We met Carl, the owner who replaced the dvd.. He was very pleasant and helpful and wanted to know what more he could do to make the cottage welcoming.

I can’t rate Sykes cottages high enough.. The cottage was immaculate and everything had been considered down to the smallest detail. We were able to settle in immediately and enjoyed our time from the minute we walked in the door. The information file was invaluable and we found the whole experience delightful from finish to end - we were sad to leave. Just wonderful - great company that actually delivers what it says it will - Rare these days and absolutely refreshing - we will definitely back. Sykes is our holiday experience provider now and always!! Well done

Perfect little cottage for a weekend away! Although very compact, the cottage had everything we needed, it was warm and comfortable, and the location was excellent, within easy reach of pubs, Monsal Head and Bakewell. We would definitely consider it again.

All the furnishings, kitchen equipment, towels etc were of a vey high quality.. There was a basket with a bottle of wine, beers & nibbles. A very nice & unexpected gesture.

Comfortable cottage in a pretty village which is central for touring this part of the Peak District.. Cottage is a home from home and nice to return to at the end of the day.

Perfect location.. We enjoy cycling so being so close to the Monsal trail was perfect. Easy cycle ride into Bakewell. Many wonderful walks straight from the cottage. Just over two mile walk across the fields to Bakewell or a little further via the Monsal trail. Three excellent pubs just a few minutes walk from the front door of the cottage. Cottage had all you need. I would agree with a previous review, it would be nice to build up the wall around the garden in the future to help keep the dog from wandering off (or chasing cats!). High speed wifi connection was much appreciated (download of over 65Mbps). Nice welcome gifts on arrival (bottle of wine etc.).

Great little cottage with modern kitchen and bathroom, spotlessly clean & close to local amenities.. The garden is not ‘enclosed’ enough for 2 curious spaniels who were easily able to make their way over knee-height stone walls (!) but great to have the option of outside space, just had to keep dogs on leads which wasn’t a problem. Easy access onto the Monsal Trail for walking/cycling. Thourougly enjoyed our stay.
