Green Smithy Cottage is a lovely retreat situated in the village of Bentham in North Yorkshire. Hosting two bedrooms; a double with en-suite, and a twin, along with a family bathroom, this property can sleep up to four people. Inside you will also find a kitchen/diner and a sitting room with a wood burner. To the outside is off road parking for one car and a garden with patio and furniture. Located in a delightful setting and close to nearby attractions, Green Smithy Cottage is a wonderful retreat in a charming part of England.

Two bedrooms: 1 x double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with woodburner.

Area
High Bentham is a town with a weekly market, good local shops, as well as a choice of pubs, whilst the 18-hole golf course is well known for its views. The High Bentham area is threaded with public footpaths, for you to take a stroll. The market towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, Skipton and Kendal are all within easy driving distance, whilst the Lake District and the coastal scenery of Morecambe Bay are only half an hour away.

One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1 mile. Note: There is no handrail on the staircase although there are places to place a hand when ascending and descending the stairs, therefore this property is not recommended for people with limited mobility and care must be taken with children.

The cottage is lovely and the owners couldn’t have been more welcoming.. They met us on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know, and left us welcome gifts. The cottage is spacious and finished to an extremely high standard. I have read on other reviews that the gate is narrow, but we managed to fit a large 4x4 on the drive and it offered peace of mind that we could park our car safely and that our dog and small children would not stray from the grounds without us opening the gate. The cottage contained everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It is in a quiet location but still only a short drive to Bentham. For anyone thinking of walking to Bentham though, be aware that it is about a 25 minute walk - fine for adults but those with small children may prefer to drive. We found parking in Bentham no problem though so this wasn’t an issue. We felt the cottage was terrific value for money and would consider staying again.

We were met by the owner and shown through the cottage.. All our questions were answered and the book with details in it was excellent plus we were given a small welcome pack which was very nice. I would definitely recommend this cottage as it was very clean and comfortable. I would perhaps like to see better signage ie a sign post on the corner if it is possible. If you have a small SUV be advised that it is quite tight to get your car in through the gate. All in all a lovely property.

The cottage was lovely it had everything we required to have a great holiday.. Out in the countryside but still close enough to Bentham to walk there and back although it's all up hill on way home. We were made very welcome by Malcolm & Elaine on arrival. Very peaceful with comfortable beds which was great for long lies in.

This cottage is an absolute gem in a stunning location so clean and very easy to settle into as everything is where you would expect it to be nothing seems to have been overlooked .. A very friendly welcome from Malcolm which was much appreciated as was the bottle of wine , chocolates ,and milk . Can honestly say this cottage is probably the most well equipped one we have stayed in and there has been quite a few . Would love to return one day .

Green Smithy Cottage was perfect for our holiday with Monty (the dog).. Spacious, lovely furnishings, dog friendly floors, enclosed patio area and a warm welcome from Malcolm, the owner. It was like home from home and a pleasure to return to at the end of our days spent exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The cottage’s location was excellent - perfect for some peace and quiet, yet brilliantly accessible to lots of villages, towns, countryside and pubs! Had a great stay at Green Smithy Cottage, a beautiful place to stay with all the comforts of home..
