Delighted to have found this - can only recommend!
We had a wonderful fortnight here. Location wise it is well placed to visit all sorts of places. You are almost spoilt for choice. Lewes, Brighton and the coast are all nearby. We went to Great Dixter, Sissinghurst and Wakehurst which were just beautiful, and there were many other nearer gardens too.
There is a Co-op in Horam, a very short drive away, and more shops in Heathfield - including a Waitrose. The Gun pub, a very short walk away, was good too.
The cottage is very comfortable. The beds were good, the showers great and there was plenty of space downstairs for rainy days, with enough to entertain us if we needed it.
We felt that this would be a cosy cottage in winter - you just need to make sure you switch the night storage heaters on the day before. We had to put the hot water on several times for the taps and washing machine, but the showers were always hot.
The garden is lovely and would be great for youngsters exploring the woodland area. The pond had lots of wildlife too - watch the toddlers though! - but rather more wildlife than we expected.... something ate all the water lily leaves while we were there. We decided it must have been deer in the night!
The few negatives for us were that the log burner kept on going out and we kept on smoking the room out! We did leave a note about it, so hopefully they will have sorted it.
The parking was fine. It was useful to have someone checking no one was coming though. The road was busy very early on Monday mornings and during the morning commutes, but otherwise was fine and it didn't bother us.
I would love to stay here again and would definitely recommend it!

Stayed with sons family. A lovely clean and comfortable cottage with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with well laundered linens. Real wooden coathangers (so often a selection of broken wire and plastic ones) The garden was great for relaxing and family cricket. The local pub is good and lovely walks all around the property. Lighting and plumbing a little eccentric but to be expected in a period property.

We were unable to use downstairs shower as there wasn’t any hot water coming through, we had no hot water until Thursday evening until we discovered the pipes had an air lock, we also found mice droppings on the work surface and small kitchen table.. I also think that you should explain that the property isn’t really suitable for people with disabilities as I would not have chosen this property. I have booked through you before but this one has really made me rethink, the overall cleanliness of the cottage wasn’t up to other cottages we have had. We were all very disappointed.
