Grouse Cottage description

Holiday home

The property has a wealth of quality features with exposed stone work, oak floors and beams and they all serve to highlight the high standard of the cottage. This is a stunning area and this property makes a fantastic base in which to explore the region.

The old market town of Kirkbymoorside is situated on the edge of The North Yorks Moors National Park between the towns of Pickering and Helmsley. Visitors to the town are well catered for with tea-rooms, public houses, restaurants and antique shops, Wednesday is market day and locals and visitors alike can enjoy the bustling atmosphere. Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham are picturesque villages nearby and have some interesting attractions worth visiting. Kirkbymoorside makes a superb base to see the variety of attractions this stunning area has to offer.

Well presented, comfortable, fully equipped holiday cottage to a high standard.. Private garden with patio and BBQ. Owners very helpful and friendly. Excellent that dogs are allowed. Plenty of walks from the door. Great location quiet and peaceful but with easy access to moors, woodland walks, towns, historic properties and the beautiful coast. Our second visit, will return and highly recommend.

Very nice cottage, owners friendly and helpful.. The cottage was very well equipped with all we would need, very high standard. Very good location for the places we wanted to visit. Our dog was fully catered for with biscuits and blankets, and the welcome sponge and other bits were a nice surprise. Safe enclosed garden for our dog to run in. The cottage lacked for nothing and was very homely. Would definitely recommend.

Tracy was really welcoming and her flapjacks are to die for.. Grouse cottage is lovely and very comfortable. It is in a great location, really quiet and peaceful, yet I didn't feel at all nervous, being on my own with just my dog, and he was very happy and relaxed too.

The owners were very helpful and the cottage was very clean and well equipped.. It was a lovely to arrive to find a cake and milk in the fridge. Have no hesitation in recommending Grouse cottage. A great base to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and perfect for dogs.

We'd had a fantastic week staying in this lovely cottage with our children and dog. Lovely cottage and very well equipped. Beautifully warm without the wood burner, but toasty with it - very accommodating owners and we've already booked to go again!!

Lovely cottage with a nice welcome from Tracy complete with a fresh baked Victoria sponge.. Cottage was excellently equipt to a very high standard the garden was lovely and well secured if you have small dogs. Under floor heating kept the cottage at a good temperature but the wood burner was lovely in the evenings. The cottage is a good base for visiting North Yorkshire as Whitby, Scarbough, Bridlington and the North Yorkshire Moors Visitors Centre all within 30 miles. The North Yorkshire Railway at Pickering to Whitby is a must stopping at Goathland (Heartbeat) country. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and we can’t fault the cottage or the location in the slightest. Highly recommended.

Cottage is out of the way but not so far you feel you have to travel miles out of your way.. It makes it very quiet. Exactly what we want. The small town is only a five to 10 min drive and has three pubs, and a few takeaways depending on what you want and a small co-op. The nearest towns (Pickering or Hemsley) are lovely to have a look round and Thirsk has everything you could want. We have come here two years in a row now and it recharges our batteries! We look forward to going again in the future.

The cottage was well equipped and beautiful throughout.. However one small snag was not being allowed to leave our dogs to go out for a meal or to the pub in the evening. Made it very limiting. But the cottage and its location were excellent.
