Opposite the golf course and a short walk to the beach which makes it an ideal spot. The accommodation is fantastic and for the six of us it was a delightful spot well furnished and stocked. We will hopefully visit again

Every thing about this cottage was perfect in every way even the owner when he came round was very pleasant and informative .. It was a bit strange having to book every thing before you could go anywhere due to Covid 19 but at the end of the day the cottage made up for it, being 10 mins walk from the beach and also the fish & chip shop . We will defiantly going back it was outstanding .

We were aarty of 7 including 3 young teenagers.. All ages felt the cottage was very suitable and well equipped. The younger members of the party were particularly impressed by the good wifi and Sky Sports. There were lots of little touches that were appreciated e.g. 2 fridges, plenty of cutlery, 2 TVs. The closeness to Samson Bay was a real plus.

This is a perfect house for an extended family group.. It’s location is perfect, and almost everything has been thought about for enhancing a holiday stay, ( a pair of oven gloves would be welcome!) Even in poor weather it suited us very well indeed, but a summer stay with the proximity of the beach would be superb. Thank you for sharing this home.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage, well located for Porthmadoc town centre and main roads.. The cottage is situated in a quiet location on the edge of a golf course and it is only a few minutes walk down a footpath to the quiet, unspoilt beach at Sampson’s bay or a longer walk across the golf course to Black Rock Sands.

A lovely, spacious cottage, plenty of room for two adults and four children.. A clean, well equipped property, only really missing a hairdryer, but with little touches such as foil, cling film, kitchen roll and soap by every sink a very welcoming home for a week. Only downsides from our point of view are the wifi was very unpredictable, a bit of a let down for the teenagers, and there was nowhere to recycle on site.

This house was well situated near Black Rock Sands, Portmadog, giving good access to the Llyn peninsula and Snowdonia.. It was very quiet and excellent facilities for our enlarged family who were meeting for our Ruby Wedding celebration. We enjoyed good weather and had 2 outside Barbecues which were fun and comfortable with the outside furniture. Having flown from various places we were unable to bring much so a few more basic food commodities and perhaps picnic items would have been really helpful. However I would recommend this house as a base for a great family holiday.

The heating system was a bit if a problem.. We think it may have had an airlock because sometimes the radiators would come on and sometimes only the odd one. The last evening was colder than our other nights but we had no heating or hot water. There are signs everywhere asking you not to touch the system so we didn't. We left a note to this effect when we left. The smaller double bedroom could have done with a chest of draws to put away smaller items as we had to leave those in the suitcase which meant delving through everything each time. There was nowhere else to put them. Only one bedroom had a wardrobe, the others had open hanging rails. Could have done with towel rails in the shower room instead of one very small heated rail. Overall a great place for a holiday in a lovely quiet location and we enjoyed our staying the cottage. Apart from the above it was superbly appointed and clean. So much to see and do as well for all the family.

The house was well equipped and the extra bottle of bubbly along with the Welsh cakes left by the owners was a very nice touch.. Located in such a peaceful location with Samson's Bay beach only a few minutes walk down the lane. The section of coastal path round to Porthmadog was a stunning with fantastic views of the Moelwyn's & across to Harlech. Such a nice place will definitely be going back!

A lovely big spacious property.. The large grassy garden is ideal for holiday play activities. The public footpath to the beach is suffering from the effects of erosion, making it awkward for pushchairs.

We liked the position and size of the property. It had everything we needed and was a homely, comfortable and spacious house to stay in. It was close to the beach and nice and quiet too. The garden area is fantastic for children as its large but safe. A perfect stay for us and we would definitely return and recommend it to others.

In a peaceful setting with easy access to the beach. It had a large garden for children to play in. It was roomy accommodation with plenty of space for eight of us.

The property felt like a home from home, we really enjoyed our time there. Being so close to the beach was very good as my 2 year old niece was on holiday with us.

Lovely views and a cosy cottage which was very spacious for 6 of us, we all had our own space. In a great location with a stunning beach 10 minutes away, had a really enjoyable beach walk. It was very relaxing, and despite the weather we found plenty to do in Porthmadog, Sky TV was a good plus! Will definitely go again!

August 2014
A superb location, within a few minutes of the beach which was very sandy and safe for our young grandchildren. The golf course across the road was ideal for son-in-law and the Wales Coastal path provided us with some lovely walks. Ideal for a family holiday.

An ideal location for touring North Wales and yet within a few minutes walk of a small secluded beach. The splendid beach at Black Rock Sands is a few minutes in the car but it is worth driving because you can take the car onto the beach. The rest of North Wales is within easy reach with Snowdon being about a 45 to 60 minute drive. Porthmadog is two miles away with a Tesco supermarket although there is a good sized Spar shop and Post Office in Morfa Bychan itself. Porthmadog is the starting point for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways which share the new platform at Harbour Station. Both of these lines are well worth a ride and are highly recommended. We all agreed that we would have no hesitation in booking Gwelfor again.

The cottage and it's facilities and location were perfect for our needs. If we play golf in the same competition next year, we will certainly be looking to stay there again!

August 2013
The location is particularly good with easy walking access to the beach, a quiet unspoiled beach. It was also central for the whole area which was beautiful. The house suited our purpose perfectly, being a mixed family group, with enough space indoors and lots of space outdoors for the children to play. It was warm and homely accommodation. We loved it and would use the same house again.
Mr Stockton
June 2013
The size of the accommodation and garden were brilliant, just right for a toddler, parents and grandparents. The location of this particular cottage was excellent for amenities and the beach. The cottage had a really nice family feel to it, you didn't feel like you couldn't touch anything. Having two separate lounges was a bonus, one for the TV and one as a playroom.

We stayed hear for new year 2012 The service was easy and straight forward from booking to collecting the keys The property was clean and well presented there was also drinks left by the owner to welcome the new year in with location is fantastic close to two beaches and the golf course The only bad thing i can say about this property is one of the mattresses was a bit lumpy
