is well laid out. With only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Keswick we found the apartment very well positioned. Would definitely stay here again, especially if we could get a late deal again!

Very pleasant and helpful staff in the office. The flat was very clean, comfortable and provided all that we needed. It was in a very pleasant, desirable area and was quiet at all times. No experience of traffic or noise. Nothing specific as the 'best' - it was all good.

Fantastic service from Lake Cottage Holidays that they leave a key for you of you're arriving late, it meant we had no hassle with arriving late at night. Fantastic location to the town and to lots of lovely walks. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard and everything in there is very well kept and clean. We felt very at home there straight away and wished we could have stayed longer. Great for families as there are 2 bedrooms and doors so that you can limit noise once the kids are asleep! We have a toddler and we felt very safe with him running around the apartment as we could shut the front door area off. We'll definitely be back for another holiday!!

This was the first time we have stayed in self catering accomodation in the lake district and we were really impressed. The accomodation was clean and spacious and finished to a high standard. It was great to have a dishwasher while we were on holiday! The location was perfect for the fell walking we enjoyed as well as to the town for shopping and eating. It was an excellent stay and the only improvement we can think of is to improve the wifi connection, there was a good signal by the windows but it dropped occasionally when sitting in the lounge. We hope to return to the Lake District later in the year for more fell walking and hope to be able to rent Helvellyn again.

The flat was very handy for both the convention centre and town.Bright and tastefully decorated. The shower was great but the screen still needs attention.Hadn't realised there were not towels provided but bought some from the market!lat minute as we usually camp.So glad to have aroof over our heads this year!

A great little apartment finished to a very high standard. We would recommend it. The fridge was a bit loud and could be heard from the lounge (as it was open plan with the kitchen). Not a problem with the TV on but a bit annoying when reading. Parking was a little hard to find as there are a number of B+Bs in this area. We managed to find somewhere in the same street though. The agent were very helpful and efficient. This is an excellent location for Keswick town. There are a number of really good traditional pubs (you can't really go wrong with any of them), a great vegetarian cafe called The Pedlars and the best chippy on the planet.

An excellently appointed apartment within a few minutes walk of the town centre. A quiet street although, the on-street parking was a challenge until early to mid evening when day trippers and shop staff had left town. We were able to make a good day's walk from the apartment to Skiddaw and back.

Excellently equipped flat with very good standard of maintenance. The location is very well placed to walk into Keswick Our only two suggestions are firstly include a map to show the location of the nearby laundrette [very close once you know] and get internet access installed in the flat.

good comfortable apartment, efficient showers, would prefer kingsize beds but they were comfortable. maybe less dinning chairs & an extra easy chair would be good. the views are fab. you can see the mountain tops, i loved it. well equipped kitchen although we didn't use it much because there are plenty wonderful places to eat in Keswick, just a short walk away, its very central for everything- shops, pubs, cafes, lake, walks & buses.

Five star value at discounted late availability rate. Excellent location, very clean, warm, beautifully furnished with high standard fixtures and fittings (exception being the loo seat in main bathroom - very uncomfortable. How many people have a square posterior?). Only possible negatives would be lack of washing machine and no internet access. Nice to have basic kitchen cleaning materials provided. Information on local events/attractions/restaurants could be better presented but not a significant issue for someone who knows the area well. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and certainly a higher standard of accommodation than we have used in the past (washing machine apart) but not one we would have considered at full price.

This was our second stay at Helvellyn. Our stay was very comfortable and convenient for our purpose. The only negative comment is that we would have appreciated an internet connection. Also several pieces of crockery were chipped. Sufficient to say that we have booked for two weeks in 2012 - that is recommendation enough!!
