Considerate owners offer well located, comfortable and fairly priced upstairs rooms in the centre of a quaint, if a little dog-eared, market town with good facilities convenient for many local attractions.. We experienced friendly bus drivers on the only remaining adequate route through attractive countryside to Shrewsbury on the day of the local festival rally through town.
Rain prevented our enjoyment of the Open Garden day but it was well attended later in the sunny evening
Several castles are close by but we were especially fortunate to visit Studley Court the set of the film Atonement - wonderful.
We ate twice at the oldest brewery - good cooking but lacking charm and enjoyed good beer and banter in three other hostelries including the venue for a proficient rock band.
Altogether thoroughly enjoyable week!
